INSTALL AND REMOVE THE LENS

Remove the rear lens cap. Align the lens mounting mark ⑭ and the mounting mark on the camera, then insert the lens.
Rotate the lens clockwise until it locks.
To remove the lens, rotate the lens in the opposite direction while pressing the lens release button on the camera.

SWITCHING FOCUSING MODE
Select the desired focus mode on the camera.
For manual focusing, turn the focusing ring ⑥ to achieve the desired focus.

VIBRATION COMPENSATION

The VC (Vibration Compensation) mechanism reduces image blur caused by manual shooting.

How to use VC

To activate VC, set the camera stabilization function to “ON”. If VC is not required, set the stabilization to “OFF”.
Press the shutter button halfway and confirm that the viewfinder image is stable before taking a photo.

  • VC is efficient under the following conditions
    • Places with poor lighting
    • Places where photography with flash is prohibited
    • Places where the tripod cannot be used
  • VC may not perform well enough under the following conditions
    • When a photo is taken from a vehicle with high vibration
    • Shooting during excessive camera movement
    • When shooting using a tripod
    • Disable the camera’s stabilization setting when taking photos with the long exposure setting. Otherwise, the VC may cause a malfunction.
    • The image in the viewfinder may be immediately blurred after the shutter button is pressed halfway. This is due to the VC principles and not to a fault.
    • When using VC, the total number of recordable images is reduced due to the camera’s power consumption.
    • Disable vibration compensation in camera settings when shooting while the camera is stationary by something other than your hand (like a tripod).
    • You may hear noise caused by the lens when the camera is turned off or when the lens is removed from the camera. This is not a malfunction.

FOCUS ADJUSTMENT KNOB (See Fig. 1)

  • Press the focus adjustment button ⑩ to use the function assigned on the camera.

CONNECTION PORT (See Fig. 1)

Lenses with connection port ⑬ can be connected to a computer using the TAMRON connection cable (sold separately). Then, using the “TAMRON Lens Utility TM” application, you can update the firmware and register functions on the switch personalized ⑫.

ZOOM (See Fig. 1)
Rotate the zoom ring ⑦ to adjust the focal length (zoom position) to the desired position.

ZOOM LOCK (See Figs. 1, 2, 3)
You can lock the zoom ring ⑦ at a focal length of 70 mm to prevent rotation.

Adjust zoom lock (See Fig. 2)

  • Align 70 mm on the focal length scale ⑧ with the focal length mark ⑨.
  • Set the zoom lock switch ⑪ toward the camera.
  • Release the zoom lock (See Fig. 3)
  • Set the zoom lock switch ⑪ toward the subject.
  • To zoom, release the zoom and then turn the zoom ring ⑦.

LENS HOOD

The sunshade ① can eliminate unwanted light rays that may affect photography.

  • Use the lens hood (See Fig. 4)
  • Align the hood mounting alignment mark ② on the lens hood with the hood release mark ⑤ on the lens.
  • Turn the sun visor ① in the direction of the arrow until the sun visor lock mark ③ is aligned with the sun visor release mark ⑤.
  • Keep the lens hood (See Fig. 5)
  • Install the sun visor ① upside down and turn until it locks.
  • Please note that the periphery of the photographed image may be darkened if the sunshade ① is not mounted correctly

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

  • An internal focusing (IF) system is used to reduce the minimum focusing distance. The viewing angle can be wider than the lens angle with other focusing systems when shooting at a distance closer to infinity.
  • The lens hood or lens barrel may block flash light. It is recommended that a prior firing of experimentation.
  • Differences in camera displays may result in values ​​differing from the maximum aperture and minimum in specifications. This does not represent an error.
  • Do not touch the lens-camera interface contacts ⑮ with your fingers. Otherwise, it may cause a malfunction.
  • If the temperature changes suddenly, condensation may form and cause malfunctions.
