General Safety

WARNING! This tool is not intended for use by children or by unassisted, unsupervised persons whose physical, sensory or mental capabilities prevent them from using it safely. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the tool.
Before starting up your tool, please check it carefully for any defects. If you find any, do not start up your tool. Instead, contact your authorized Snow Joe® + Sun Joe® dealer or call the Snow Joe® + Sun Joe® customer service center at 1-866-SNOWJOE (1-866-766-9563).

WARNING! When using the tool, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of electric shock and personal injury. These include:

  • Work area – Always inspect the work area for obstructions or hazards.
  • Stay away from power lines – Keep at least 50 feet away from power lines. Do not touch or aim water at electrical wiring of any kind.
  • Avoid adjustments while in use – Do not extend or retract the sky lance, change nozzles or accessories while the tool is in use or under pressure.
  • Shut down – Prior to performing any adjustments, maintenance or when not in use, turn off the pressure washer, shut off the water supply, point the nozzle in a safe direction, and pull the trigger to release the water pressure before making any changes.
  • Stay alert – Watch what you are doing. Use common sense. Do not use the tool on a ladder or scaffolding. Do not work when you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or other medication.
  • Tripping hazard – Keep the high pressure hose clear of the working area. Avoid stepping or tripping over the hose.
  • Slipping hazard – Never run while operating the tool. Maintain proper footing and balance at all times to avoid slipping or falling. Wear non-slip footwear to improve your footing on slippery surfaces.
  • Avoid unintentional discharge – Do not carry a connected tool with your hand on the trigger. Make sure the safety switch is engaged before connecting to the pressure washer.
  • Do not exceed specifications – Do not exceed the maximum rated pressure, temperature or flow rate listed in the technical data.
    Inspect the tool – Visually inspect the tool for any loose fasteners or blocked connections.

  1. Carefully remove the sky lance and check to see that all of the above items are supplied.
  2. Inspect the product carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping. If you find damaged or missing parts, DO NOT return the unit to the store. Please call the Snow Joe® + Sun Joe® customer service center at 1- 866-SNOWJOE (1-866-766-9563).
    NOTE: Do not discard the shipping carton and packaging material until you are ready to use the sky lance. The packaging is made of recyclable materials. Properly dispose of these materials in accordance with local regulations or save the packaging for long-term product storage.

IMPORTANT! The equipment and packaging material are not toys. Do not let children play with plastic bags, foils, or small parts. These items can be swallowed and pose a suffocation risk!

Assembly
  1. Connect the lance sections together. Feed the hose attached to the brush mount thorugh all the sections. Use the cam-locks to fix them in place (Fig. 1).

  2. Insert the end of the hose into the valve and fix it in place using the U-pin (Fig. 2).

  3. Open the cam-lock and slide the brush mount forwards (Fig. 3).

  4. Screw the brush onto the brush mount so that it is facing down, in line with the quick-connect collar (Fig. 4).

  5. Turn the lock nut clockwise until tight against the base of the brush (Fig. 5).

  6. Adjust the distance between the brush and the quick-connect collar before closing the cam-lock (Fig. 3).

  7. Attach the shoulder strap to the sky lance and secure in place using the thumb screw (Fig. 6).

  8. Snap the desired nozzle onto the Quick-Connect collar until it clicks into place (Fig. 7).
    NOTE: Nozzles are not included with this tool. Visit snowjoe.com for pressure washer quick-connect nozzles.

  9. Connect the high-pressure hose from your pressure washer to the water inlet on the bottom of the sky lance (Fig. 8). Alternatively, use the quick-connect to M22 high-pressure hose adapter for use with a quick-connect high-pressure hose (Fig. 9).

Operation

  1. Use the cam-locks to adjust the sky lance to your desired length.
    NOTE: Never extend the lance sections beyond the lines marked in red.

  2. Slide the safety switch forward before pulling the trigger to begin spraying (Fig. 10).

  3. When extended, the sky lance can become very heavy. Keep a solid footing and use the shoulder strap to pivot the nozzle onto the cleaning area (Fig. 11).

  4. When not in use, slide the safety switch backwards to lock the trigger and disconnect the sky lance from your pressure washer.
    NOTE: Always engage the safety switch before moving or adjusting the sky lance.

Maintenance + Storage

WARNING! Only perform the repairs and maintenance work described in this manual. Any other work must be performed by a qualified technician.
WARNING! Do not use detergents, acids, alkaline solutions, bleaches or solvents such as acetone to clean your tool. These substances may damage the plastic housing of the tool.

  • Check for worn or damaged parts. Replace worn parts as necessary or contact the Snow Joe® + Sun Joe® customer service center at 1-866-SNOWJOE (1-866-766-9563) for repairs before using the product again.
  • Store the tool and its accessories in a dry, frost-free, and well-ventilated place out of the reach of children.

ABOVE ALL ELSE, Snow Joe, LLC (“Snow Joe”) is dedicated to you, our customer. We strive to make your experience as pleasant as possible. Unfortunately, there are times when a Snow Joe®, Sun Joe®, or Aqua Joe® product (“Product”) does not work or breaks under normal operating conditions. We think it’s important that you know what you can expect from us. That’s why we have a Limited Warranty (“Warranty”) for our Products.

OUR WARRANTY:
Snow Joe warrants new, genuine, powered and non-powered Products to be free from defects in material or workmanship when used for ordinary household use for a period of two years from the date of purchase by the original, end-user purchaser when purchased from Snow Joe or from one of Snow Joe’s authorized sellers with proof of purchase. Because Snow Joe is unable to control the quality of its Products sold by unauthorized sellers, unless otherwise prohibited by law, this Warranty does not cover Products purchased from unauthorized sellers. If your Product does not work or there’s an issue with a specific part that is covered by the terms of this Warranty, Snow Joe will elect to either (1) send you a free replacement part, (2) replace the Product with a new or comparable product at no charge, or (3) repair the Product. How cool is that!
This Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State.

PRODUCT REGISTRATION:
Snow Joe strongly encourages you to register your Product. You can register online at snowjoe.com/register, or by printing and mailing in a registration card available online from our website, or by calling our Customer Service Department at 1-866-SNOWJOE (1-866-766-9563), or by e-mailing us at help@snowjoe.com. Failure to register your Product will not diminish your warranty rights. However, registering your Product will allow Snow Joe to better serve you with any of your customer service needs.

WHO CAN SEEK LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGE:
This Warranty is extended by Snow Joe to the original purchaser and original owner of the Product.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED?
This Warranty does not apply if the Product has been used commercially or for non-household or rental applications. This Warranty also does not apply if the Product was purchased from an unauthorized seller. This Warranty also does not cover cosmetic changes that do not affect performance. Wearing parts like belts, augers, chains and tines are not covered under this Warranty, and can be purchased at snowjoe.com or by calling 1-866-SNOWJOE (1-866-766-9563).
