About this guide
We’ve written this manual to help you get the most from your Steam Station
Iron. Please keep hold of it for future reference.
WARNINGS:
THIS PRODUCT WAS DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED TO MEET STRICT QUALITY AND SAFETY STANDARDS. THERE ARE, HOWEVER, SOME OPERATION PRECAUTIONS YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF. WHEN USING ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES, BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS SHOULD ALWAYS BE FOLLOWED.
- Check that the voltage indicated on the rating plate corresponds with that of the local network before connecting the appliance to the mains power supply.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- This appliance is not a toy.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- The plug must be removed from the socket-outlet before the water reservoir is filled with water.
- The filling or decalcifying or rinsing or inspection apertures that are under pressure shall not be opened during use.
- The iron must be used and rested on a flat, stable surface;
- When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand is placed is stable.
- Improper repairs may place the user at risk of harm.
- Keep the iron and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years of age when it is energized or cooling down.
- Keep the appliance and its power supply cord away from heat or sharp edges that could cause damage.
- Keep the appliance away from other heat emitting appliances.
- Keep the appliance free from dust, lint, hair or anything that may reduce the airflow of the appliance.
- Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
- Do not operate with wet hands.
- Do not expose the appliance to rain.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended whilst connected to the mains power supply.
- Do not remove the appliance from the mains supply by pulling the power cord. Switch the appliance off and remove the plug by hand.
- Do not pull or carry the appliance by its power cord.
- The iron is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if it is leaking.
- Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended use.
- Do not use any part/ accessories or adaptors other than those supplied with this appliance, as this may cause damage.
- Do not use any damaged accessories.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors.
- Do not use the appliance in an enclosed space filled with vapour given off by oil-based paint thinners, some mothproofing substances, flammable dust or other explosive or toxic vapours.
- Do not store the appliance in direct sunlight or in high humidity conditions.
- Do not touch any sections of the appliance that may become hot during use, as this could cause injury.
- Do not direct steam at people or animals.
- Do not direct steam towards equipment containing electrical components, such as the interior of an oven.
- Switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains power supply before changing or fitting accessories.
- Always unplug the appliance after use and before any cleaning or maintenance.
- Always ensure that the appliance has cooled fully after use before performing any cleaning or maintenance or storing away.
- Use of an extension cord with the appliance is not recommended.
- This appliance should not be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote control system.
- This appliance is intended for domestic use only, it should not be used for commercial purposes.
Caution: The appliance emits very hot steam, always exercise extreme
caution when using.
Hot surface: Do not touch the hot sections or heating components of the
appliance.
Warning!: Danger of scalding. Keep the appliance away from flammable
materials.
Type of water to use: This appliance has been designed to be used with tap water. However, if you live in an area with hard water, fast scale build- up may occur.
In hard water areas, it is recommended to use a 50:50 mix of tap water and distilled or demineralised water to prolong the lifetime of the appliance.
WARNING: Do not use perfumed water, water from the tumble dryer, vinegar, starch, descaling agents, ironing aids, chemical descaling water or other chemicals as they may cause water spitting, brown staining or damage to your appliance.

Features
Filling the water tank
Note: Always ~II the water tank before using your iron and when the water level gets low. You can fill the water tank at any time when using the iron.
- Remove the water tank by pulling it out of the base.
- Fill the water tank up to the maximum level indicator.
- Slot the base of the water tank back into the base then push the top of the water tank inwards until it locks in place with a ‘Click’.
Using your iron
Important: Place the steam station on a flat, stable and level surface.
Ensure that the power cord and steam hose do not become tangled when being
used.
We recommend that you place the steam station on a stable ironing board.
Check to ensure there is enough water in the steam station and insert the plug
into a mains socket and turn the power on if required.

Rotate the control dial to select the desired temperature for the garment you want to iron.
- Rotate clockwise to increase the temperature.
- Rotate the dial anti-clockwise to reduce the temperature.
- Note: The iron will only constantly emit steam when the dial is set to the three dots(• .. ) position.

Press the On/Off button ((!)) on the back of the steam station to turn the iron on. The button will light up showing the iron has been turned on.

The iron ready light will flash as the iron heats up to the desired temperature set by the control dial (this can take up to 1 minute).
When the light has stopped flashing and is permanently on, the iron is ready to use. -
Unwrap the steam hose from around the base of the steam station.

Press the iron release button (A) on the top front of the steam station to release the iron from the steam station, the iron lock button (B) will pop out when the release button is pressed.

