LIME FILTER
The removable lime filter prevents lime scale being poured out.
DRY RUNNING AND OVERHEATING PROTECTION
This unit is equipped with a dry running and overheating protection system. If
you ever operate the unit without any water or with too little water, the unit
shuts itself off. Wait a moment until the unit has cooled off. Fill the unit
with water and continue as usual.
CLEANING
First pull the plug out of the electric socket and let the unit cool off.
Clean the exterior of the unit with a soft, moist cloth.
If heavily soiled, you can use a mild detergent.
DECALCIFYING
Depending on the hardness degree of the water, lime scale can build up over
time on the bottom and on the interior wall of the stainless steel tank. The
harder the water, the faster the lime scale builds up. That is harmless but it
can impair the performance of the unit.
For that reason, we recommend regularly decalcifying the unit as follows
- Fill the unit three-quarters full with water.
- Boil it.
- After the unit has shut itself off, fill the unit additionally with distilled white vinegar up.
Important: Never boil this mixture!
- Let the mixture stand overnight.
- Empty the unit and rinse it out several times with clear water.
