Congratulations to the purchase of this Audizio product. Please read this manual thoroughly prior to using the unit in order to benefit fully from all features.
Read the manual prior to using the unit. Follow the instructions in order not to invalidate the warranty. Take all precautions to avoid fire and/or electrical shock. Repairs must only be carried out by a qualified technician in order to avoid electrical shock. Keep the manual for future reference

  • Prior to using the unit, please ask advice from a specialist. When the unit is switched on for the first time, some smell may occur. This is normal and will disappear after a while.
  • The unit contains voltage carrying parts. Therefore do NOT open the housing.
  • Do not place metal objects or pour liquids into the unit This may cause electrical shock and malfunction.
  • Do not place the unit near heat sources such as radiators, etc. Do not place the unit on a vibrating surface. Do not cover the ventilation holes.
  • The unit is not suitable for continuous use.
  • Be careful with the mains lead and do not damage it. A faulty or damaged mains lead can cause electrical shock and malfunction.
  • When unplugging the unit from a mains outlet, always pull the plug, never the lead.
  • Do not plug or unplug the unit with wet hands.
  • If the plug and/or the mains lead are damaged, they need to be replaced by a qualified technician.
  • If the unit is damaged to such an extent that internal parts are visible, do NOT plug the unit into a mains outlet and DO NOT switch the unit on. Contact your dealer. Do NOT connect the unit to a rheostat or dimmer.
  • To avoid fire and shock hazard, do not expose the unit to rain and moisture.
  • All repairs should be carried out by a qualified technician only.
  • Connect the unit to an earthed mains outlet (220- 240Vac/50Hz) protected by a 10-16A fuse.
  • During a thunderstorm or if the unit will not be used for a longer period of time, unplug it from the mains. The rule is: Unplug it from the mains when not in use.
  • If the unit has not been used for a longer period of time, condensation may occur. Let the unit reach room temperature before you switch it on. Never use the unit in humid rooms or outdoors.
  • To prevent accidents in companies, you must follow the applicable guide lines and follow the instructions.
  • Do not repeatedly switch the fixture on and off. This shortens the life time.
  • Keep the unit out of the reach of children. Do not leave the unit unattended.
  • Do not use cleaning sprays to clean switches. The residues of these sprays cause deposits of dust and grease. In case of malfunction, always seek advice from a specialist.
  • Do not force the controls.
  • This unit is with speaker inside which can cause magnetic field. Keep this unit at least 60cm away from computer or TV.
  • If this product have a built-in lead-acid rechargeable battery. Please recharge the battery every 3 months if you are not going to use the product for a long period of time. Otherwise the battery may be permanently damaged.
  • If the battery is damaged please replace with same specifications battery. And dispose the damaged battery environment friendly.
  • If the unit has fallen, always have it checked by a qualified technician before you switch the unit on again.
  • Do not use chemicals to clean the unit. They damage the varnish. Only clean the unit with a dry cloth.
  • Keep away from electronic equipment that may cause interference.
  • Only use original spares for repairs, otherwise serious damage and/or dangerous radiation may occur.
  • Switch the unit off prior to unplugging it from the mains and/or other equipment. Unplug all leads and cables prior to moving the unit.
  • Make sure that the mains lead cannot be damaged when people walk on it. Check the mains lead before every use for damages and faults!
  • The mains voltage is 220-240Vac/50Hz. Check if power outlet match. If you travel, make sure that the mains voltage of the country is suitable for this unit.
  • Keep the original packing material so that you can transport the unit in safe conditions.

The unit has been certified CE. It is prohibited to make any changes to the unit. They would invalidate the CE certificate and their guarantee!

NOTE: To make sure that the unit will function normally, it must be used in rooms with a temperature between 5°C/41°F and 35°C/95°F.

Electric products must not be put into household waste. Please bring them to a recycling centre. Ask your local authorities or your dealer about the way to proceed. The specifications are typical. The actual values can slightly change from one unit to the other. Specifications can be changed without prior notice.

