GUARANTEE
Subject to the provisions described below, this product is protected for 1 year from the date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship. Prior to returning any defective products to Vorsprung, the end user must report the faulty product to Vorsprung. This can be done through emailing info@vorsprungofficial.com. If Vorsprung agrees that the product should be returned, it will issue a Return Authorisation Number. This number must be clearly marked on the packaging of the product to be returned. The customer will return the product at their own cost. Should the product fail to perform as described within the relevant guaranteed period as set out above, it will be repaired or replaced with the same or functionally equivalent product by Vorsprung at its discretion, free of charge, provided the customer:
- Provides Vorsprung with proof of purchase.
- Returns the failed product to Vorsprung with shipping charge prepaid.
Replacement products may be refurbished or contain refurbished materials. If Vorsprung, by its sole determination, is unable to repair or replace the defective product, it will replace or refund the purchase price of the product. The warranty does not apply and will be null and void if, in judgement to Vorsprung, the product fails due to damage from shipment, handling, storage, incorrect installation, accident, inappropriate use or cleaning of the product, relocation of the product after its first installation, abuse, misuse, or if it has beenused or maintained in a manner not conforming to product manual instructions, has been modified in any way, or has had any serial number or other identification markings removed or defaced. Repair by anyone other than a qualified engineer will void this warranty. All defective products should be returned to Vorsprung with shipping charges prepaid. Should an issue be found with your unit, Vorsprung will return your repaired/replaced unit free-of-charge to any UK address. Should the return address be outside of the UK return postage will be at Vorsprung’s discretion. If the unit is found not to be defective return postage will need to be paid for by the customer. Nothing in this agreement will affect the end consumer’s statutory rights. Vorsprung only supply products for domestic, light commercial and private use. Vorsprung accept no liability to the end consumer for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, loss of business opportunity or time travel incurred.
SAFETY
This manual applies only to the Vorsprung electric vehicle charging device and serves as a reference for its setup and operation. Failure to install and operate the Vorsprung in accordance with these instructions may damage the unit and invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty. An installation completed by a professional is required.
IMPORTANT: Before installing and/or using the product, installers and end
users must read and understand the contents of this handbook.
WARNING: Before beginning the installation, make sure all electrical
power is turned off. Turn the power off at the source.
NOTE: The wall Charger is supplied with a protective film, once
installation is complete it is advised to remove the film.
Installation must only be performed by someone who is properly qualified and
competent to do so in accordance with the current legislation in force in the
geographical location of the installation. Installation must only be completed
by fully certified personnel and competent in compliance with the current
regulations in effect in the installation’s geographic region.
- If any of the instructions in this handbook are unclear, contact the distributor for clarification and/or training before attempting to install or use the product.
- The manufacturer/distributor will not be held liable for faulty installation or any difficulties that may arise as a result of improper installation.
NOTE: The installer is responsible for any damage to the equipment, associated systems, or property caused by poor installation.
- The information in this manual must only be used with the model that the manual was supplied with.
- Do not use the product for anything other than its intended purpose.
- Do not modify the equipment unless instructed to do so by the manufacturer.
- To ensure electrical safety, the product’s body enclosure (access covers) must be securely fastened in place with the supplied fasteners, the seal must be adequate to maintain the enclosure’s IP rating.
- Damage to the body enclosure, access covers, seals may render the product unsafe. The product must be electrically isolated and not used until appropriate remedial action has been performed.
- Do not attempt to repair or tamper with the equipment unless the manufacturer specifically instructs you to do so.
- The content of this manual may be updated as required.

IMPORTANT: Items damaged in transit must first be reported to the courier and then to the supplier. Photographic evidence of the package and/or product damage should be provided along with proof of purchase. Incorrect or damaged units must not be installed.
PRODUCT SPECIFICATION/TECHNICAL DATA
INSTALLATION/TESTING
CAUTION: The front panel is connected to the charger body by electric
cables. Take care not to damage, strain or disconnect the cables. At the end
of the procedure, make sure all connections are secure before refitting the
panel.
WARNING: Make sure electrical power is isolated before starting this
procedure. Turn power off at source.
IMPORTANT: Installers and End Users must read and understand the content
of this manual before installation and/or use of the product.
Installation must only be performed by someone who is properly qualified and
competent to do so in accordance with the current legislation in force in the
geographical location of the installation.
- Advice provided in this manual does not override any legislation
- If the advice in this manual is not understood, contact the distributor for further advice and/or training before attempting installation/operation of the equipment.
