Safety Inctructions

Please read before first commissioning the safety instructions carefully and observe the safety instructions to prevent damage due to misuse, improper operation, and improper environmental conditions to be avoided. Keep these for later reference. Check the device after removing the packaging for damage. Do not put the unit in case of suspected corruption in operation and consult a specialist. The recyclable packaging material must not be stored or disposed accessible for young children, but must be disposed of properly. This appliance is only for the purpose for which it was explicitly developed. Any other use is regarded as improper and therefore dangerous. The supplier is not liable for damage to persons and / or property damage due to an improper or incorrect use.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. Please make sure to place the device on a suitable and waterproof surfaces, so that spilled liquids can not cause harm. Repairs to electrical appliances must only be carried out by trained personnel only. Improperly performed repairs and alterations to the equipment can have dangerous  consequences for the user according to what the warranty will be rejected.Observing the following procedures will reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, injury to persons and keep installation time to a minimums. Save these instructions for future used.

  1. This unit is designed exclusively for heating protected outdoor areas and may not be used for any other purpose.
  2. The unit is not suitable for continuous or precision operation.
  3. Remove the unit form it’s packaging and check to make sure it is in good condition before using.
  4. Keep children away from packaging material. Danger of suffocation if swallowed!
  5. Check the household voltage to ensure it matches the heater’s rated specification.
  6. Check the power cord and plug carefully before used, to make sure that they are not damaged
  7. Before unplugging the power cord, be sure to turn off the power, when energizing the unit, be sure your hands are day to prevent form electric shock.
  8. Do not use flammable objects near or point the heater like furniture, pillows. Bedding, paper, cloths and curtains at least 3 feet ( 1meter ) form the front of the heater and keep them always the sides and rear.
  9. Do not use near or in the immediate vicinity of a bath or swimming pool or any source of liquid
  10. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord or plug in water or any other liquid.
  11. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening , as this may cause an electric shock, fire or damage to the heater.
  12. Always unplug the heater when not in use.
  13. Do not allow cord to overhang the counter top where it can be easily pulled by children.
  14. Do not put fingers or foreign objects into the grill while in operation .
  15. Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use.
  16. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry and similar indoor locations, never located heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
  17. No liability can be accepted for any damage caused by non compliance with these instructions or any other improper use or mishandling.
  18. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduces physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children ad vulnerable people should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
  19. If the supply cord is damaged in any way, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
  20. To prevent overheating of this appliance, keep the air inlets and outlets clean and free of anything that may cause blockage. Check all inlets and outlets from time to time to ensure it is clear of any dirt or dust accumulation.
  21. Parts of the heater may exceed 200°C, Contact with the heating tube, reflector, or mental parts near the heating tube, may cause severe BURNS. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surface.
  22. ALWAYS allow heating element to cool at least 10 minutes before touching the heating tube or adjacent part
  23. This product contains recyclable materials. Do not dispose this product as unsorted municipal waste. Please contact your local municipality for the nearest collection point.

RECYCLING
The packaging materials can be recycled. It is therefore recommended to dispose of them in the sorted waste.

DISPOSAL
The symbol “crossed-out garbage can” requires the separate disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Electrical and electronic devices can contain dangerous and environmentally hazardous substances. Therefore, do not dispose of it in unsorted residual waste, but at a designated collection point for used electrical and electronic equipment. Installation

A wall mounting bracket is provide with the heater which has been specifically designed to allow this product to be fitted to a wall or ceiling before drilling the holders for the wall/ceiling is solid and that there are no hidden water pipes or electric wires.The heater must be installed no less than 16’’ form side walls and no less than 6”’ off the floor.

Important : Ensure that the supply cables is well mounted and that it does not come into contact with reflector of the heater or that is does not trail into heated area, the supply cable can be fixed to them metal mounting bracket behind heater with plastic zip ties.

Remote Control

Operation

  1. Make sure the power supply is the same as rated, PLUG the unit into a plug socket.
    2 PRESS the power button on the right side of heater
    3 TURN ON the heater by remote control, or off the heater
    4 DOWN & UP BUTTON, setting the power level

Troubleshooting

  1. If heater will not power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet, if not, plug in.
  2. Check if electricity to the main fuse is working
  3. Check to see it the On and off switch is in the ON position

Cleaning and maintenance

Regular and careful cleaning helps your infrared heater operate efficiently for many trouble free years. To clean your heater follow steps below

  1. Unplug the power cord for your safety before cleaning your appliance.
  2. Make sure the heater is cool before continuing
  3. To keep the heater clean, the outer shell maybe cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. You may use a mild detergent if necessary. After cleaning, dry the unit with a soft cloth. ( CAUTION : DO NOT let liquids enter the heater)
  4. DO NOT use alcohol, gasoline, abrasive powders, furniture polish or rough brushes to clean the heater. This may cause damage or deterioration to the surface of the heater.
  5. DO NOT immerse the heater in water
  6. Wait until the heater is completely dry before use.

Storage:
Store the heater in a cool, dry location when not in use to prevent dust and dirt build up. Use packaging carton to store.

WARRANTY

By purchasing a SHX quality product you have acquired an innovative, long lasting and reliable item. For this SHX device we grant a warranty of 2 years from the date of purchase, valid in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sweden, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania. In the unlikely event that service work is required on your device in this period we warrant free repair (spare parts and labour) or (subject to Schuss’s decision) to replace the product. In the event that neither repair nor exchange make sense from an economical perspective we reserve the right to issue a credit based on current value. When dealing with air conditioning devices you should always contact the customer hotline first (see label on the device or the title page of the instruction manual), in case of fans contact your dealer or us directly. Please note that repair not performed by the authorised workshops immediately renders this warranty void.

This warranty does not include:

  • Repair of replacement of parts due to normal wear
  • Damage due to non-compliance with the instruction manual
  • Devices that are used commercially – even in part
  • Devices damaged by external forces (falling, impact, cracking, improper use etc.) as well as aesthetic wear
  • Devices that have been used improperly
  • Devices that were not opened by our authorised workshop.
  • Unfulfilled customer expectations.
  • Damage caused by force majeure, water, lightning and overvoltage.
  • Devices on which type denomination and/or serial number on the device have been erased, rendered illegible or removed.
  • Service work not performed by our authorised workshops, transport costs to an authorised workshop or us and back as well as associated risks.

Please note that within the warranty period we charge a flat rate of 60 € (indexed as per consumer price index 2010, June 2015) in case of operating errors or if no fault can be found. The total warranty period of 2 years is not extended if warranty service is performed (repair or device replacement). The 2 year warranty is only valid if the original invoice (must contain name and address of the dealer as well as full device name) and the respective warranty certificate are produced, on which the device type and serial number (can be found on the box and the device’s rear or bottom) are to be noted! Only the statutory warranty coverage applies if the warranty certificate cannot be produced!
Please note that the statutory warranty coverage is not altered by this warranty and that it applies in full regardless. Schuss Home Electronic GmbH and its vicarious agents are only liable for damages in case of gross negligence or intent. Liability for loss of profit, expected but not incurred savings, consequential damages and damages from third party claims is excluded in any case.
