WASSERSTEIN Solar Panel for Google Nest Cam
Before installing this accessory, please first set up the Google Nest Cam (battery) using the in-box cable provided with the camera. This will ensure that you have the latest firmware.
In the Box
- 1 x solar panel and 360° mounting bracket
- 3 x screws for wall mount
- 3 x wall anchors for wall mount
- 1 x user manual
Installation
You can mount the solar panel up to 13.1 ft / 4 m (max cable length) away from your camera. For optimal performance, install your solar panel at a location where it will receive a few hours of direct sunlight daily.
Mounting the Solar Panel
You can mount the solar panel directly onto a wooden surface using the
included screws. If you are mounting it onto a brick, concrete, or stucco,
mark the holes first using the bracket, drill a hole for the anchors. You can
then insert the anchors and subsequently use the screws to secure the mount.
The drill bit size is 1/8 inches.
Slide the solar panel onto the mount until it clicks.
Note:
The 360-degree rotatable mount allows you to adjust the solar panel in the
best position to absorb sunlight.
Connecting Your Camera
Connect the Wasserstein Solar Panel to your Nest Cam with the magnetic
charging cable.
Note:
Make sure that the connector is in the right direction as shown in the
picture.
Checking your Battery Charging Status on your Nest App.
The Solar Panel will keep Nest Cam Charged at around 70%. If there is not
enough sunlight and the battery drains below 20%, it will be displayed in the
Google Home app.
The Solar panel will stop charging the Nest Cam once it reaches 70% to prolong
its battery life.

Solar panel and Nest Cam are connected – Why does the battery level drop?
- The solar panel has to be exposed to direct sunlight.
- Depending on sunlight exposure, it may take a while to see an increase in your battery percentage.
Note: In most situations, the solar panel should provide enough power to keep Nest Cam charged. The battery level will only be displayed if the camera’s battery drops below 20% or if there is not enough sunlight.

How much can I expect the solar panel to charge my Nest Cam on a full sun day?
- A 2%-3% increase after 5 hours in the sun is fairly normal.
- Note: Fully charge your camera before connecting the solar panel

Does the solar panel work on cloudy days?
Yes, it does work on cloudy days, but the output will be reduced.
