PLEASE READ BEFORE PROCEEDING
PerTroniex© thanks you for choosing a JBA Performance Exhaust Product. To realize the potential of JBA’s engineering and excellent fit, Please Read and Understand these instructions completely prior to starting the installation.
Check that you received all the parts listed on the parts list, if you have any concerns, please contact PerTronix before continuing. Headers will have the part number stamped in the flange.
Work Smart — Work Safe! Most Header and Exhaust Installation are best performed on a lift. If a lift is not available, raise the vehicle and support on quality Jack Stands on level ground. Do not rely on a jack!
We use sealing beads on all our headers. The raised bead creates a better seal virtually eliminating leaks if installed properly. It is important to install all header bolts lightly snug and then tighten to factory torque specs starting in the center and working outward.
Before starting, allow the vehicle to cool, disconnect the battery, and spray a penetrating oil on all

  1. hardware and fittings that will need to be removed. Once you remove your manifold, clean the sealing St sW surface on the head of any old gasket debris or carbon build up.
  2. Remove the plastic covers that are on top of the valve covers. These just pull off in an upward manner. Remove the spark plug wires and the spark plugs. Remove the  bolt that holds the dipstick to the motor.
  3. Unbolt the pinch bolt that holds the steering shaft to the steering gear and move the shaft out of the way.
  4. Unbolt the factory manifolds from the cylinder heads and remove the manifolds. They will lift out from the top. The Driver’s side manifold will have a donut gasket  pushed into the manifold, remove this for re-use.
  5. Remove any carbon deposits left on the exhaust flange-mating surface of the head. Thoroughly clean the surface with solvent or another cleaner. Remove the doughnut- shaped gasket from the lower flange (where the manifold bolts to the exhaust system).
  6. Insert the donut gasket into the driver’s side header – it should be a tight slip fit. If it won’t slip in, file the inside of the collector flange slightly until it does seat all the way.
  7. Using the supplied fasteners, bolt the Header to the Y pipe, 2” bolts on the drivers side, and 1.5” on the passenger side. Reuse the factory gaskets on both sides.
  8. On the passenger side, you will need to replace the spark plug boots on the first and third plug wires (cylinders 2 & 6) with the JBA supplied 90° terminal and boot. Reinstall spark plugs and wires.
  9. Bolt the steering shaft back in place. Bolt the dipstick back to the motor. Reinstall the plastic coil covers.
  10. Start the engine and let it warm up. Check for leaks. Shut engine off and let it cool down. Check to make sure all fasteners are tight.
  11. Periodically check and retighten the header bolts.