The manufacturer/distributor cannot accept any responsibility for improper
installation or any problems arising from improper installation.
NOTE: Damage to the equipment, connected systems or to property caused by
improper installation are the responsibility of the installer.
- All electrical work must be performed in accordance with the current Electrical Wiring Regulations.
BEFORE INSTALLATION:
- Establish a suitable site location for the unit that is both secure and environmentally safe.
- Make sure the location meets the current legislation (if applicable).
- Make sure there is a suitable mains power supply available at the installation site.
- Make sure the unit model is correct and matches the order.
- Make sure the unit and any accessories do not appear to have been damaged in transit.
Make sure the supplied fixings are suitable for the mounting location. If not suitable, alternatives must be obtained locally before proceeding with the installation.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
CAUTION: During the next steps, the charger front panel will be removed. Take care not to damage or strain cables or cable connections that run between the chassis and the front panel.
- Remove the Vorsprung EV Charger from the packaging.
- Remove and retain the fixings that secure the front panel to the charger body.
- Carefully ease the front panel away from the charger body to gain access to the interior.
- Visually inspect the Vorsprung EV Charger & internal components.
- Use the charger body to mark the mounting position
- The charger body should be on a flat & smooth surface.
- Make sure it is orientated correctly and is level.
- Mark the 4 fixing holes onto the surface.
- Drill 4x marked fixing holes onto the surface and insert the wall plugs. Do not drill through the charger body.
- Make note of the electrical connection terminations within the charger body.
- Secure the charger body to the mounting location with appropriate fixings.
- Route the power supply cable to the appropriate length to be able to connect to the terminals.
- Terminate the supply cable in the appropriate manner and connect to the pedestal.
- Make sure all cable connections are secure and have not become loose or damaged in transit or during installation. Make sure all debris is removed from the front and rear halves of the charger body and that no debris is present on any of the components.
- The wall Charger is supplied with a protective film, once installation is complete it is advised to remove the film.
NOTE: It is the responsibility of the installing professional to satisfy themselves, that all cable terminations throughout this product are secure and tight and have not become loose, strained, or disconnected during transit and/or installation.
TESTING:
WARNING: Testing may require power to be applied whilst the front panel
is removed. If this is not required, replace the front panel now.
- Switch on the power to the unit and test in accordance with the current Electrical Wiring Regulations.
- Make sure the product has been installed in compliance with the current Electrical Wiring Regulations (including recommended earthing arrangements).
- Make sure you are satisfied that the installation is complete and is in a safe condition.
- Refit the front panel, taking care not to trap any electrical cables. Secure the panel with the fixings removed earlier in the process.
AFTER INSTALLATION:
Make sure this manual and any other relevant documentation is given to the end
user.
OPERATION
- Pull up beside the charging point and turn off the vehicle. Ensure the Charge Status Indicator is Steady Blue.
- Check your vehicle is unlocked with no charge settings / timers turned on.
- Plug the Type 2 Male end into the charging unit.
- Plug the Type 1/Type 2 Female end in the vehicle’s charging port. The Charge Status Indicator will illuminate Green when charging is in progress.
- Lock your vehicle and leave to charge. The cable will also be locked into position if your vehicle supports this feature.
- Once charging is complete, remove the plug from the vehicle first, then the charging unit.
MAINTENANCE
CAUTION: To avoid damage to the surface finish, and/or internal components do not use
- Abrasive Materials
- Mineral or Petroleum Solvents / Degreasers
- Hose Pipes, Jet Washers, or Steam Cleaners
- Regularly clean the external surfaces of the equipment with a damp cloth.
- Regularly inspect the exterior of the product for any damage.
- If damage visible affects safety to anyone, isolate power to the product, and prevent its use until necessary repairs have been made.
- Once a year, the product should be electrically tested by a certified electrician, in compliance with current laws for the installation location. It is necessary to keep a record of the tests and their outcomes.
- If the equipment fails the test, isolate power to the product, and prevent its use until necessary repairs have been made.
NOTE: The charger enclosure does not need to be opened for routine mantence tasks.
- In the event of any equipment issues, contact the professional installer first.
- The manufacturer warranty does not cover damage to the device caused by overuse, lack of maintenance, improper maintenance, or modification.
DISPOSAL
In accordance with European Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and
electronic equipment and its implementation in national law, used electrical
devices must be collected separately and recycled in an environmental
responsible manner. Ensure you dispose of your product using an authorised
collection and disposal system. Failure to comply with the EU Directive may
result in a negative impact on the environment.
