Product Overview

The HUAWEI WATCH KIDS 4 Pro (hereinafter referred to as the watch) is a smart kids watch that integrates a diversified range of functions such as two-way calls, video calls, photography, AI positioning, chatting, step counts, task rewards, emergency calls, fun workouts, fast charging, long battery life, workout battles and pool swimming mode. The watch supports the following functions:

• 9 AI positioning modes
• Safe zone, and SOS emergency calls
• 50-meter water resistance
• Loss reports
• Find watch
• Watch overuse prevention
• Voice and video calls
• Chatting and shaking to add friends
• Fast charging, long battery life, and ultra power saving mode
• Natural light detection

Product Functions and Applications

Connecting to a phone

1. Download and install the HUAWEI FamCare app on a phone. For iOS users, sign in to the App Store, search for “HUAWEI FamCare”, and download the app. For Android users, search for “HUAWEI FamCare” in HUAWEI AppGallery and download the app.
2. Scan the QR code on the watch screen to link the HUAWEI FamCare app with the watch.

Two-way calls

The watch supports two-way voice calls between your kid and contacts in the HUAWEI FamCare app. When receiving an incoming voice call from one of the contacts, the kid can choose to answer or reject the call. If Rejecting calls from strangers is enabled in the HUAWEI FamCare app, the watch will automatically reject calls from numbers that have not been saved as contacts.

• A maximum of 10 administrators and 200 contacts (including the administrator contacts) can be added to Contacts.
• Contacts’ names, numbers, and profile pictures can be edited in the HUAWEI FamCare app.
• A call record is generated after a call is answered.
• The Rejecting calls from strangers feature is enabled by default.

9 AI positioning modes

The watch is equipped with a GNSS chip to support multiple positioning methods such as GPS, BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS), and GLONASS.
The watch uses the Huawei’s NLP positioning algorithm that integrates multi- source maps to intelligently deliver optimal positioning. For frequently visited locations, the self-learning algorithm helps reduce positioning deviations.
You can monitor the position of the watch user in the following ways:

• Check and view the accurate location of the watch in real time.
• Set a safe zone. When the watch enters or leaves the safe zone that you have set, the HUAWEI FamCare app will receive a notification.

Natural light detection

The watch adopts the Huawei’s proprietary algorithms and uses the ALS+UV+GPS sensors to monitor natural light data. The data is then used to remind users to do outdoor workouts, consequently preventing near-sightedness and promoting bone growth.

Photos and videos

The watch features a 5 MP front camera and an 85° ultra-wide angle, which can be used to recognize faces, take photos, record videos, and attach built-in or cloud stickers to photos.
The cloud stickers are generally updated every month depending on holidays.

Video calls

The watch features a 5 MP front camera with a resolution of 480 x 360 pixels that supports video calls with family and friends.

NOTE
The video call feature with friends is enabled by default and can be disabled in the HUAWEI FamCare app.

Chatting

Kids can use their watches to chat with their parents, family, and friends.
They can send images, videos, and voice messages while chatting. Voice- changing technology is also provided for chatting between kids to be even more fun.
Even more image emoticons are now available on the cloud for:

• Family group chats, friend group chats, and one-to-one chats
• Sending voice messages, emoticons, images, and videos

SOS emergency calls

The watch supports SOS emergency calls. In the event of an emergency, the user can press and hold the FUN button on the watch for five seconds to enable the SOS emergency call function. Once this function is enabled, the watch will call the primary administrator. If the primary administrator does not answer the call, the watch will call other administrators in sequence until the call is answered. This process will repeat up to three times. At the same time, the camera function will be enabled in the background to upload three photos of the surrounding environment (one photo every five seconds) to a family group chat.

NOTE

• When an administrator answers the call, the SOS emergency call will stop.
• If Hang up is touched on the watch screen, the SOS emergency call will stop.

Activity records and step count rankings

The watch can automatically identify activities and record durations.
It also provides the following features:

• Step counts and goal achievements
• Friends’ and administrators’ step count rankings

NOTE
If you are using a non-Huawei phone and have not installed the Huawei Health app, you will not be able to obtain step count data.

Rope jumping

There are two modes for using the watch’s built-in rope jumping app: one- minute rope jumping and free rope jumping. Rope jumping battles are now supported for both modes. The watch intelligently detects rope jumping times based on the Huawei’s proprietary rope jumping algorithm.
The watch evaluates the rope jumping results to help kids get better at rope jumping based on the National student physical health standard. Rope jumping helps kids develop their cardiopulmonary system, exercise wrist and lower limb strength, improve coordination, and consolidate cognitive skills.

Sit-ups

The watch’s built-in sit-up app can be used in one-minute sit-up mode. Sit-up battles are also supported. The watch intelligently detects sit-ups using the Huawei’s proprietary sit-up algorithm and helps kids improve their sit-up performance, exercise their abdominal muscles, and improve their health.

Swimming

The watch adopts 5ATM water-resistant components, especially in the sealing design of the buttons. It has passed Huawei’s strict water-resistance test and supports 50-meter deep swimming and diving. The speaker drains water with one touch. It can play sound just like normal after swimming.
The watch’s built-in swimming app can identify four swimming strokes and record scientific data such as the number of strokes, swimming distance, laps, swimming duration, and calories burned, and can also display swimming statistics.
Pool swimming strokes include breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly stroke, and backstroke.

Workout battles

The watch’s built-in workout battle app supports rope jumping battles, step count battles, and sit-up battles. Users can simply shake their watch to start identifying surrounding watches that also support this feature. Users can then make more friends and have more fun during workouts.
Data is automatically saved and can be viewed anytime to remember fun workout battles.

Task rewards

You can set tasks in Reward in the HUAWEI FamCare app and release the tasks. Your kids can apply for new tasks by simply touching Reward on the watch.

NOTE

• You can set the number of times that kids are praised in the HUAWEI FamCare app. The task is complete when they are praised the specified number of times.
• The HUAWEI FamCare app will receive a notification when kids apply for a reward on the watch.

Shaking to add friends

Kids and their friends can add each other as friends by shaking their watches at the same time.

NOTE
Only Huawei kids watches support this feature.

Connecting to Bluetooth earphones

The watch can be connected to Bluetooth earphones to listen to music and make calls.

Updates

The watch supports online updates. When a new version is detected, the watch will remind users to download and install the update package to complete the OTA update.

NOTE

• You can use the HUAWEI FamCare app to check whether a new version is available on your watch.
  If a new version is available, you can update the watch to the latest version.

• Ensure that the battery level of your watch is higher than 30% during the update.
