How to use the docking station for your laptop
Docking Station connection
- Please attach the power supply provided with the dock to the DC-IN port on the docking station
- Connect your laptop to our docking station via the USB 3.0 or USB C port.
- Please attach additional power supply to connect the your laptop for more stable connection.
- Please go to https://www.synaptics.com/products/displaylink-graphics/downloads to download or update the driver before using this docking station. Enter the website page as shown below
- Please check the operating system model of your laptop in “Settings>About” and select the appropriate DisplayLink version to download
Download driver for Windows laptop
- Please click the “Windows”
- Please set resolutions
Resolution setting for windows
- Click Settings – System – Screen – Select the display resolution, choose the resolution you need
Display settings for Windows
- Settings – System – Screens -In the connected Displays window, click the More options icon on the desired display more options icon
- Click Mirror to mirror the displays, once all available display devices are all mirrored.
- Click the More options icon on the primary display – Click extend and select which display you would like to extend to.
If you find that the monitor cannot display, please check if it is disabled. If your monitor is disabled, please set it to “Enable”
Or you can press the Windows Key + P and select control panel

When asked whether you agree to install and enter the password, please click “Agree” and enter your fingerprint or password to install. Other wise, the driver will fail to install.
The message is generated by the OS and the screen is not actually being recorded by displaylink. -
Enable “Screen Recording” to allow the DisplayLink Manager app to capture pixels and send them to your USB peripheral:

Open “Security and Privacy” in “System Preferences” after installation

Click the lock to prevent further changes

Click “Screen Recording” in the left, then click add DisplayLink user agent and click “+”, you can see the DisplayLink icon in the upper right corner of the computer and click “Open” then you can use DisplayLink products NOTE: Click on the DisplayLink icon to set up an automatic startup program

Use Extended Mode

Choose Apple menu > system preferences, then click displays

Click the Arrangement tab.

Make sure that the Mirror displays checkbox isn’t selected.

Arrange your displays to match the set up on your desk.
To change the position of a display, drag it to the desired position. A red border appears around the display as it’s moved. -
To set a different display as the primary display, drag the menu bar to the other display. The primary display is where your desktop icons and app windows first appear.
Use Mirror Mode
- Please make sure your external display is turned on and connected to your Mac.
- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Displays, then click the Arrangement tab.
- Make sure that the Mirror Displays checkbox is selected.
Before opening downloaded software for the first time, mac OS requests your approval to make sure the installing software is what you expect. And the following is the situation you will encounter when installing the driver.5.Resolution setting for macOS
Modify to App Store and identified developers on your Mac before
installing
View the app security settings on your Mac
By default, the security and privacy preferences of your Mac are set to allow
apps from the App Store. You need to modify the DisplayLink driver to App
Store and identified developers before installing the DisplayLink driver,
otherwise, you will not be able to install the driver.
In system preferences, click Security & Privacy, then click General click the
lock and enter your password to make changes. Select Apple store and
identified developers.
Allow DisplayLink Driver install Not from the App Store
If you have set your Mac to allow apps only from the App Store and you try to
install an app from elsewhere, you will see a warning message and can’t
install an app because it was not downloaded from the App Store. What if the
installation due to improper operations such as not clicking “Agree” The
solution to installation failure is to uninstall and reinstall it:
- Finder – Applications – Right click “DisplayLink Manager” – Move to Trash
- Follow the previous instructions, open the downloaded.pkg file and reinstall
NOTE : Prior to macOS catalina, opening the newly installed DisplayLink driver shows a yellow warning icon and asks if you’re sure you want to open it, then click “Open”
Connection to an Ethernet Network
- Connect an RJ45 patch cable to the dock
- Connect the patch cable to an active LAN or router port
- Check the documentation of your LAN or router to configure network access.
- Link and Status LEDS should blink to indicate a live connection
- If using a MacBook for Ethernet connectivity, do the following: click “System Preferences”, “Network”. click “+“ and Select USB 10/100/1000 LAN to create an application ( Click on the app to show 10/100/1000 LAN green, connected successfully).

INFORMATION ABOUT MACOS 10.15
Some users updating to 10.15 have found their DisplayLink devices have stopped
working. 5.2software is designed to run on Mac OS 10.15, but the OS can
disable our kernel extension during the update. Please check the kernel
extension is enabled and screen recording is also enabled, to ensure
DisplayLink enabled devices continue to work when migrating to 10.15. Kernel