Lift the iron off the steam station.

Steam trigger: Pull the steam trigger upwards and hold to release steam from the sole plate of the iron.
WARNING: Never direct steam at people.
Note: If this is the first time you have used your iron or have not used it for a while, it may take about 45 seconds for the steam to be released from the iron’s sole plate.
For the best ironing results, after ironing with steam, perform the last strokes without steam. -
Steam boost: The iron has steam boost function that can be used to remove stubborn creases.
Pull the steam trigger twice quickly to release a large volume of steam. -
ECO mode: When using the steam iron you can press ECO button on the back of the steam station. The button will light up green showing you are using the ECO mode.
The ECO mode reduces the amount of steam emitted from the sole of the iron. This will save energy when using the iron without compromising the results.
Press the ECO button again to turn the ECO mode off, the green light will turn off. -
Safety auto-off mode: To save energy, the appliance will switch off automatically when it has not been used for 10 minutes. The On/Off button ((!)) on the back of the steam station will flash.
Press the On/Off button ((!)) to restart the appliance, the light will switch to being permanently on.
Warning: Never leave the appliance unattended when it is connected to the mains, always unplug the appliance when not in use. -
Self-clean system: Your appliance has been designed with a self clean system for easy regular descaling. This helps to maintain strong steam performance.
Plug in the iron close to a sink, and set the iron to the (3 dot) temperature setting. Once the iron is at temperature, hold the iron over the sink.
Press and hold the SELF clean button on the base for 2 seconds.
You will hear a series of short beeps and the self clean program will run automatically, producing steam bursts to clean away limescale within the sole plate.
Caution: take care to avoid contact with the hot steam from the sole plate. -
Cleaning the sole plate (A): Set the control dial to the hottest setting, three dots (n•). When the iron is hot rub it backwards and forwards over a damp clean cotton cloth.
Storing

Switch the iron off at the back of the steam base by pressing the On/Off button ((!)) and holding for 2 seconds. Unplug the iron from the mains socket.

Slot the back of the iron sole plate under the tab in the back of the recess on the top of the steam station
Lower the front of the iron downwards until the iron is in the recess in the top ofthe steam station. -
Press the iron lock button on the front of the steam station inwa rds until the iron locks in place with a ‘click’.
IMPORTANT: Allow the iron to cool before making any adjustments to prevent burning. -
Fold the steam cord in half and slot it behind the two retaining tabs on the base of the steam station.

Pull the water tank out of the front of the steam station

Empty any remaining water out of the water tank down the sink and then refit it into the steam station.

You can now store your steam station iron in a safe place.
Note: You can pick your iron up using the handle of the iron when it is locked onto the steam station.
Care and maintenance
IMPORTANT: Before attempting any cleaning or maintenance, always unplug the iron from the mains power supply and allow it to cool sufficiently.
- Drain any remaining water from the water tank to prevent it from leaking during cleaning.
- Wipe the ceramic sole plate with a soft damp cloth and then dry thoroughly.
- If polyester has burnt onto the ceramic sole plate, wipe it with a soft cloth dipped in methylated spirits. Clean off the methylated spirits with a clean damp soft cloth and dry thoroughly.
- To remove any build-up around the steam holes, use a cotton wool bud dampened in methylated spirits. Wipe the steam holes with the bud and then wipe clean with a soft dampened cloth.

To qualify for the 2 year warranty the appliance must have been used according
to the manufacturer’s instructions. For example kettles should have been
regularly de-scaled.
If your appliance stops working or develops a fault then return it to your
nearest store and we will happily replace or refund the item, with exception
of the below exclusions:
EXCLUSIONS
ASDA shall not be liable to replace goods under the tenns of the warranty
where:
- The fault has been caused or is attributable to accidental use, misuse, negligent use or use contrary to the user manual’s recommendations or where the fault has been caused by power surges or damage caused in transit.
- The appliance has been used on a voltage supply other than that described on the product rating label.
- Repairs have been attempted by persons other than our service staff (or authorised dealer).
- Where the appliance has been used for hire purposes or non-domestic use.
- ASDA are not liable to carry out any type of servicing work, under the warranty.
This warranty does not confer any rights other than those expressly set out above and does not cover any claims for consequential loss or damage. This warranty is offered as an additional benefit and does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
If for any reason this item is replaced during the 2 year warranty period, the warranty on the new item will be calculated from original purchase date. It is vital to retain your original proof of purchase to indicate the date of initial purchase.
