Use:
-
The middle section has a separate, stainless steel hatch through which charcoal or briquettes and soaked smoking chips or chunks can be added to the charcoal grate. iquid can also be added to the water pan through the hatch.
-
Place charcoal onto the charcoal grid and light the smoker.
It is recommended to use charcoal or briquettes for the smoker. Never use firewood or other wood products for the smoker. Their heat value is very high and excessive heat can damage the smoker -
When the charcoal or briquettes have become light grey and are covered with ash, the smoker is ready for use. Spread the embers as a flat ayer on the charcoal grid.
-
The water tray is designed to even the temperature out during long-lasting smoking. In normal smoking, no water tray is required. The water ray is filled with hot water so that the temperature inside the smoker does not drop. Make sure that the water does not splash onto the embers. The ash may spread onto the products to be smoked.
-
The smoker comes with two cooking grids. You can use one or both depending on how many products you want to smoke. Place the grids nto the bearing seats above the water tray.
-
Put the lid on.
Temperature adjustment
Adjust the temperature by opening and closing the air dampers at the bottom of
the smoker. Opening the air dampers raises the temperature in the smoker.
Similarly, closing them lowers the temperature in the smoker. Observe the
temperature using the thermometer on the lid. Check the temperature regularly
and adjust the air dampers if necessary.
Putting out the smoker
The smoker is put out by closing all the air dampers. Put the smoker lid in
place and then close all the air dampers on the bottom and the lid. Keep the
lid in place and the air dampers closed until the next day, after which the
charcoal tray can be emptied.
Cleaning and maintenance
- Clean the cooking grids after each use. Clean the grids while they are still warm. Use a grill cleaning brush with soft bristles for cleaning. The cooking grids can also be washed in a sink. Do not clean the cooking grids in a dishwasher.
- Clean the other steel parts of the smoker using a damp cleaning cloth and soapy water. Dry the surfaces thoroughly after cleaning.
- Regularly check the tightness of the screws on the smoker legs, door, handles and cooking grid-bearing seats. Tighten the screws if necessary.
