SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Heed all warnings on the product and in the instruction manual.
  • For your safety, read and follow this manual carefully to ensure proper use of the product and avoid any danger or physical damage.
  • CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT REMOVE ANY CO-VER. NO USER-SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE REFER ANY SERVICING TO QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL.
  • Heed all warnings – on the product and in the user guide
  • Do not use this apparatus near water or moisture
  • Do not use this product near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, and laundry tub, in a wet basement, near a swimming pool, or anywhere else that water or moisture is present.
  • Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  • Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time to prevent damage to this product.
  • Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel
  • To prevent risk of fire or electric shock, avoid overloading wall outlets, extension cords or integral convenience receptacles.
  • The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc.
  • No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus
  • Keep the appliance away from rain and any moisture. Do not place the unit in moist and humid conditions, which could lead to malfunction.
  • When the unit is suddenly moved from a cold environment to a warm one, if moisture forms inside it, it may not operate properly. To correct this problem, wait about one hour for the moisture to evaporate.
  • Do not expose the unit under direct sunlight or nearby objects that radiate heat to avoid damaging the unit.
  • The apparatus should be used in a moderate climate.
  • Ensure a minimum distance of 0.1 meters around the apparatus for sufficient ventilations.
  • The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing, no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.
  • Servicing – Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
  • Damage Requiring Service – Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:
    • If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the product; if the product has been exposed to rain or water.
    • If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions as improper adjustment may result in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to resto-re the product to its normal operation.
  • Use suitable power sources. Plug the product into a suitable power source, as described in the operating instructions or as marked on the product.

GETTING STARTED

CONNECTION AND PREPARATION

Connect the power adaptor to the back of device and plug it into power socket. Pull out the rod DAB/FM antenna for DAB and FM reception. Set the ON/OFF Switch button, which is located on the back of the device, to ON. Turn on the device by pressing the button. The first time the DAB Digital Radio is switched, it will start up DAB mode. The device will automatically scan for the available radio stations. The display will show < Scanning > a slide bar that indicates the progress of the scan, and the total number of stations found so far. When the scan is finished the radio will play the first alphanu- merically found station.

NOTE: If the radio does not find any stations, < No DAB Station > will be displayed.
Press STATIONS to display the list of tuned stations. Rotate and press the SELECT knob to choose the station.

Connecting the headphones
Turn the volume down before using the headphones. Inset the headphone plug (standard 3,5 mm) into the headphone socket at the front of the device.

GENERAL DEVICE FUNCTIONS

  • Power on/off
    Press to switch to standby mode. The time, date and any active alarm times display on the screen. Switch on with the same button.

  • Mode selection
    Press the MODE repeatedly to select mode.

    • Digital Radio Listen to a DAB+ radio station.
    • FM Listen to an FM radio station.
    • Bluetooth Listening to a Bluetooth device.

Menu operation
Press and hold MENU to open the menu. Press again to close the menu and return to playing screen. On the menu, rotate the SELECT knob to move along the entries. Press the SELECT to confirm. Press to step back.

Volume
Rotate the SELECT / VOLUME knob to adjust the volume.

Presets
To store a radio preset, press and hold PRESET, the display shows the < Save to Preset > screen. Rotate the SELECT knob elect one of the 10 presets, press the SELECT to confirm. To recalling a preset, press PRESET, the display shows the < Preset Recall >. Select one of the listed preset stations, press SELECT to confirm.
When a preset station is playing, it shows 1, 2, etc. at the bottom of the screen.

Now playing information
When listening to a DAB+ or FM radio station, you can change the information that is displayed on the screen by pressing the SELECT knob.
Press and hold the SELECT knob in DAB+ mode to view the picture or information in
the full-screen size.

DAB RADIO SETTINGS

Full scan
This function allows searching all DAB stations.
NOTE: When the scan is finished, the device will return to the station played before the scan was initiated but any new stations found will have been added.

  • Manual tune
    This function allows you to manually tune in DAB stations. Set the desired frequency and start tuning.

  • Prune Invalid
    This function allows unavailable stations (marked with „?“) to be removed from the station list.

