Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure the egg cooker is placed on a stable and heat-resistant surface.
  2. Plug the appliance into a compatible electrical outlet (220-240V~, 50-60Hz).
  3. Open the main lid by using the lid handle only. Do not touch the hot surfaces.
  4. Add water to the designated water level inside the cooker, as indicated in the user manual.
  5. Place the eggs into the egg tray or holder provided. Follow the capacity guidelines mentioned in the manual.
  6. Close the main lid securely, ensuring it is properly locked in place.
  7. Turn on the egg cooker using the control knob or switch, as instructed in the manual.

Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
  15. Cleaning

IMPORTANT: Before using your egg cooker for the first time you must clean all of the parts.
CAUTION: Never immerse the power base, power cord or plug in water. No parts of your egg cooker are dishwasher safe.

  1. Wash the lid, egg tray, steamer bowl and measuring cup in warm water and a mild detergent then rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
    • CAUTION: Take care with the measuring cup as there is a needle at the bottom of it.
  2. Wipe the power base with a soft damp cloth and dry.
    • IMPORTANT: Do not use chemicals or abrasive cleaners to clean the egg cooker. If limescale builds up on the hot plate, use a little diluted vinegar if needed on a damp cloth to wipe away any residue, ensuring the appliance is fully cool first. Wipe with a fresh damp cloth to remove any traces of vinegar.

Using the measuring cup

The measuring cup has two sets of measurements on its side. Only use the measurements with the icon next to them. Do not use the measurements with the icon next to them.

  • CUSTARD: This is the amount of water required to cook a steamed egg custard.
  • HARD: This is the amount of water required to boil a hard boiled egg.
  • MEDIUM: This is the amount of water required to boil a medium boiled egg.
  • SOFT: This is the amount of water required to boil a soft boiled egg.
  • NEEDLE: The measuring cup has a needle in the base for piercing the large ends of the eggs before boiling to stop them exploding.

Boiling eggs
Before using your egg cooker ensure it is cleaned following the ‘Cleaning’ instructions on page 5.

  1. Place the egg cooker on a stable level heat resistant surface with easy access to a mains socket.
  2. Measure out the amount of water required to cook the eggs in the way that you desire and pour it onto the hot plate.
  3. Place the egg tray on top of the power base.
  4. Pierce the large ends of the eggs with the needle on the base of the measuring cup and place them with the small ends down into the egg holders of the egg tray.
    • CAUTION: Always pierce the large end of the egg before placing it into the egg holder. If you do not pierce the eggs they may explode in the egg cooker.George-home-GEC101B-21-Egg-Cooker-fig-1 \(7\)
  5. Plug the egg cooker into a mains socket. Place the lid on the egg tray and press the On / Off switch. The switch will light up when the egg cooker is working.
  6. When the eggs are ready you will hear a ‘Click’ sound, and the water will have fully evaporated in the base. Press the On / Off switch to turn the egg cooker off and remove the plug from the mains socket.
    • WARNING: Always switch the egg cooker off after the cooking cycle has finished. If it is left on, when the egg cooker has cooled down it will start the cooking cycle again. The below cooking recipe table is for reference.

  1. Lift the lid off the egg cooker using a cloth, take care when removing the lid as steam will be emitted.
  2. Remove the eggs from the egg cooker using a cloth as they will be hot. If you want to peel the eggs place them in cold water as this will make them easier to peel.

Using the steamer bowl

Before using your egg cooker ensure it is cleaned following the ‘Cleaning’ instructions on page 5. This recipe can be adapted to serve as a savoury or sweet dish. For example, try adding a small sprinkle of salt, or a dash of soy sauce to serve as part of a cooked breakfast. For a sweet dish, serve with a sprinkle of sugar or caramel sauce. You may wish to add a few drops of vanilla extract before steaming.

  1. Place the egg cooker on a stable level heat resistant surface with easy access to a mains socket. Spray a little cooking oil into the steamer bowl. Crack 2 eggs into the bowl, and top up to the maximum marker with water. Transfer the mixture to a jug, and mix until smooth.
  2. Pour the mixture back into the steamer bowl. Use a teaspoon to remove any small air bubbles for a smooth finish.
  3. Fill the measuring cup up with water to the CUSTARD level and pour onto the hot plate.
  4. Place the egg holder on top of the power base.
    • IMPORTANT: Always ensure the egg holder is assembled in the appliance before switching on. Never place the steamer bowl inside the appliance without the egg holder.George-home-GEC101B-21-Egg-Cooker-fig-1 \(9\)
  5. Place the steamer bowl on the egg holder and place the lid on. Slot the plug into a mains socket. Turn the egg cooker on by pressing the On / Off switch.
  6. When the steamer is ready you will hear a ‘Click’ sound, and the water in the base will be fully evaporated. Press the On / Off switch to turn the egg cooker off and remove the plug from the mains socket.
  7. Lift the lid off the egg cooker using a cloth, take care when removing the lid as steam will be emitted.
  8. Leave the egg cooker to cool for 30 seconds. Remove the steamer bowl from the egg cooker using a cloth as it will be hot.

Omelette recipe

  • Follow the steps given in the section “Using the steamer bowl”, with the following changes when preparing your omelette:
  • Spray a little cooking oil into the steamer bowl. Crack in two eggs, and mix to a uniform consistency.
  • Add any desired seasonings such as salt, pepper or herbs. Fill the measuring cup with water to the medium line. The approximate cooking time is 9-11 minutes.
