This agreement sets forth the terms and conditions for the use of PPE
products. The installation of this product indicates that the Buyer has read
and understands this agreement and accepts the terms and conditions. PPE
(Pacific Performance Engineering) Inc., its distributors, employees, and
dealers (the “Seller”) shall not be responsible for the product’s proper use
and service. The buyer hereby waives all liability claims. The Buyer hereby
acknowledges no reliance on the Seller’s skill or judgment to select or
furnish goods suitable for any particular purpose and that there are no
liabilities which extend beyond the description on the face hereof, and the
Buyer hereby waives all remedies or liabilities expressed or implied, arising
by law or otherwise (including without any obligation of the Seller with
respect to fitness, merchantability and consequential damages), or whether or
not occasioned by the Seller’s negligence. The Seller disclaims any warranty
and expressly disclaims any liability for personal injury or damages. The
Buyer acknowledges and agrees that the disclaimer of any liability for
personal injury is a material term for this agreement and the Buyer agrees to
indemnify the Seller and to hold the Seller harmless from any claim related to
the item of equipment purchased. Under no circumstances will the Seller be
liable for any damages or expenses by reason of use or sale of any such
equipment. The Seller assumes no liability regarding the improper installation
or misapplication of its products. It is the installer’s responsibility to
check for proper installation and if in doubt, contact the manufacturer. The
Buyer is solely responsible for all warranty issues from the manufacturer.
LIMITATION OF WARRANTY
The Seller gives Limited Warranty as to description, quality, merchantability,
and fitness for a particular purpose, productiveness, or any other matter of
Seller’s product sold herewith. The Seller shall not be responsible for the
products proper use and service and the Buyer hereby waives all rights other
than those expressly written herein. This warranty shall not be extended,
altered or varied except by a written instrument signed by Seller and Buyer.
Limited lifetime warranty on all PPE cast aluminum products, and PPE
Transmission Coolers. Three (3) year limited warranty on PPE Manifolds and Up-
Pipes Kits, and OEM-Length Up-Pipes. One (1) year limited warranty on all
other PPE products from the date of sale to original buyer and limited solely
to the parts contained within the products kit. All products that are in
question of Warranty must be returned prepaid to the Seller and must be
accompanied by a dated proof of purchase receipt. All Warranty claims are
subject to approval by Seller. Under no circumstances will the Seller be
liable for any labor charged or travel time incurred in diagnosis for defects,
removal, or re-installation – of this product or any other contingent
expenses. Under no circumstances will the Seller be liable for any damage or
expenses incurred by reason of the use or sale of any such equipment. In the
event that the buyer does not agree with this agreement: the buyer may
promptly return this product, in a new and unused condition in its original
packaging, with a dated proof of purchase to the place of purchase within ten
(10) days from date of purchase for a full refund. The installation of this
product indicates that the buyer has read and understands this agreement and
accepts its terms and conditions.

Use these items to assist the installation process

STEP 1
Disconnect the negative leads from the batteries. -
STEP 2
Remove the right (passenger side) tire. -
STEP 3
Using either a flat-headed screwdriver or a specialty fastener tool, gently pry up the heads of the push fasteners and remove the inner fender. -
STEP 4
Loosen the transmission dipstick tube. -
STEP 5
Remove the clamp from right side outlet exhaust pipe and remove outlet exhaust pipe. Some maneuvering of the outlet exhaust pipe will be required to remove it. -
STEP 6
Remove the heat shield from the exhaust manifold. -
STEP 7
If vehicle is equipped with aftermarket EGT gauge, remove probe and put electrical lead safely out of they way. Note that stock vehicles will not have this lead cable or probe. -
STEP 8
Remove the right side up-pipe. -
STEP 9
Remove exhaust manifold. Replace with new manifold and gasket. -
STEP 10
Remove the left tire. -
STEP 11
Remove the left inner fender. -
STEP 12
Un-bolt and remove left up-pipe. -
STEP 13
Orient steering shaft so that the bolt is in the up/down position, then remove steering shaft bolt and separate the steering shaft. Failure to properly orient the shaft/bolt will result in the bolt being impossible to remove/install. -
STEP 14
Remove heat shield from left-side manifold. -
STEP 15
Remove the left-side manifold.
Special Note: Before installing the left-side manifold, install the left up- pipe so you have more room to work. Installation of the manifold and up pipes in some pictures will show an engine that is on a stand and not in the truck. This is done for image purposes only. You do not need to lower or remove the engine from the truck to complete this install. -
STEP 16
Connect left up-pipe to the turbo, leaving the mounting hardware loose at this time. -
STEP 17
Install the left side manifold with new PPE gasket and torque mounting hardware to 42 ft.lbs. Connect up-pipe to exhaust manifold and tighten hardware to 39 ft.lbs. -
STEP 18
Install the left side manifold with new PPE gasket and torque mounting hardware to 42 ft.lbs. Connect up-pipe to exhaust manifold and tighten hardware to 39 ft.lbs. -
STEP 19
Connect steering shaft and steering shaft bolt. -
STEP 20
Wrap the power steering pressure hose with “heat wrap” tape (not included) overlapping at a 50% rate. Secure ends of wrap with safety wire (not zip-ties or tape). -
STEP 21
Install the left-side inner fender. -
STEP 22
Install the left tire. -
STEP 23
Install the right side up-pipes, keeping the mounting hardware loose at this time. -
STEP 24
The engine oil dipstick tube is routed between the first and second exhaust flanges/runners. Place the gasket as normal, but with the tube running over it and then install the manifold. Bolt the manifold in place and torque mounting hardware to 42 ft.lbs. -
STEP 25
Install the EGT gauge probe/lead on manifold if applicable. -
STEP 26
Insert new gasket and install hardware connecting the up-pipe to the manifold. With up-pipe connected to manifold, tighten hardware connecting up-pipe to turbo and to manifold to 39 ft.lbs. -
STEP 27
Refasten the transmission dipstick tube. -
STEP 28
Helpful tip: Applying a coating of Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant to the exhaust sections makes for an easier install. -
STEP 29
Install outlet exhaust down pipe and clamp to main exhaust system. -
STEP 30
Install the right tire fender. -
STEP 31
Install the right tire. -
STEP 32
Re-connect negative battery leads. -
STEP 33
Place supplied Manifold and Up-Pipes decal on the engine shield in the designated area for reference in future smog testing.
