INTENDED USE
This Lift Assist Cushion from Aidapt is designed to be used to help gently
raise the user in and
out a chair or sofa.
ADJUSTING THE GAS LIFTING MECHANISM
Turn the cushion on its side and reach underneath the rear of the cushion. You will see a bar that runs three quarters of the length of the base. Pull back on the widest part of the bar connected to the lifting mechanism so that it releases from the resistance grooves. (See Fig 1).
Move the connector to the appropriate slot and push until the connector is
properly in place. See Fig. 2 and 3. The lift assist cushion is now ready to
use.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Position the Lift Assist Cushion onto your chair ensuring the surface area is
level and free from any obstructions that may compromise the stability of the
product. The lift assist cushion should be used on a chair with arms. The
cushioned area should ideally overhang the front of the chair. When ready to
sit down ensure your weight is distributed evenly on the flat part of the top
of the cushion. The lift assist cushion will gently ease you down slowly into
your chair. If the cushion does not go down when you sit in it then you will
need to adjust the gas lift setting underneath the cushion area.
When using the lift assist cushion to sit up and down the user should have
both hands on the arms of the chair and their feet flat on the floor at
shoulder width apart. When rising out of a chair the user should lean slightly
forward and push off with the arms and legs. The lift assist cushion will
gently lift the user out of the chair (See Fig. 4).
NB. The Lift Assist Cushion is not recommended for use in wheelchairs, automobiles, reclining chairs or chairs with non-lockable wheels.