  • DRC
    If you are listening to music with a high dynamic range in a noisy environment, you may wish to compress the audio dynamic range. This makes quiet sounds louder, and loud sounds quieter. You can change DRC as off, low or high.

FM RADIO SETTINGS

Manual tune
To search manually, firstly press STATIONS to switch the SELECT knob function from volume control to manual tune and the display will show < Start tune > then rotate the knob to do manual tune.
NOTE: When show on the display, you can press or rotate the knob to search FM station. And you can use knob to adjust the volume when , disappeared.

Scanning for stations
To achieve auto search, press and hold the SELECT knob, and the radio starts to scan up or down the frequency band and it will stop automatically once the station has been found.
NOTE: To change the scan method (up or down) press STATIONS. When show on the display, rotate the knob upwards first then hold and press the knob to scan up the frequency band; rotate the knob downwards first then hold and press the knob to scan down the frequency band.

Scan setting
By default, FM scans stop at any available station. This may result in a poor signal-to-noise ratio (hiss) from weak stations. To change the scan settings to stop only at stations with good signal strength, select < Strong station only >.

Audio setting
All stereo stations are reproduced in stereo. For weak stations, this may result in a poor signal–to-noise ratio (hiss). If signal is weak, set < Forced mono > to < Yes > to get better sound quality.

USING THE BLUETOOTH

Press MODE repeatedly to select Bluetooth mode. Turn on the Bluetooth of your device and choose the pairing name “DAB 800BTC” and click it for pairing, there will be prompt sound “Connected” if the Bluetooth connection is successful.

  • You can press to go to the previous track or next track.
  •  You can press SELECT to play or pause the music playback.
    Disconnecting a Bluetooth device
    You can press and hold SELECT to disconnect the existing pairing and pair with new device.
SLEEP SETTING

To set the sleep timer, select < Sleep > under the System Settings menu. Choose from Sleep Time Off, 15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes and press SELECT button to confirm. To returns to the now playing screen press .

ALARM SETTING
NOTE: Check that the radio has the correct time and date before you set an alarm.
To set the alarm, select < Alarm > under the System Settings menu.

  • Select “Alarm 1” or “Alarm 2” and press SELECT to confirm.

  • To turn the alarm On/Off, select “Alarm“ and press SELECT.
    NOTE : Press SELECT to confirm each following step.

  • “Frequency” of the alarm (options are: Daily, Once, Weekends or Weekdays).

  • “Wake Up Time” (hour, minute). Rotate the SELECT knob to set the desired alarm time.

  • “Source” (options are: Buzzer, Digital Radio or FM).

  • “Duration” of the alarm (options are: 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 minutes).

  •  “Volume” of the alarm.
    NOTE: The alarm volume will increase progressively until it reaches the alarm volume you have set.

TURN OFF ALARM
Once alarm is ringing, you can press to turn off the alarm.

SNOOZE FUNCTION
When the alarm sounds, you can press SELECT to go to snooze. The default time for this function is 5 minutes.
NOTE: You can press to stop the Snooze function.

SYSTEM SETTINGS

Equalizer
Several preset modes are available: Normal, Classic, Jazz, Pop, Rock, Speech, and My EQ. To create a user-defined setting choose “My EQ setup”.

Time/Date
If there is any DAB radio signal, the device will automatically update the time.
The time can also be set manually if there is no signal.

NOTE : Press SELECT to confirm each following step.

  • “Set Time/Date”. Rotate the SELECT knob to set the time and date.

  • “Auto update” (options are: from Any, from Digital Radio, from FM, No update)

  •  “Set 12/24 hour” (options are: 24 hour or 12 hour).

  • “Set Date Format” (options are: DD-MM-YYYY or MM-DD-YYYY).
    Backlight
    You may change the backlight of each environment (power on level or dim level) and adjust the timeout duration which the radio turns to dim backlight level when it has not been controlled.

  • “Timeout” (options are: off, 10 -180 sec)

  • “On level” (options are: High, Medium, Low)

  • “Dim level” (options are: High, Medium, Low)
    Language

  • You can select the language for menus and options.
    Factory reset

  • Resetting removes all presets, stored stations, alarms and resets all other options to default settings.
    Software update

  • For information on available updates, visit our website.
    SW version

  • Press SELECT to view the system software version.
