FROZEN FOOD STORAGE
Before putting frozen food inside the cavity please check that the product is set as a freezer (see “Temperature adjustment” paragraph) and that the red light doesn’t light up.
BEFORE SWITCHING FROM COOLER USE TO FREEZER USE PLEASE CHECK THAT FOOD OR BOTTLES ARE NOT PRESENT INSIDE THE CAVITY TO AVOID UNWANTED FOOD FROSTING OR BOTTLE CRACKING.
Refer to the table on the appliance (if provided).
Classification of frozen foods
Put the frozen products into the appliance and classify them; the storage date should be indicated on the packs, to allow use within expiry dates.
Advice for storing frozen food
When purchasing frozen food products:
- Ensure that the packaging is not damaged (frozen food in damaged packaging may have deteriorated). If the package is swollen or has damp patches, it may not have been stored under optimal conditions and defrosting may have already begun.
- When shopping, leave frozen food purchases until last and transport the products in a thermally insulated cool bag.
- Once at home, place the frozen foods immediately in the appliance.
- Avoid, or reduce temperature variations to the minimum. Respect the best-before date on the package.
- Always observe the storage information on the package.
Note: Eat fully or partially defrosted foods immediately. Do not refreeze unless the food is cooked after it has thawed. Once cooked, the thawed food can be refrozen. If there is a long power failure:
- Do not open the appliance lid except to place ice packs (if provided) over the frozen foods on the right and left of the appliance. This will slow down the rise in temperature.
FREEZING FOOD
- Before freezing food inside the cavity please check that the product is set as a freezer (see “Temperature adjustment” paragraph) and that the red light doesn’t light up. Preparation of fresh food for freezing
- Before freezing, wrap and seal fresh food in aluminum foil, cling film, air, and water-tight plastic bags, and polyethylene containers with lids, provided they are suitable for freezing foods.
- Food must be fresh, mature, and of prime quality in order to obtain high-quality frozen food.
- Fresh vegetables and fruit should preferably be frozen as soon as they are picked to maintain the full original nutritional value, consistency, color, and flavor.
- Always leave hot food to cool before placing it in the appliance.
Freezing fresh food
Place foods to be frozen in direct contact with the walls of the appliance:
A. foods to be frozen,
B. foods are already frozen.
- Avoid placing foods to be frozen in direct contact with food already frozen.
- For best and fastest freezing, foods should be split into small portions; this will also be useful when the frozen items are to be used.
- At least 24 hours before storing fresh food in the appliance, press the fast freeze button.
- Place the food to be frozen and keep the lid of the appliance closed for 24 hours. The fast freeze function automatically deactivates after about 50 hours.

FAQ’s
The freezer’s temperature control is where?
The temperature control is often found in the center of the back wall of the internal cabinet liner on earlier upright freezer types. The temperature control is often found on the outer front of the machine, on the door, and on modern upright freezer types.
How long does a freezer last without electricity?
Keep the freezer and refrigerator doors closed. Food in a refrigerator will remain safe for up to 4 hours if the doors are kept closed. 48 hours in a fully-stocked freezer and 24 hours in a partially-stocked freezer.
What settings do typical freezers use?
The ideal freezer temperature to keep your food safe is at or below 0°F (-18°C), although depending on its environment and other circumstances, your freezer may need to be set higher or lower. The standard 0°F (-18°C) freezer factory setting on Whirlpool® refrigerators is a wonderful place to start.
What stops a freezer from freezing?
A very typical reason why combo refrigerator freezers don’t freeze is unclean condenser coils. Your freezer’s ability to cool down is reduced when coils aren’t properly maintained. You may use a crevice attachment on your vacuum to clean the condenser coils.
What temperature should an Indesit fridge freezer be set to?
The third setting on the thermostat or the midpoint of the indicator line is what we advise you to use.
On a fridge freezer made by Indesit, where are the coils?
Typically, the condenser coils lie under the refrigerator. As refrigerant runs through them, they disperse heat.
Why do my Indesit refrigerator and freezer run nonstop?
The fridge freezer may operate longer if there is insufficient airflow around the outside of the cabinet, just as it may do if the thermostat is improperly set or malfunctions.
What freezer temperature is the coldest?
Zero degrees Fahrenheit is ideal for freezers. The coldest fridge temperatures are represented by lower numbers on a thermostat dial. You may check the accuracy of temperatures with an appliance thermometer.
How are the shelves taken out of an Indesit freezer?
Before lifting it up and out of the fridge, take any objects from the shelf. Gently remove the current shelf front from one side. Then, using a flat object, such as a dull knife, carefully unclip the two front connections as shown. After that, you may remove the opposite side’s clip.
Why does the temperature in my freezer constantly fluctuate?
Due to the control that the freezer is outfitted with, the temperature in the freezer fluctuates. The freezer will chill according to the preset until it reaches a limit value. When attained, the compressor shuts off, causing the temperature to gradually grow as a result of the surroundings’ temperature.
Why does the temperature in my freezer keep going up?
It may be in the defrost cycle from the way it sounds. It usually enters defrost mode every six hours, at which point the compressor, fans, and heater behind the wall of the rear freezer switch on to melt any ice that has accumulated on the evaporator coils. The temperature will slightly rise as a result.
What freezer temperature is the safest?
Maintain optimum temperatures for your appliances. Maintain a freezer at or below 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4 degrees Celsius). The ideal freezer temperature is 0°F (-18°C).
What occurs when a freezer gets too chilly?
The defrost heater might not work properly if the freezer is too chilly. Once this piece of equipment ceases to function correctly, the freezer is unable to stop the buildup of frost. Defrost heater issues that are damaged or not working correctly will cause further issues.
What is the freezer’s hottest operating range?
You would assume that setting your freezer at 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) would be safe as it is the freezing point for water and many goods. Wrong! 0°F (-18°C) is the optimal temperature for freezers.
Does the freezer suffer from the cold?
Moreover, freezing temperatures will fool your freezer into believing that the required amount of refrigeration has already been achieved. Your freezer will sit empty and let its contents thaw out as long as the outside temperature is below freezing.
