IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Before using any electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed including the following:

  1. Read all instructions.
  2. Before using, check that the voltage of the wall outlet corresponds to the rated voltage marked on the rating plate.
  3. This appliance may be supplied with a grounded plug. In that case, please ensure the wall outlet in your house is grounded.
  4. To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons do not immerse cord, plug or machine in water or any other liquid.
  5. Remove plug from the wall outlet before cleaning and when not in use. Allow the appliance to cool down completely before taking off, attaching components or before cleaning.
  6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
  7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
  8. Place the appliance on a flat surface or table. Do not hang the power cord over the edge of the table or counter.
  9. Ensure the power cord does not touch hot surfaces or appliances.
  10. Do not place the coffee maker on hot surfaces or beside a fire in order to avoid it being damaged.
  11. To disconnect, remove the plug from the wall outlet. Always hold the plug, never pull the cord.
  12. Do not use appliance for other than its intended use and keep it in a dry environment.
  13. Close supervision is necessary when your appliance is being used near children.
  14. Be careful not to get burned by the steam.
  15. Do not touch the hot surfaces of the appliance (such as the steam wand, and the steel mesh). Use handle or knobs.
  16. Do not let the coffee maker operate without water.
  17. Scalding may occur if the water tank is removed during the brewing cycles.
  18. Do not remove the metal funnel when the appliance is brewing coffee or when steam and hot water escape from the metal funnel and ensure to release the pressure in the water tank before removing the metal funnel.
  19. Connect the plug to the wall outlet before using and turn any switch off before the plug is removed from the wall outlet.
  20. Relief pressure through the steam wand before removing the tank cover or metal funnel.
  21. This appliance is not intended for used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or without experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  22. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  23. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
  24. staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
  25. farm houses;
  26. by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
  27. bed and breakfast type environments.
  28. Do not use outdoors.
  29. Save these instructions.

Warning: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not remove any service covers. No user serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done by authorized personnel only.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Pour water into the water tank, the water level should not exceed the “MAX” mark in the tank. Then replace the water tank cover.
    Note: The appliance is supplied with a detachable tank for easy cleaning, you can fill the tank with water, and then put the tank into the appliance.

  2. Set the steel mesh into the metal funnel (no coffee powder in steel mesh).

  3. Place a jar on the removable shelf. Make sure the steam control knob is on the “OFF” or “O” position.
    Note: The appliance is not equipped with jar, please use your own jar or coffee cup.

  4. Connect to power source, Press the “ ” switch. The red lamp will be illuminated.

  5. Turn the steam control knob to the “ + ” position and press the coffee/hot water selector ” ” and the pump will start pumping water. When there is water flowing out, turn the steam control knob to the ” OFF position and wait for a moment. The appliance begins to be pre-heated. When the green lamp is illuminated, the preheating is finished.

  6. When water is not flowing out anymore, you can discard the poured water, clean the used jar or cup and then you can start brewing.
    Note: There may be noise when pumping water for the first time. This is normal, the appliance is releasing the air in the appliance. After about 20 seconds, the noise will disappear.

PREHEATING

To make a cup of good hot Espresso coffee, we recommend you preheat the appliance before making coffee, including the funnel, steel mesh and cup, so the coffee flavour is not influenced by cold parts.

  1. Remove the detachable tank and open the tank cover to fill it with water, the water level should not exceed the “MAX” mark in the tank. Then place the tank into the appliance properly.
  2. Put the steel mesh into the funnel, making sure the tube on the funnel aligns with the groove in the appliance. Then insert the funnel into the appliance from the ” ” position and fix it into the coffee maker firmly by turning it anticlockwise until it is at the “ ” position.
  3. Place an espresso cup (your cup) on the drip tray.
  4. Connect the appliance to the power supply. Make sure the steam control knob is on the “OFF” position.th
  5. Press the” ” button and then press the” ” button. When water is flowing out, close the pump (press the “ ” switch), wait for a moment, and the coffee maker is heated.

Making Espresso Coffee

  1. Remove the funnel by turning it in clockwise. Place the steel mesh into the funnel. Add ground coffee to the steel mesh with the measuring spoon (A spoon of ground coffee powder can make about a cup of top-grade coffee), then press the ground coffee powder tightly with the tamper.

  2. Make sure the tube on the funnel aligns with the groove in the appliance. Then insert the funnel into the appliance from the” “insert position and fix it to the coffee maker firmly by turning it anticlockwise until it is at the lock position.

  3. Place a cup on the removable shelf. «d

  4. Once the green light is illuminated, press the coffee/hot water selector” “, and coffee will flow out in a few seconds. If the green lamp is off, wait for a moment until it is illuminated again.
    Note: During operation, if the green indicator is off, you must close the pump and stop making espresso coffee. After a few seconds, when the green lamp is on again, you can continue making espresso coffee by l pressing the coffee/hot water selector” “. The green lamp will cycle ON and OFF to maintain the water temperature hot enough. d

  5. Press the coffee/hot water selector “ ” manually when the desired coffee is ready or the colour of the coffee changes and turns clear.
    WARNING: Do not leave the coffee maker unattended during the process of making coffee, as you may need to operate it manually sometimes!

