Important:
Always fully charge your doorbell before mounting with the solar panel.

Installation for Solar Panel

Mount the solar panel directly onto a wooden surface, brick concrete or stucco, using the screws included. The drill bit size is 0.12 in (0.3 cm). Slide the back of the solar panel (arrow down) onto the mount (mark at bottom) until it clicks.

Adjust the solar panel position to get maximum sunlight exposure throughout the day.

Installation for Doorbell Plate (not included)

1. Installing Nest Doorbell (battery) with the in-box Backplate on the wall.
   a. Insert wall anchors into the wall.
   b. Peel off the 3M sticker and stick the black silicone rings on the wall anchors. Then align the Nest Doorbell (battery) backplate on top.
   c. Pull the solar panel cables through the back of the in-box backplate and out from the opening.
   d. Install the in-box backplate with the 2 screws that come with the Nest Doorbell (battery).
   e. Connect the Nest Doorbell (battery) with the two solar panel cables.

2. Installing Nest Doorbell (battery) with the in-box angle wedge on the wall
   a. Insert wall anchors into the wall.
   b. Peel off the 3M sticker and stick the black silicone rings on the wall anchors, then align the in-box angle wedge on top.
   c. Pull the solar panel cables through the back of the in-box angle wedge and out from the opening.
   d. Install the in-box angle wedge with the 2 screws that come with the Nest Doorbell (battery).
   e. Connect the Nest Doorbell (battery) with the two solar panel cables.

3. Installing Nest Doorbell (battery) with the Wasserstein wall plate on the wall.
   a. Insert wall anchors into the wall.
   b. Align the wall plate on top of the wall anchors.
   c. Peel off the 3M sticker and stick the black silicone rings on top of the wall plate, then align the Nest Doorbell (battery) backplate on top.
   d. Pull the solar panel cables from the opening.
   e. Install the backplate with the 2 screws provided.
   f. Connect the Nest Doorbell (battery) with the two solar panel cables.

4. Installing Nest Doorbell (battery) with the Wasserstein horizontal mount on the wall.
   a. Insert wall anchors into the wall.
   b. Peel off the 3M sticker and stick the white silicone rings on the wall anchors. Then align the horizontal angle mount wall plate on top.
   c. Pull the solar panel cables through the back of the horizontal angle mount wall plate.
   d. Install the wall plate with the 2 long screws provided.
   e. Insert the horizontal angle mount onto the wall plate until you hear a click; gently pull out the solar panel cables through the opening.
   f. Connect the Nest Doorbell (battery) with the two solar panel cables.

5.  Installing Nest Doorbell (battery) with the Wasserstein vertical mount on the wall
   a. Insert wall anchors into the wall.
   b. Peel off the 3M sticker and stick the white silicone rings on the wall anchors. Then align the vertical angle mount wall plate on top.
   c. Pull the solar panel cables through the back of the vertical angle mount wall plate.
   d. Install the wall plate with the 2 long screws provided.
   e. Insert the vertical angle mount onto the wall plate until you hear a click; gently pull out the solar panel cables through the opening.
   f. Connect the doorbell with the two solar panel cables.

FAQ

The Solar charger is connected to Nest Doorbell – Why does the battery level drop?****

The solar charger has to be exposed to direct sunlight. The “Plug-in” and “Infinity” signs in the Nest App mean the Nest Doorbell is correctly connected and being charged by the solar charger. Depending on the sunlight exposure, it may take a while to see an increase in your battery percentage.

Note:
In most situations, the solar charger can extend the battery life. However, it depends on the number of triggering events from the doorbell.
The more triggering events there are, the more current gets consumed by the doorbell battery, which may exceed the charging input provided by the solar charger.
You can extend the battery life by adjusting the doorbell settings. Settings include wake-up sensitivity, maximum event length, video quality, activity zone, and event history.
