Vibrating Pillow Alarm
Model VB2
Owner’s Manual
Introduction
The Vibrating Pillow Alarm enables you to wake up easily. A traditional alarm
clock is connected to a powerful vibrating pad. The pad vibrates when the
alarm time is reached providing an effective signal for even the heaviest
sleeper when it is time to wake up.
The Vibrating Pillow Alarm is supplied ready for use with a quartz alarm
clock, a vibrator unit with connecting lead and a PP3 battery. The battery,
fitted in the vibrating pad, powers both the alarm clock and the vibrator
unit. It is NOT possible to operate the alarm clock without the vibrator unit.
Instructions for use
Plug the connecting lead from the vibrator unit into the socket on the alarm
clock, the vibrator unit may operate briefly when this is done. Set the
correct time and required alarm time after reading the separate instructions
packed with the clock itself.
Place the vibrator unit under the sheet beneath the pillow and the clock on
the bedside table. When the alarm goes off the vibrator unit will vibrate
until the alarm is switched off at the clock. The audible alarm in the alarm
clock will also sound.
The battery supplied should last about 3-4 months in normal use. If the
vibrations get weak, the clock loses time or stops the battery should be
changed.
The battery should be removed if the unit is not to be used for a long period.
Just unplugging the clock does not switch the unit off completely and the
vibrator unit could still be triggered. It is a good idea to remove the
battery before check-in at airports and when sending the unit by post.
Please remember that any clock is, by its very nature, fragile. So care should
be taken not to knock the alarm clock over, particularly when making the bed.
If the alarm clock is damaged replacements can be bought from Sarabec, please
quote the serial number of the vibrator unit when ordering.
Battery Changing
To change the battery in the vibrator pad, turn it over and whilst pressing
down, slide the battery cover in the direction of the arrow. The old battery
can now be removed by turning the unit over and tapping gently. Unclip the
connector from the battery. Fit a new battery making sure that the wires are
tucked out of the way. Slide the battery cover into place.
Battery type : ALKALINE PP3 or equivalent. These batteries are commonly
available at supermarkets chemists as well as electrical shops.
ALKALINE types should always be used, other types are not suitable and will
not last very long. Rechargeable batteries are also not recommended because of
the short time between charges.
When a battery is fitted the unit may vibrate for a short time before
stopping.
