Coffee Preparation
- Insert the plug of the appliance into the socket.

Always pull the plug out of the socket before cleaning.
Detachable Parts:
The filter insert is dishwasher-proof. For cleaning in the dishwasher, the lid
of the mug can be disassembled by pressing the hooks on the underside.
The therm jug and lid are not dishwasher-proof. Rinse the jug after each use.
Soiling can be cleaned with washing-up liquid and a brush. For stronger stain,
we recommend using Melitta® PERFECT CLEAN Accessories.
Basic Appliance:
Use a soft damp cloth and some washing-up liquid for cleaning the exterior.
Appliances and cords should never be cleaned under running water or immersed
in water. Do not use scouring pads or harsh abrasives.
Descaling
In hard water areas scale will eventually build up in your machine which
unfortunately cannot be avoided. You should descale your machine regularly
(after every 40 filtrations) to ensure perfect operation.
Important:
After descaling repeat the brewing process with clear cold water (without
coffee) at least 2 to 3 times.
