About this guide
We’ve written this manual to help you get the most from your electric knife. Please keep hold of it for future reference.
THIS PRODUCT WAS DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED TO MEET STRICT QUALITY AND SAFETY STANDARDS. THERE ARE, HOWEVER, SOME OPERATIONAL PRECAUTIONS THAT YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF.

1. This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.

2. Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.

3. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

4. ASDA does not recommend allowing children to operate this appliance.

5. Switch off the appliance and disconnect from supply before changing accessories or approaching parts that move in use.

6. Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.

7. Avoid outdoor use. This appliance is for household use only.

8. The cutting blades are sharp, handle with care. Hold the blades by the finger grips or blade shafts only, and take care not to touch the serrated blade when handling or
   cleaning.

9. Do not immerse the electrical parts of the appliance in water or other liquids. Never hold the appliance under running water.

10. Never use accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer. They could pose a safety risk to the user and might damage the appliance. Only use original parts and accessories.11. Never let the motor unit, power cord or plug get wet.

11. Don’t let excess cord hang over the edge of a table or worktops or touch hot surfaces.

12. Misuse of your electric knife can result in injury.

13. Care is needed when handling the sharp cutting blades and during cleaning.

14. Only use the appliance for its intended domestic use.

15. No liability will be accepted if the appliance is subject to improper use or failure to comply with these instructions.

16. Do not use the knife for more than 2 minutes. Allow the knife to cool for at least 1 minute before continuing.

How to… …recognise the parts of your electric carving knife

Before first use remove the blade cover and carefully wash the blades using a cloth with warm soapy water or in a dishwasher. fitting the blades

1. Check to ensure that the electric knife is not plugged in.

2. Reassemble the blades if necessary.
   To do this hold the blades using the finger grips and place the slot at the end of the right blade over the rivet on the left blade.

3. Slide the rivet along so that both finger grips are situated next to each other.

4. For safety carefully place the blade cover back over the blades.

5. Insert the blade shaft into the slots of the handle using the finger grips.
   Ensure the back of the blades are facing the same way as the power switch.

6. Push the blade shaft into the housing until the blades click firmly into place.

Carving meat and food

1. Always place the food to be carved on a suitable cutting board so worktops and tabletops are protected from damage.

3. Hold the electric knife in position. Press and hold the power button to switch on (2).
4. When using the electric knife gently push the blade in the direction you wish to cut.
5. When slicing poultry cut almost to the bone and then separate meat from the bone manually. Do not attempt to cut through bones.
6. Do not use the knife for more than 2 minutes. Allow the knife to cool for at least 1 minute before continuing.
7. The blades are high quality and do not require sharpening.
8. Do not use to cut frozen food.

Removing the blades

1. Check to ensure that the electric knife is not plugged in.
2. Grip the blades firmly using the finger grips and press the Eject button (1).
3. Slide the blades out of the handle.

How to …clean and store your electric knife
Make sure your electric knife is disconnected from the power and is completely cool.

1. Remove the blades from the handle as detailed elsewhere in these instructions.
2. Separate the blades by sliding the rivet on the left blade out of the slot in the right blade.
3. Carefully wash the blades using warm soapy water or in a dishwasher. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
4. Wipe the handle with a slightly damp cloth then dry thoroughly. Never immerse the handle in any liquid. Dry thoroughly.
5. Place the blades together and slide into the blade cover supplied.
6. Place the electric knife and accessories inside the box in which it was supplied in a dry place out of reach of children. Never wrap the power cord around the knife or over-stress the cord where it attaches to the handle.

How to……change the fuse

1. Only use a 3 amp fuse.
2. To change the fuse, place a screwdriver into the recess of the plug cover and pull the fuse holder upward until it’s free.
3. Slide the fuse out and pop in the replacement.
4. Slot the fuse holder back into the recess and push down until it locks into place.

To qualify for the 2 year warranty the appliance must have been used according to the manufacturer’s instructions. For example kettles should have been regularly de-scaled.