Do not attempt to make any repairs yourself. This would invalid your warranty. Do not make any changes to the unit. This would also invalid your warranty. UNPACKING INSTRUCTION

CAUTION! Immediately upon receiving the product, carefully unpack the carton, check the contents to ensure that all parts \are present, and have been received in good condition. Notify the shipper immediately and retain packing material for inspection if any parts appear damage from shipping or the package itself shows signs of mishandling. Save the package and all packing materials. In the event that the product must be returned to the factory, it is important that the product be returned in the original factory box and packing.

If the device has been exposed to drastic temperature fluctuation (e.g. after transportation), do not switch it on immediately.
The arising condensation water might damage your device. Leave the device switched off until it has reached room temperature.

POWER SUPPLY

On the label on the backside of the product is indicated on this type of power supply must be connected. Check that the mains voltage corresponds to this, all other voltages than specified, the light effect can be irreparably damaged. The product must also be directly connected to the mains and may be used. No dimmer or adjustable power supply.

Always connect the device to a protected circuit (circuit breaker or fuse). Make sure the device has an appropriate electrical ground to avoid the risk of electrocution or fire.

CONTROL

  1. Volume control
    Rotate to adjust the volume.

  2. Tuning/Enter knob
    Rotate to tune, scroll, etc. Press to confirm your inputs.

  3. On/Off button
    Press and hold to power on the device. Press to power off.

  4. Mode
    Press repeatedly to cycle through various modes.

  5. Preset
    Press and hold to enter the “Preset store” list. Press to enter the “Preset recall” list.

  6. Info
    Press repeatedly to cycle through various radio station info.

  7. Scan
    Initiate auto scan function in DAB or FM mode. Received stations will be stored as preset automatically.

  8. Menu
    Press to enter the main menu. Use the <Tuning/Enter> knob to navigate within the main- (and sub-) menus.

  9. DC 5V
    USB-C port to connect the supplied power cable.

  10. USB port

  11. Headphone jack
    3.5mm headphones output jack.

  12. Antenna

GETTING STARTED

The radio is powered by the built-in lithium battery. A USB-C type cable is supplied in the product package. Press and hold the button to power on. To power off the radio, press the same button briefly.

CHARGING BETTERY

You can check the battery power level on the radio with the battery indicator in the top right corner of the display. When battery power is low, “Battery Low” will appear on the display to inform you. To charge the battery, connect the USB-C plug to the port on the back of the radio, connect the other end to a power source supplied with 5V OUT. The LED will light up in red, indicating the battery is charging. If the radio is OFF while charging, the LED will go off when charging is finished. If the radio is ON when charging, the LED remains red even when charging is completed. Please check the battery indicator to see the charging status.

DAB(+) RADIO

DAB scan
The first time you power on the radio, it will scan the DAB radio stations automatically. It will display and play the first station after the scan is done. In case it displays “DAB No Station!”, pressing the button will initiate the Full scan of the DAB stations.

Tune DAB station
After the scan is done, rotating the <Tuning/Enter> knob will enter into the station list. Select the station you want to listen to and press the <Tuning/Enter> knob to confirm. The station will start to play.

DAB main menu
There are other options available under DAB mode. Press the button, entering into the menu as follows. Note: always rotate the < Tuning/Enter> button to select and press down < Tuning/Enter> to confirm a selection. Use the button to exit to the last menu.

MENU

< Full Scan>

  • Full scan
    The radio will pick up the DAB stations available in your area.

  • Manual tune
    This function allows you to check whether a specific frequency can be received in your area and display it’s signal strength. When this option is selected, it will show a list of DAB frequencies. Choose the desired frequency and it will display the signal strength.

  • Prune
    Choose “Yes” on this option to delete the DAB stations from your list that are no longer valid or stopped service.

  • System

    • Sleep
      Set the sleep timer to switch off the radio after a certain time has elapsed. The timer will be displayed in the top right corner of the display. If 15 minutes is set, it will display S15. If you wish to cancel the sleep timer, choose “OFF” from the options and press <Tuning/Enter> to confirm.

    • Language
      Choose between multiple available languages.

    • Factory reset
      By selecting this option, use <Tuning/Enter> rotary knob to choose “YES” and press down <Tuning/Enter> to confirm, the radio will reboot and all settings will be resumed factory’s default (all previous settings/presets will be erased).

