These operating instructions are to be considered a component of the device.
Please read the safety instructions and the operating instructions carefully before use.
Keep these instructions for renewed use at a later date. When the device is sold or given to someone else, the instruction manual must be provided to the new owner/user of the product.

General Warning

RISK OF CHOKING!
Keep packaging material, like plastic bags and rubber bands, out of the reach of children, as these materials pose a choking hazard.
RISK of ELECTRIC SHOCK!
This device contains electronic components that operate via a power source (power supply or batteries). Children should only use the device under adult supervision. Only use the device as described in the manual; otherwise, you run the risk of an electric shock.

Never bend, pinch or pull the power and connecting cables, extensions and adapters. Protect the cables from sharp edges and heat.
Before operating, check the device, cables and connections for damage. Never use a damaged unit or a unit with damaged power cables. Damaged parts must be exchanged immediately by an authorised service centre.
Only use the device in complete dry environment and do not touch it with wet or moist parts of your body.

Never use the device with defective or damaged components (e.g. housing, cable, lamp, etc.).

RISK OF CHEMICAL BURN!
Keep batteries out of the reach of children! Make sure you insert the batteries correctly. Empty or damaged batteries could cause burns if they come into contact with the skin.

Leaking battery acid can lead to chemical burns. Avoid contact of battery acid with skin, eyes and mucous membranes. In the event of contact, rinse the affected region immediately with a plenty of water and seek medical attention.

RISK of FIRE/EXPLOSION!
Do not expose the device to high temperatures. Use only the supplied power supply or the recommended batteries. Do not short-circuit the device or batteries or throw them into a fire! Excessive heat or improper handling could trigger a short circuit, a fire, or an explosion.

Protect the device from severe shocks!

NOTE!
Do not disassemble the device. In the event of a defect, please contact your dealer. The dealer will contact the Service Centre and can send the device in to be repaired, if necessary.

Perform all cleaning and maintenance work at the device only as described in the instruction manual.

Only use accessories and spare parts for this device as listed in the technical data.

Assembly and power supply

Assembly and power supply – remote trigger (Fig. 2 · T-12 and T-13)
The remote trigger is battery-powered.

1. The remote trigger is already equipped with a battery at the factory. To change the battery, use a small Phillips screwdriver* (Fig. 2, X) to loosen the screw on the underside of the remote trigger (transmitter) and open the housing.
2. Insert a 12V battery type 23A into the holder. Take care on the correct position according to the +/– poles.
3. Bring both parts of the housing back together and screw them together.
4. Turn the fixing wheel upwards.
5. Slide the trigger with its flash contact into the camera‘s hot shoe.
6. Turn the fixing wheel downwards.

Assembly and power supply – receiver (Fig. 3 · T-12 only)
** The T-12 receiver is mains operated.
NOTE!*
A flash unit with a C14 connection socket (for C13 connector) is required for the connection.

1. Put the jack plug into the connection socket (sync port) of the flash unit*. If necessary, attach the larger jack plug adapter.
2. Put the C13 connector into the C14 connection socket of the flash unit*.
3. Put the C13 connector of the flash unit’s power cable into the C14 connection socket of the receiver.
4. Put the Euro plug of the power cable* into the power socket

Assembly and power supply – receiver (Fig. 4 · T-13 only)
The T-12 receiver is battery-powered.

1. Remove the battery compartment cover.
2. Insert the batteries (2x 1.5V, AAA) into the battery compartment according to the right polarity.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover.
4. Put the jack plug into the connection socket (sync port) of the flash unit*. If necessary, attach the larger jack plug adapter.

Commissioning/Switching on

Channel settings by using the DIP switches
NOTE!
To ensure synchronous flashing of severeal flash devices, all involved receiver and the trigger must be set to the same channel by using the DIP switches.

Make the channel settings according to the following table

Commissioning of the remote trigger with receiver(s) (only T-12)

1. Set the same channel for the remote trigger and the reiver(s).
2. Turn on the camera with the attached remote trigger. The function indicator (transmission) will light.
3. Set following camera settings: Folgende Kamera-Einstellungen vornehmen: camera mode ‚M‘ (manual), shutter speed 1/125 sec.
4. Turn on the flash device with the attached receiver. The function indicators (power supply and reception) will light.
5. Push the flash test button to trigger a flash. When a flash was triggered, the connection is enabled. Now the flash device(s) can be triggered also by pushing the camera’s release button.

Commissioning of the remote trigger with receiver(s) (onlyT-13)

1. Set the same channel for the remote trigger and the reiver(s).
2. Turn on the camera with the attached remote trigger. The function indicator (transmission) will light.
3. Set following camera settings: Folgende Kamera-Einstellungen vornehmen: camera mode ‚M‘ (manual), shutter speed 1/125 sec.
4. Turn on the flash device with the attached receiver.
5. Move the On/Off switch to ‚ON‘ position. The function indicator (reception) will light. 5. Push the flash test button to trigger a flash. When a flash was triggered, the connection is enabled. Now the flash device(s) can be triggered also by pushing the camera’s release button.

Cleaning and maintenance

Before cleaning the device, disassemble the trigger (sender) from the camera and the receiver from the flash device. Remove the batteries where appropriate.

Only use a dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. To avoid damaging the electronics, do not use any cleaning fluid.

Protect the device from dust and moisture. Store it in the supplied bag or transportation packaging. Remove the batteries from the unit if it is not used for a longer time.

Disposal

Dispose of the packaging materials properly, according to their type, such as paper or cardboard. Contact your local waste disposal service or environmental authority for information on the proper disposal.

Do not dispose of electronic devices in the household garbage! As per Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its adaptation into German law, used electronic devices must be collected separately and recycled in an environmentally friendly manner.

In accordance with the regulations concerning batteries and rechargeable batteries, disposing of them in the normal household waste is explicitly forbidden. Please make sure to dispose of your used batteries as required by law — at a local collection point or in the retail market. Disposal in domestic waste violates the Battery Directive. Batteries that contain toxins are marked with a sign and a chemical symbol. “Cd” = cadmium, “Hg” = mercury, “Pb” = lead.