  6. After finishing making coffee, you can take the metal funnel out by turning it clockwise and pour the coffee residue out with the steel mesh pressed by press bar.

  7. Let them cool down completely, and then rinse under running water.

Frothing Milk/ Making Cappuccino
You get a cup of cappuccino when you top up a cup of espresso with frothing milk.
Method:

  1. Prepare espresso first in a cup big enough to hold the coffee plus the milk and froth according to the “Making Espresso Coffee” section. Make sure that the steam control knob is at the “OFF” position.

  2. Press down the steam switch “ ” and wait until the green indicator is illuminated.
    Note: During operation, if the green indicator is off, you should turn the steam control knob in an anti-clockwise direction.

  3. Fill a clean cup or jar with about 100 ml of milk for each cappuccino to be prepared. We recommend you the use of whole milk at refrigerator temperature (not hot).
    Note: In choosing the size of the cup or jar, it is recommended that the diameter is not less than 70±5mm.
    Bear in mind that the milk increases in volume by 2 times, so make sure the height of the cup is enough.

  4. Turn the steam control knob slowly anti-clockwise, steam will come out from the frothing device.
    Note: Never turn the steam control button rapidly, as the steam will accumulate rapidly in short time which may increase the risk of explosion.

  5. Insert the frothing device into the milk about two centimetres, froth milk by moving the vessel round and up and down.

  6. When the required froth is ready, you can turn the steam control knob clockwise.
    Note: Clean the steam outlet and froth device with a wet sponge immediately after steam stops. Be careful to avoid burns!

  7. Pour the frothed milk into the espresso prepared; now the cappuccino is ready. Sweeten to taste and if desired, sprinkle the froth with a little cocoa powder.

  8. Press the steam switch “ “to the off position to stop working.
    Note: we recommend you allow the espresso maker to cool down for at least 5 min before making coffee again. Otherwise, a burnt odour may occur in your Espresso coffee.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Turn off power and let the coffee maker cool down completely before cleaning.

  2. Clean the coffee maker housing with a wet sponge often and clean and dry the water tank, drip tray and removable shelf regularly.
    Note: Do not clean with alcohol or solvent cleansers. Never immerse the housing in water for cleaning.

  3. Detach the metal funnel turning it anticlockwise, discard all coffee residue, and then you can wash and rinse it with clear water.

  4. Clean all the attachments with water and dry thoroughly.

Cleaning Mineral Deposits

  1. To make sure your coffee maker is operating efficiently, internal piping is clean, and you get the best coffee flavor, you should clean the mineral deposits every 2-3 months
  2. Fill the tank with water and descaler to the MAX level (the scale of water and descaler is 4:1 or follow the instructions on the descaler). Please use “household descaler”. You can also use citric acid (available from drugstores) instead of descaler (one hundred parts of water to three parts of citric acid).
  3. According to the section on pre-heating, put the funnel (with no coffee powder in it) and carafe (jug) in place. Brew water per the “Making Coffee” section.
  4. Press the “ ” button, the red lamp will be illuminated. Turn the steam control knob to the ” + ” d position and press the coffee/hot water selector” “. When there is water flowing out, close the pump (press the coffee/hot water selector to off position), wait for a moment and the coffee maker begins to be heated.
  5. When the green lamp is illuminated, it shows the heating is finished. Press the coffee/hot water selector” ” and brew about two cups of water/descaler mix (about 2Oz). Then close the pump (press the coffee/hot water selector to the off position) and wait for 5 seconds.
  6. Turn the steam control knob to the” } ” position, wait until the green indicator is illuminated. Make steam for 2 minutes, then turn the steam control knob to the “OFF” position to stop making steam. press the steam switch to the off position to stop the unit immediately; keep the descaler deposit in the unit for at least 15 minutes.
  7. Restart the unit and repeat the steps of 4-6 at least 3 times brewing water/descaler mix.
  8. Then Press the ON/OFF switch” “, when the green lamp is illuminated, press the coffee/hot water d selector to brew until no descaling is left.
  9. Finally, to clean the interior of the machine of the descaler, brew water (without coffee powder) with tap water in the MAX level, repeating the steps 4 to 6 3 times (it is not necessary to wait the 15 minutes in step 6), then brewing until no water is left in the tank.
  10. Repeat step 9 at least 3 times to make sure the machine is clean.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Symptom Cause Corrections
Water leaks from the bottom of the coffee maker, There is too much water in

the drip tray.

Please use fresh coffee powder, or store unused coffee powder in a cool, dry place. After opening a package of coffee powder, reseal it tightly and store it in a refrigerator to maintain its freshness.
The coffee maker does not work.| The power outlet is not plugged well.| Plug the power cord into a wall outlet correctly, if the appliance still does not work, please
contact the authorized service facility for repairing.
The steam cannot froth.| The steam ready indicator is not illuminated.
The container is too big or the shape does not fit. You have used skim milk| Only after the steam ready indicator is illuminated, the steam can be used to froth. Use a high and narrow cup.
Use whole milk.

Do not take apart the appliance by yourself if the cause of failure is not found. Please contact a certified service center.
