Product Usage Instructions
- Park the vehicle on a flat surface and allow to cool for atleast 30 minutes before starting installation.
- Locate the stock exhaust system and remove all components from the intermediate pipe back to the tailpipe.
- Install the new intermediate pipe by sliding one of the clampsover the muffler inlet then slip the new JBA intermediate pipe into the muffler inlet. Attach the JBA intermediate pipe to the stock Y Pipe flange using the two supplied flange nuts, do not fully tighten the nuts at this time. Tighten the clamp at the inlet side of the muffler. You MAY have to shorten the intermediate pipe depending on your engine size.
- Install the new muffler by slipping the clamps over the muffler outlet then slip the muffler onto the over axle pipe and mount the muffler to the hanger on the frame. Do not tighten the clamp at this time.
- Install the new tailpipe by slipping the clamps over the inlet side of the tailpipe. Slip the pipe onto the over axle pipe.
- Tighten the two nuts at the front flange evenly until tight.
- Check the alignment of the over axle pipe making sure it is clear of any hoses or wiring. Tighten the clamp at the outlet of the muffler once everything is aligned.
- Align the rear Chrome Tip pipe so that it clears the body and looks aesthetically pleasing. Once you are satisfied with the position, tighten the clamp.
- Check to make sure that everything is clear of any hoses or wiring, and the spare tire.
- Check that all clamps are good and tight.
- Take the truck for a short test drive and check for leaks and rattles. If everything is correct, we strongly recommend that you tack weld all the connections to ensure that they do not work loose while driving.
Notes:
- All exhaust systems expand about 1 rearward when exhaust temperature rises. Keep this in mind when mounting components.
- Use anti-seize on threads of clamps.
This product is considered a Replacement part per CARB and EPA regulations for emissions compliance and is legal for sale and use on all vehicles in all 50 states when installed according to the Manufacturer’s Application Guide and Installation Instructions.

Work Smart • Work Safe! Most Exhaust Installations are best performed on a
lift. If a lift iS not available, raise the vehicle and support on quality
Jack Stands on level ground. Do not rely on a jack!
to Before starting, allow the vehicle to cool, disconnect the battery, and
spray penetrating oil on all hardware and fittings that will need to be
removed. Silicone spray on rubber hangers will make them easier to remove and
install.
- Remove the two nuts that hold the front of the intermediate pipe to the stock Y Pipe.
- Remove the clamp that holds the intermediate pipe to the factory muffler and remove the pipe.
- Remove the remainder of the original exhaust system by careful prying the hangers from the rubber mounts. WD40 will really help. You may have to cut the tail pipe from the muffler section to ease removal.
- Mount the over axle pipe to the truck using the two hangers that are on the pipe to the original rubber mounts.
- Slip the clamps over the muffler outlet then slip the muffler onto the over axle pipe and mount the muffler to the hanger on the frame. Do not tighten the clamp at this time.
- Slide one of the clamps over the muffler inlet then slip the New JBA intermediate pipe into the muffler inlet. Attach the JBA intermediate pipe to the stock Y Pipe flange using the two supplied flange nuts, do not fully tighten the nuts at this time. Tighten the clamp at the inlet side of the muffler. You MAY have to shorten the intermediate pipe depending on your engine size.
- Slip the clamps over the inlet side of the tail pipe. Slip the pipe onto the over axle pipe.
- Tighten the two nuts at the front flange evenly until tight.

JBA LIMITED WARRANTY
All JBA Headers and Exhaust products are guaranteed, to the original
purchaser, to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for one year.
This warranty coversthe replacement or repair of the product only and does not
cover the cost of removal and installation, customer applied aftermarket
coatings or any discoloration or corrosion of finished surfaces.
Damage or product failure resulting from collision, improper installation,
off-road use, road hazards, the use of exhaust insulating wrap or like
products or rust occurring after installation, is not covered by the warranty.
The warranty extends only to the original purchaser.
Should a part become defective it should be returned to the original selling
retailer and must be accompanied with the sales receipt. If there is no
retailer in your area, call the factory for a return authorization and return
your part prepaid to the factory for inspection. PerTronix reserves the rights
to replace or repair the allegeddefective part and return the part freight
collect.
