carts, and so forth may fall over and cause injury. Don’t allow children to
climb on or play with the television and its surroundings. Don’t place the TV
on furniture that can used as steps, such as a chest of drawers. Remember that
children can become excited while watching a program, especially on a “larger
than life” flat-panel display. Place or install the TV where it cannot be
pushed, pulled, or knocked down. Route all cords and cables connected to the
flat-panel display so that they cannot be pulled or grabbed by curious
children.

SAFETY: ELECTRICAL GROUNDING
DANGER: ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD
Touching the internal components of this device can cause serious personal
injury or even death. Do not disassemble this unit.
Improper use of the grounding plug can result in electric shock. Do not plug
the TV into an outlet unless the outlet is properly installed and grounded.
THREE-PRONGED (GROUNDING) PLUG
This unit must be used with a properly installed and grounded 100-240 volt
50/60 Hz, 20 amp AC outlet.
In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of
electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current. This unit
is equipped with a grounding-wire cord with a third, round grounding plug.
Consult a qualified electrician or serviceman if the grounding instructions
are not completely understood or if doubt exists as to whether the unit is
properly grounded.
If an extension cord is used with this unit:
- The marked electrical rating of the cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the unit.
- The extension cord must be a grounding-type 3-wire cord
- The extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

- When you connect the product to other equipment, turn off the power and unplug all of the equipment from the wall outlet. Failure to do so may cause an electric shock and serious personal injury. Read the owner’s manual of the other equipment carefully and follow the instructions when making any connections.
- Sudden high volume sound may cause hearing or speaker damage. When you use headphones (if the unit is equipped with a headphone jack) keep the volume at a moderate level. If you use headphones continuously with high volume sound, it may cause hearing damage.
- Do not allow the product to output distorted sound for an extended period of time. It may cause speaker overheating and fire.
- If the LCD TV is broken, DO NOT touch the liquid in the panel. This may cause skin inflammation. If the liquid gets in your mouth, immediately gargle and seek medical attention. If the liquid gets in your eyes or touches your skin, rinse for at least 15 minutes or longer in clean water and seek medical attention.
- Lastly, this reminder is provided to call the cable TV system installer’s attention to Article 820-40 of the NEC that provides guidelines for proper grounding and, in particular, specifies that the cable ground shall be connected to the grounding system of the building, as close to the point of cable entry as practical.

jpg images, mp3 files or text files, Selecting USB Media Player in this menu
will open a separate menu where you may choose what to view or play from the
USB drive.
THE MAIN MENU SYSTEM
Press MENU to enter the TV’s main menu system. There are 6 primary sections:
Press ◄ / ► buttons to select one of the above sections and press ENTER to
select it.
While in a menu, press ▲ / ▼ to select a setting and ENTER to select it. Then,
use the ◄/► buttons to change the setting.
When in the TV’s menu, you can always press MENU again to exit the menu, or
EXIT to go back to the previous menu.
Note: The available options in the menu system may vary depending on the
specific TV model that you have.
Let’s cover what each of the six menus do.
THE PICTURE MENU
This is a commonly used menu that we will cover in detail.
Picture Mode
Select between pre-set color modes for the TV.
Brightness
Change the picture’s detail in dark colors.
Contrast
Change the difference between dark and bright elements.
Color
Adjust the saturation and amount of color in the picture.
Tint
Changes the white balance of the color (this only works in user mode).
Adjusting tint will affect the skin tone. -50 Will increase red, +50 will
increase green.
Sharpness
Sharpness is often not adjusted, but it will increase / decrease image
sharpness. Less sharpness gives a smoother but slightly more blurry image
Color Temperature
This feature adjusts the color “temperature” between warm, normal or cool.
Advanced Settings (available in the “Advanced Setting” menu)
- Aspect ratio changes the shape of the TV’s video to adjust to different movie or picture formats. Use this if the image in a film is stretched. Do not forget to change it back as needed. Aspects include wide, zoom, cinema, ornormal.
- Noise reduction reduces digital artifacts by blurring the image.
- Dynamic contrast allows the TV to automatically adjust the contrast of the picture.
- HDMI mode may be a better way to change the picture size or aspect ration when the video source is HDMI.
SOUND MENU
If you are using only the speakers inside the television and aren’t using
separate / external speakers, you should not need to adjust much in this menu.
TIME MENU
This menu is where you can set the clock format and time zone for your
television, as well as a sleep timer. For example, you can set a timer to turn
the television off in 60 minutes automatically if you are settling in for bed.
SETUP MENU
From this screen, you can configure all of the text items that the TV displays
for you on-screen. You can change the language or appearance of the entire
menu, rename
the input sources, or restore all settings to the factory default. OSD means
“On Screen Display”.
You may also launch the Setup Wizard from here if you are using the TV for the
first time. This guides you through some of the basic setup of the clock and
will scan for channels. You can do this separately in the menus described in
this section, so the wizard is not completely necessary.
SETUP (CONTINUED)
There may also be a PC settings menu available that allows you to adjust the
picture when you connect a PC, as some computers may send an image to the TV
that is not perfectly centered. In Other Settings, you can configure Voice
Guidance, or TTS (Tex t to Speech), which will speak the menu system and text
of the TV for those that prefer an audio version of the menu. You can also
configure HDMI CEC or HDMI ARC here if your input source/device supports it.
Info on this can be found in the device’s user manual and on the internet.
LOCK MENU
In this menu, you can set a parental lock, which will require a password to be
required for certain types of content ratings. Note that this may not
automatically work for all
types of channels. Other sources such as DVDs, PCs, or streaming media sticks
may not present the rating of their content to the television. Those devices
usually have their
own parental guidance systems.
CHANNEL MENU
From this screen, you can set the channel selector for Cable TV or Air
(Antenna), as well as scan for available channels. You can also hide or label
certain channels as desired.
ADDITIONAL CARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Clean only with a dry cloth

- Stock tickers or text that does not move
- Video game patterns
- Black bars (when not watching any programs)
- PC Displays
- Anything else that leaves the same static image on the screen for an extended period of time
Your warranty does not cover this type of damage.
CONDENSATION
Moisture may form on the unit if it is moved from cool surroundings into a warm room or if the temperature of the room rises suddenly. When this happens, the unit’s performance will be impaired. To prevent this, let the unit stand in its new surroundings for about an hour before switching it on, or make sure that the room temperature rises gradually.
TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
PROBLEM | POSSIBLE CAUSE |
---|---|
No Power | Check to see if the AC cord of the television is properly plugged |
into the outlet. If there is still no power, remove the AC cord and replug
after 60 seconds. Attempt to power on the TV again. Ensure the same outlet
works with other electronics.

Try to select other channels to be sure the issue is not with the channel.
Check to be sure the antenna or cables are connected properly.
Horizontal or diagonal lines on screen| If using an antenna, check to be sure
the antenna at the back of the unit is connected properly. Make sure the video
connection is secure and no nearby units (vacuum, hairdryer) are being used.
TV does not respond to the remote| Point the remote directly to the sensor on
the TV. Make sure the remote has fresh batteries.
No Video in PC mode| Check connections. Check the computer video mode setting
for compatible display resolutions. Refer to the PC Settings described in this
