Millennia HV-32P Portable 2 Channel Microphone Preamplifier User Guide
HV- 32P User Guide
Gain is a continuously variable gain control. It has a high gain jump near full clockwise for low level signals
Signal LEDs
indicate signal level at -30dBu (green), +8dBu (yellow) and +20dBu (red).
Ribbon-Dyn Mic DC
couples the mic to the gain stage and also provides an additional 10dB of gain. Use with any Ribbon or Dynamic mic (like an SM-57). A mic requiring phantom power will not work in this mode Pad – Attenuates the input signal after the gain stage by about 14dB.
Phantom Power
– turns the +48V phantom power supply on.
Avoid connecting or disconnecting mics with the +48V on (hot patching). This
can damage the mic, preamp and make some very loud pops that can damage your
monitoring system and ears.
External Power Supply
– The HV-35P is powered by a 12V DC, 5 amp, universal voltage (100 to 240
VAC) line lump power supply provided with the unit.
It can also be powered by Li-Ion battery packs that produce 14.8V DC and
automatically cut off at 12V DC. If it doesn’t have a cut-off circuit, it may
damage the unit.

– Do not attempt to use the HV-32P in, near, or around water or in unusually moist environments, such as near a sink or swimming pool. Prevent liquids or any other materials or objects from spilling or falling into the HV-32P unit.
Grounding
– For your safety, it is extremely important that the grounding pin of the 3-wire power cable (included with 110 Volt units) be inserted into a grounding type 3-pin power outlet. If you are unable to insert the plug into an existing outlet, contact an electrician to install a properly grounded 3-pin power outlet, preferably that with OFI / CFI protection, if available.

Reviews & Awards
Paul Vnuk – Recording Magazine
“This is essentially the third time I have reviewed this preamp, and I must
also disclose that I own and have been using an 8-Channel HV-3D for well over
12 years now…it’s a sound I know well and really appreciate. Everything that I
used to describe the HV-3 sound above holds true to these new HV-P models, and
while there are some spec differences between the older HV-3 and these, my ears
cannot detect a difference…”
Barry Rudolph – Music Connection
“In all comparisons the HV-37 was truer to the source with better definition in the bass and it had a significantly more open top end.”
Hugh Robjohns – Sound on Sound
“The HV37’s performance is, by any definition, impressive and sublime…
A good friend uses an eight-channel HV3D for a lot of his location recording work and I have often coveted the fast, detailed and silky, but fundamentally uncoloured and transparent, sound it captures. The HV37 shares that character exactly and impeccably. I was very hard-pressed to spot any significant difference between them.”Joe Satriani – Guita
“I have used the STT-1 for home and pro-studio recording for years now, and it has always been my favorite mic-pre/recording system. Now, the more streamlined HV-37 has made my DI electric guitar and bass recordings even more transparent and accurate. The headroom is wonderful, and the ease of use fantastic. I love it!”
Rich Tozzoli – Pro Audio Review The HV-37 delivers on all the adjectives you might expect to hear; it’s clean, pure, invisible and musical.” Brandon T. Hickey – MIX Magazine
“The ability to capture reality now and flavor it to taste another day is a commodity that is easy to appreciate, and the HV-37 provides the perfect go-to preamp to achieve that goal.” Paul Vnuck – Recording Magazine “Bottom line, the HV-37 always sounds good and captures every source clearly, but somehow not boringly. You may have heard of the Millennia sheen… it’s there for sure. I can’t describe it, but, man, do I love it!”
