Cable Connection

  1. Turn off the printer and peripheral devices.
  2. Connect the power cord to the adapter and connect the adapter to the power supply connector of the printer.
  3. Check the type of interfaces at the back of the printer (USB, Serial, Parallel, Ethernet, Powered USB, Bluetooth, Wireless LAN) and connect the interface cable.
  4. Connect the drawer kick-out cable to the drawer kick-out connector of the printer.

※ Do not use an adapter that was not supplied with the printer.

Installing Paper Roll

  1. Press the Cover-Open button to open the cover.
  2. Insert new roll paper in the correct direction.
  3. Pull the paper out slightly and close the cover.
  4. After the paper is rolled about 70mm, it switches to the black mark mode if there is a black mark, otherwise, it is automatically set to the continuous paper mode.

Note
When closing the cover, press down on the center of the cover to ensure that the paper is in contact with the roller. Printing quality may not be optimum recommended paper is not used. (Refer to the User’s Manual.)

Using Control Panel

  • POWER LED
    The POWER light is on whenever the printer is on.

  • ERROR LED
    This indicates an error.

  • PAPER LED
    This light indicates the near end of the paper roll. Install a new paper roll and the printer will continue printing. When the light blinks, it indicates the self-test printing standby state or macro execution Standby state when the macro execution command is used.

  • FEED Button
    Press the FEED button once to advance paper one line. You can also hold down the FEED button to feed paper continuously.

DIP Switch Setting

DIP switch settings should be changed when the printer power is turned off. Any changes made while printer power is on are not recognized.

Choose Unified Utility or Self-Test mode to set the print density using the VMSM. (Virtual Memory Switch Management)
Change in DIP Switch settings are recognized only when the printer power is turned on or when the printer is reset by using the interface. If the DIP Switch setting is changed after the printer power is turned on, the change does not take effect until the printer is turned on again or is reset.

Self-Test

  1. Check whether the paper is inserted correctly.

  2. Turn on the printer while depressing the Feed button. Self-diagnostics will begin.

  3. The printer prints the current status of the printer such as the version of the ROM and DIP switch setting.

  4. The printer prints the current status and stops after printing the following statement. (PAPER indicator keeps blinking.)
    SELF-TEST PRINTING.
    SELECT MODES BY PRESSING FEED BUTTON.
    Continuous SELF-TEST: Less than 1 second
    VMSM Selection: 1second or more

  5. Press the FEED button for less than 1 second to perform “Continuous SELF-TEST”.
    Hold down the FEED button for 1 second or longer to perform “VMSM Selection”.

  6. Self-Test

  7. If you press the FEED button for less than 1 second, the printer will print in the preset character type.

  8. The self-test completes automatically and cuts the paper after printing the following line. COMPLETED

  9. The printer goes into standby mode when the self-test is complete.

  10. Virtual Switch Setting Mode

  11. When the printer goes into virtual switch-setting mode, the following lines will be printed.

  12. Exit and Reboot Printer

  13. Print Current Settings

  14. Set Print Density

  15. Set Print Speed

  16. Set Cutting Mode

  17. Beep-once Alarm

  18. Continuous Alarm

  19. Set Black Mark Cut Position *1)

  20. or more: None

  21. Make sure to press the FEED button to perform the above functions.

  22. Step 1: The number indicates the number of times the FEED button needs to be pressed. Make sure to press it for less than 1 second.

  23. Step 2: Hold down the FEED button for 1 second or longer to enter the selected item. If there is no selected item in Step 1, select “0: Exit and reboot printer” to exit.

  24. When the new settings are applied, hold down the FEED button for 1 second or longer to save the changes. Cut the paper when the following line is printed.
    (If “0: Exit and reboot printer” is not performed, the new settings will not be saved.)

  25. The settings will take effect after the printer reboots.

Using of Taken Sensor Function
When it comes to Taken Sensor, it will detect the paper not to feed next paper before user detach it. This function will be supported by SRP-S300T. Refer to the user manual for detailed instruction.
