Operating Instructions Automatic Rice Cooker (Household Use)
- Thank you for purchasing this Panasonic product.
- This product is intended for household use only.
- Please read this Operating instruction carefully in order to use this product correctly and safely.
- Before using this product, please give your special attention to “SAFETY PRECAUTIONS” (Page 2-6).
- Please keep this Operating instruction for future use.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Always follow these Safety Precautions.
In order to prevent the risk of danger to the users of this product or those
nearby, and damaging property, be sure to follow the Safety Precautions
outlined below.
The following signs are used for precautions. They are separated depending on
the degree of danger or damage that may occur if their contents are iqnored
while using this appliance.
This sign warns you that death or serious injury may result from incorrect
operation of this appliance.
This sign cautions you that injury or physical damage to property may result
by incorrect operation of this appliance.
The following signs are used to explain the operations that you are requested
to follow.
They are separated as shown below.
This sign designates actions that you must never do (prohibited
actions).
This sign designates actions that you must do (required actions).
WARNING
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children
should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
**** Plug in tightly. Improper plugging may cause electrical shock or fire due to heat.
When the appliance is not in use, please unplug it by grasping the Plug
itself. Do not pull the Cord.
Ensure the Socket fits all the way into the Cooker Socket.
Clean the Plug regularly.
A soiled Plug may cause insufficient insulation due to humidity and may result
in electrical shock.
Unplug the Plug and wipe with a clean cloth.

**** Please make sure that the voltage used for this appliance is suitable to the local area voltage.
**** The Socket must be removed before the appliance is cleaned and the Cooker The socket must be dried before the appliance is used again.
Do not damage the Cord or the Plug.
The following actions are prohibited:
Disassembling, placing near hot surfaces, bending, twisting, pulling, placing
heavy objects on top or tying up in a bundle.
Could result in electrical shock or fire.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cord or
assembly available from the manufacturer or its service agent.
**** The appliance must not be immersed in water or splashed with water
during usage or cleaning.
It may result in electrical shock.
Once the appliance has a problem, it must be returned to the sales dealer or
an authorized service center.
This appliance should be serviced by an authorized service center and
only genuine parts should be used. If not, may cause fire or result in
improper operation.
Do not insert metal objects such as pins and needles, or any other
foreign objects in the exhaust outlets, or any other portion of the appliance.
**** Do not attempt to disassemble any of the parts or repair them by
yourself.
It may result in electrical shock.
The appliance must be repaired only by an authorized service center.
WARNING
Do not use the appliance in areas nearby fire, flammable or
combustible materials, or gas and water.
Do not operate the appliance with a damaged Cord or Plug.
**** Do not place your hands or face over or near the steam emission area.
Do not use the Cord Set (Plug and Socket) that is not specified for use
with this appliance.

Do not Plug or unplug the Automatic Rice Cooker with wet hands.
**** Do not let the water spill on the Plug and Socket.
CAUTION
The heating element surface is subjected to residual heat after use.
Allow the appliance to cool down before touching or cleaning it. To avoid
burns or injuries.
Ensure to clean the surfaces in contact with food after use. (See page
12 “AFTER USE”.)
CAUTION
Do not place the appliance on an unstable surface or on a non-heat-
resistant carpet.
The appliance becomes hot when in use, especially the Lid and the Pan.
Do not touch them directly with your hands.
Do not place the appliance near a wall or furniture.
Do not substitute the Pan with another container.
Burns or injuries may occur due to overheating or abnormal operation.
**** Do not tilt the Automatic Rice Cooker or place it upside down with its
Plug connected.
As it may cause damage.
When tilting or placing the appliance upside down, must make sure to
disconnect the Plug.
USAGE PRECAUTIONS
- To avoid scratches, ingredients such as crabs and cockles are not recommended.
- Paper located between the Pan and the Heating Plate should be removed before use.
- Make sure the Pan is sitting properly in the Body. Keep the outside of the Pan and the Heating Plate clean and dry. If the Pan is not positioned correctly or has any foreign matter between them, the Switch Button may pop up too soon or the Heating Plate may be damaged.
NOTE: This Automatic Rice Cooker has been designed with Thermal Fuse which may shut off the electric supply when any abnormality cases such as above occur.
- Do not press down the Switch Button continuously by force or use any object to hold it from popping up.
- When cooking other than rice, ensure that the Lid is removed to prevent overflow.
- Do not leave the Lid overturned in a place where it can reflect the sunlight.
- This may cause damage to walls or furniture.
- Do not use the Pan directly on an open flame.
- Any residue of vinegar or salt may cause the Pan to corrode.
PARTS IDENTIFICATION
HOW TO USE

Measure rice with the Measuring Cup provided. One cup of uncooked rice makes approximately 3 cups of cooked rice. Wash the rice in another bowl until the water is relatively clear.

Transfer the washed rice into the Pan. Add water according to the Water Level Indicator on the Pan. (eg: To cook ‘10’ cups of rice, add water to Water Level Indicator ‘10’.) Water Level Indicator
The Water Level Indicator of the Pan is for reference. Adjust the amount of water to your personal taste. Level the rice evenly after the water adjustment is completed.
NOTE: Do not cook less than the minimum specified capacity (Refer to Specifications table on page 14). -
Place the Pan into the Body. In order to place it correctly on the Heating Plate, turn the Pan gently to right and left.
Cover with the Lid and let the rice soak for approximately 30 minutes for better rice cooking. ‘ -
Attach the Socket to the Cooker Socket and plug it into the power supply source. The power Indicator Lamp will light up immediately.
If the Pan is not placed properly into the Body, the cooking function will not start. -
Press the Switch Button down. RICE COOKING Indicator will change to an orange color indicating that cooking has started.

When the rice has been cooked, the Switch Button will pop up automatically. KEEP WARM
The indicator will change to an orange color indicating the KEEP WARM function has started. -
After the Switch Button pops up, leave the Lid covered for at least 15 minutes to steam the rice.
Then, mix the rice well by using a rice scoop (not provided) to allow water vapor to escape (especially when cooking towards maximum quantity). -
Unplug from the power supply source after use. (Grasp at Plug, not Cord.)
