IMPORTANT WARNINGS AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read all instructions carefully before use: This manual contains important information that is essential for the safe and appropriate use of the appliance.

  • Life-threatening carbon monoxide forms when using the smoker. Carbon monoxide is an explosive gas. For this reason, the air dampers must be open when the smoker is in use.
  • Never burn wood chips indoors, in vehicles, tents, garages or other enclosed spaces.
  • The appliance is intended for outdoor use only. It must not be used indoors
  • Only use charcoal or briquettes for the smoker. Do not use firewood.
  • Do not add lighter fluid to burning charcoal or briquettes or hot embers.
  • Do not use or store combustible materials, liquids or gases near to the smoker.
  • The appliance must be placed on the ground. It should not be placed on tables or other counters.
  • Do not expose the appliance to rain or moisture.
  • Do not allow children or pets near the smoker. Do not allow children to use the smoker. Children and pets should be carefully supervised while they are near the smoker.
  • Do not perform other activities in the immediate area of the smoker during or after use. Make sure that the appliance has cooled down before cleaning or storing it.
  • Always keep a fire extinguisher at hand while using the smoker
  • Do not place the appliance on or near a gas or electric burner or a hot oven.
  • The smoker should only be used on a flat and stable surface. This reduces the risk of possible personal injury or material damage caused by the appliance falling over.
  • The smoker is hot during use and for a while after use. Beware of hot surfaces.
  • Do not hit or knock the smoker.
  • Do not move the appliance during use. Allow the smoker to cool down properly before moving it.
  • Remove the food from the smoker carefully. All surfaces are hot and may cause burns. Always wear protective gloves and use kitchen tools that are long and sturdy enough.
  • Collect cooled ash from the smoker into an aluminium foil sheet or container. Do not put ash into a plastic or other flammable container.
  • Do not leave hot ash in the smoker during storage. The appliance can only be moved to storage when all surfaces are cool and clean and the ash has been removed.
  • Always follow all local and national fire safety regulations in force when using the smoker.

Use:

  • The middle section has a separate, stainless steel hatch through which charcoal or briquettes and soaked smoking chips or chunks can be added to the charcoal grate.  iquid can also be added to the water pan through the hatch.

  • Place charcoal onto the charcoal grid and light the smoker.
It is recommended to use charcoal or briquettes for the smoker. Never use firewood or other wood products for the smoker. Their heat value is very high and excessive heat can damage the smoker

  • When the charcoal or briquettes have become light grey and are covered with ash, the smoker is ready for use. Spread the embers as a flat  ayer on the charcoal grid.

  • The water tray is designed to even the temperature out during long-lasting smoking. In normal smoking, no water tray is required. The water  ray is filled with hot water so that the temperature inside the smoker does not drop. Make sure that the water does not splash onto the embers. The ash may spread onto the products to be smoked.

  • The smoker comes with two cooking grids. You can use one or both depending on how many products you want to smoke. Place the grids  nto the bearing seats above the water tray.

  • Put the lid on.

Temperature adjustment

Adjust the temperature by opening and closing the air dampers at the bottom of the smoker. Opening the air dampers raises the temperature in the smoker.
Similarly, closing them lowers the temperature in the smoker. Observe the temperature using the thermometer on the lid. Check the temperature regularly and adjust the air dampers if necessary.
Putting out the smoker
The smoker is put out by closing all the air dampers. Put the smoker lid in place and then close all the air dampers on the bottom and the lid. Keep the lid in place and the air dampers closed until the next day, after which the charcoal tray can be emptied.

Cleaning and maintenance

  • Clean the cooking grids after each use. Clean the grids while they are still warm. Use a grill cleaning brush with soft bristles for cleaning. The cooking grids can also be washed in a sink. Do not clean the cooking grids in a dishwasher.
  • Clean the other steel parts of the smoker using a damp cleaning cloth and soapy water. Dry the surfaces thoroughly after cleaning.
  • Regularly check the tightness of the screws on the smoker legs, door, handles and cooking grid-bearing seats. Tighten the screws if necessary.
