INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
BEFORE USING THE JUICE EXTRACTOR
This juice extractor has a safety device. If the handle (clamp) is not fasten
appropriately, the motor will not turn on. This is a safety feature that will
ensure the unit will not operate unless the lid is properly locked. Do not
attempt to override this safety feature.
Before you start assembling your juice extractor, make sure it is unplugged
and it is placed on a dry and leveled surface.
When assembling or disassembling the juice extractor, press the upper part of
the feeding chute with your hand, then push on the handle (clamp) to slide it
out of the locked position and release it.
Place the recollecting ring tray on top of the motor base.
Place the stainless steel filter basket on top of the recollecting ring tray
until it fits the grooves of the motor shaft.
Place the clear cover on top of the recollecting ring tray and stainless steel
filter basket. Adjust it until it aligns properly. Place the food pusher into
the clear cover guiding the tab through the groove on the clear cover.
Raise the handle (clamp) and place it on the grooves of the locking tabs
located on the clear cover. Push to lock it. The juice extractor will not
operate unless the handle and lid are properly locked.
Place the pulp collector container by tilting it slightly and sliding it under
the clear cover.
Place the juicer container under the spout located on the right hand side of
the motor base. Tilt it slightly and slide it into place. The froth separator
will allow to serve juice without the foam and the foam caused during juice
extraction will remain inside the container.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Make sure your juice extractor is properly assembled. Please follow the
instructions from the section “Before using the juice extractor.” The Button
switch must be in the “0” (OFF) position. This juice extractor has a safety
device. If the handle (clamp) is not fasten appropriately, the motor will not
turn on. This is a safety feature that will ensure the unit will not operate
unless the lid is properly locked.
Prepare your fruits and vegetables by washing them thoroughly and peeling off
those that need the skin removed. Remove any stones, pits or cores to prevent
damage to the appliance. Ensure the juice extractor and its accessories are
clean by following the cleaning and maintenance section of this manual.
Place the juicer container under the spout and make sure the pulp collector
container is installed before beginning juicing. Do not allow the pulp
collector container to overfill as this may cause the unit to stall.
Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet and turn the power on “I.” Let
the motor run without load for about 10 seconds.
Once the juicer is on, place the fruits and vegetables on the food chute and
use the food pusher slowly to drive them down. In order to extract the maximum
amount of juice, it is important to push the food pusher slowly. If you press
too hard or too fast, the juicing effect will be reduced.
The slow juicing setting “I” is suitable for soft, juicy fruits or vegetables
such as cantaloupes (peeled), tomatoes etc.
For harder fruits or vegetables such as apples, carrots, it is recommended to
use the quick juicing setting “II”.
The juice extractor will separate the juice and the pulp in the juicer
container and pulp collector container while you are juicing.
NOTE: Both the pulp container collector as well as the juicer container
can be emptied during juicing by turning the juice extractor to the off
position “0.” Make sure to install both containers back in place before you
resume juicing.
NEVER USE HAND OR FINGERS TO PUSH FOOD DOWN THE FOOD CHUTE OR TO CLEAR THE
FOOD CHUTE. ALWAYS USE THE FOOD PUSHER PROVIDED.
ATTENTION: Do not operate this appliance continuously for more than 1
minute. Excessive pressure may result in damage to the motor or the filter.
This appliance comes with a thermal resettable fuse feature to prevent
damage to the motor in the case of extreme overload. It shuts off the
appliance in case of overheating in order to protect the motor. Should the
unit shut off unexpectedly, unplug it and let it cool for around 30 to 45
minutes before continuing.
Never allow the pulp container collector to overfill as this may prevent
correct operation or damage the juice extractor.
Always remove large pits from fruits such as prunes, nectarine, peach, mango
and similar fruits as they can damage the blades and the unit.
Do not place any fruits or vegetables until you turn the juice extractor on.
Let the motor run around 10 seconds before you start adding ingredients.
You can use a plastic bag inside the pulp collector container to ease up its
cleaning.
Do not use bananas or avocados as they do not contain juice and will clog the
unit. You can later use a blender to add them to the juice you extracted from
other fruits or vegetables.
The pulp from fruits and vegetables contains high amounts of fiber and
cellulose. You can add it to soups, casseroles or to enhance your desserts. It
is better to use the pulp the same day you juice to avoid loss vitamins and
changes in its consistency.
When processing large quantities of fruit or vegetables, the pulp collector
container and juice container should be emptied from time to time as
necessary.
Some fruits and vegetables are NOT suitable for juice extracting like:
bananas, avocados, figs, rhubarb, cranberries and similar ingredients.
DISASSEMBLING THE JUICE EXTRACTOR
Before cleaning and storing your juice extractor, follow the instructions
below to disassemble:
Turn juice extractor to the off position “0” and unplug the power cord from
the electrical outlet before removing any of its components. Always wait until
the motor has come to a full stop before disassembling the juice extractor.
Remove the juice container and the pulp collector container by tilting them
slightly and sliding them.
Unlock the handle (clamp) by moving it to the right and then downwards to
release it from the locking tabs on the clear cover.
Remove the clear cover and food pusher.
In order to remove the stainless steel juicing filter, hold it with two hands
and then lift it up by applying pressure to left and right alternatively until
it is removed. Also, remove the recollecting ring tray by lifting it up.
WARNING: THE STAINLESS STEEL FILTER CONTAINS SMALL SHARP BLADES TO CUT AND
PROCESS FRUITS AND VEGETABLES. DO NOT TOUCH BLADES WHEN HANDLING THE FILTER.
CLEANING
After disassembling all removable parts of the juice extractor, wash them by
hand with warm soapy water. If the pulp dries out in the pulp collector
container, the stainless steel filter or the recollecting ring tray, let them
soak in water for approximately 10 minutes before washing them. The stainless
steel filter basket contains sham blades. Do not touch them when handling the
filter.
Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth. Never immerse it in water or any other
liquid.
It is very important to keep the stainless steel filter very clean, free of
residues blocking the holes in order to ensure optimal performance. Use a
nylon brush to clean it thoroughly (see picture for suggested brush, not
included), if necessary. This way you can clean the stainless-steel filter
thoroughly without touching the blades with your hand. Never use a harsh
cleaning solution, a hard object or a hard brush to clean the components of
the juice extractor. If the holes in the mesh remain blocked, soak the filter
in hot water with a water solution with 10% lemon juice.
Some fruits or vegetables may stain plastic components if they are in contact
for prolonged periods of time. Wash all removable components promptly after
each use.
NOTE: DO NOT IMMERSE THE MOTOR BASE IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
The juice extractor should be used often to keep the motor in best condition.
If you are not going to use the juice extractor for a long time, store it in a
dry and well ventilated place.
Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service
representative.
