KENWOOD KLF-2 Line Filter
INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing this KLF-2 line filter.
This KENWOOD product has been designed to filter out the noise present on
mobile transceiver power cables, due to ignition or alternator noise.
INSTALLING THE FILTER
Install the KLF-2 filter between the transceiver and the power source.
- For maximum filtering capability, locate the filter as close as feasibly possible to the transceiver.
There are 3 leads extending from the KLF-2 line filter:
-
Red & Black Lead Pair:
These leads are designated as “TO BATTERY”. Simply attach these two leads directly to the battery terminals (red to the positive terminal and black to the negative terminal). -
Single Red Lead:
The single red lead is designated as ”TO TRANSCEIVER”. Splice this lead onto the red power cable, on the transceiver side. The transceiver’s black cable is not affected; it remains attached to the negative battery terminal.
We recommend you use a crimp style 12 gauge butt type connector to splice the lead of the KLF-2 line filter to the power cable.
SPECIFICATIONS
The KLF-2 line filter is rated as follows:
- 11 V – 16 V DC; 13.6 V DC nominal
- Maximum current capability of 25 A