    • SW version
      Enter to show the current software version.

DAB radio information

When a radio station is playing, press the button repeatedly to cycle through the information broadcasted by the radio as follows:

  • DLS (Dynamic Label Segmenting): Radio text broadcasted from the DAB station such as the news, songs being played, etc. if available. If no such information is available, the display will just show “playing”.
  • PTY (Programme Type): Shows which type of programme you are listening to, “Music”, “Talk”, “News” etc. If there is no information, it will display “Programme Type”.
  • Channel/Frequency: The frequency of DAB is displayed such as “11C 220.352MHz”.
  • Audio info: The display shows the digital audio bit rate of the current reception.
  • Signal error: The signal strength is displayed graphically.
  • Time/Date: The time and date are set automatically. Note: The time and date accuracy depends on the info broadcasted from the radio station.

FM RADIO

FM scan
Press the button to switch to FM. Press the button to enable the Auto Scan function. The device will scan the available stations according to the scan settings selected in the options menu and store stations in the preset list automatically (see below section for scan setting). To scan manually, rotate the <Tuning/Enter> knob and it will fine tune the frequency with steps of 0.05MHz.

  • Scan setting
    There are two types of scan available. The scan is carried out according to “Strong station” or “All station”. If “Strong station” is selected, it will scan only the channels with strong reception signal where the radio is placed. If “All station” is selected, it will scan out both the strong and weak channels.

  • Audio setting
    You can choose to have “Forced Mono” or “Stereo allowed”. If the signal is weak and stable stereo reception is not possible, select “Forced Mono” have better reception.

  • System

    • Sleep
      Set the sleep timer to switch off the radio after a certain time has elapsed. The timer will be displayed in the top right corner of the display. If 15 minutes is set, it will display S15. If you wish to cancel the sleep timer, choose “OFF” from the options and press <Tuning/Enter> to confirm.

FM radio information

When a radio station is playing, press the button repeatedly to cycle through the information broadcasted by the radio as follows:

  • RT (Radio text): Text broadcasted from the FM station (if available).
  • Signal error: The signal strength is displayed graphically.
  • Time/Date: The time and date are set automatically.
  • Frequency: The FM frequency for the radio station in playing.
  • Auto / Stereo: Automatic switching between mono and stereo reception.
    Note: The time and date accuracy depends on the info broadcasted from the radio station.

PRESET

If you would like to save a station not on the preset list or replace a preset station with another one, select the desired station to play first. Then press and hold down the <Tuning/Enter> knob, entering the “Preset Store” list. If a preset save slot is available, it will show “Empty”. Or choose the number you would like to replace by rotating the <Tuning/Enter> knob. To store the station as preset, press the <Tuning/Enter> knob, “Preset x stored” will show on the display. To recall the preset station, simply press the <Tuning/Enter> knob briefly, rotate the <Tuning/Enter> knob to navigate and press the <Tuning/Enter> a final time to confirm. There are 40 presets available for DAB and 40 presets for FM.

BT PLATBACk

Before transmission between your BT device and the radio is possible, both devices must be coupled. This process is called
“pairing”. The radio is served as a receiver, to receive music stream to play on the radio.

  • Press the button to cycle through the different operating modes, ultimately selecting BT mode.
  • Switch on your BT device to which you want to connect the radio to and activate the pairing mode. The device scans for BT devices within the reception range.
  • When the radio is found, your BT device shows its name “Audizio Ancona”.
  • Select the radio on your BT device. If the pairing is successful, “Connected” will appear on the display.
  • Start playback on your BT device.
  • Playback now takes place using the radio. Rotate the <Tuning/Enter> knob to skip tracks. Press the <Tuning/Enter> knob to pause/play

USB PLAYBACK

  • Insert a USB flash drive in the USB port on the back of the device.
  • Press the button to cycle through the different operating modes, ultimately selecting USB mode.
  • The radio will start reading and playing the flash drive automatically.
  • Rotate the <Tuning/Enter> knob to skip tracks. Press the <Tuning/Enter> knob to pause/play.
