Introduction

With the Polk Monitor XT35 Slim Center Channel Loudspeaker, enjoy high- resolution audio clarity and crystal-clear dialogue for your movies, games, and music. No matter where you are seated in the room, the MXT35’s dynamically balanced acoustic array, which includes a 1″ High-Resolution Terylene Tweeter and four 3″ Polypropylene Woofers, produces room-filling, highly detailed sound to bring your movies to life. Even the newest Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround sound AVRs and amplifiers will reproduce sounds accurately because it is Hi-Res Audio Certified. With the Monitor XT Series, you can mix and combine models to create the ideal home theatre or music listening space thanks to the high-quality, timbre-matched Polk components used in its construction. It may simply be put or easily wall-mounted so that it doesn’t obstruct your TV without compromising the sound quality, on any flat surface. For a full 5.1 surround system, add the MXT70 tower pair, MXT20 bookshelf pair, MXT90 height channel, and MXT12.

How to Connect Your System

To get the best sound quality, it’s important to wire your speakers correctly.

How to Use Binding Post Connectors

Loosen hex nut and insert bare speaker wire through the hole. Tighten the hex nut down to make the connection.

Note
Do not insert an insulated section of wire into hole (you will not get a connection

Certified Hi-Res Audio Performance

The Terylene dome tweeter in the Monitor XT35 permits playback at frequencies up to 40 kHz, which ensures an airy, clear, high-end energy, and spaciousness that you’ll be able to both hear and feel. Because of its high-resolution performance, you may enjoy the audio in multichannel concert videos, Apple Music, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X mixes, as well as ultra-HD movies.

Interestingly Easy Bass

Polk has always been known for producing speakers with remarkable bass for their size. Not an exception is the MXT35. Voices and music remain audible while concerts, movies, and video games are filled with impact thanks to the clean, open midrange and punchy, responsive bass provided by four dynamically balanced 3″ woofers.

For Pure Listening Only

The enjoyment of pure sound is the goal of every Monitor XT model: Their MDF cabinets are low-resonance, critically braced to isolate the sound of the woofers and tweeter without adding unwanted resonances, and their removable, precisely-fit grilles reduce sonic interference. Their nickel-plated binding posts offer a direct, lossless connection.

Speaker Positioning

To maximize the sound quality of your speaker system whether you’ve purchased XT15 bookshelf speakers, an XT30 center channel speaker, or XT70 tower speakers—correct placement is everything. Take a look at the following examples and give them a try based on the Polk Monitor XT Series speakers you’ve purchased.

Care and Cleaning

The only thing you should ever need to do to your speakers has dusted them occasionally. Never apply any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner or any harsh detergent. You can clean the grilles with the brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner.

I have a pair of Polk front main speakers and a separate 12″sub.Will this unit add more bass, or will it make conversational speach easier to hear?

Mine made the voices much more clear. Didn’t notice any increase in bass.

Is the grill black or gray?

Gray. I set it up without it, because it did not match our TV and other decorations. It looks good without it.

Does the XT35 have a magnetic grill?

Hello, the grill uses tabs to be inserted on the speaker. It is not a magnetic grill.

Does it include a grill to hide the drivers? None of the photos show one?

Hello, yes a black cloth grill is provided.

Does it accept banana plugs?

Hello, the Polk Audio XT35 center channel does except banana plugs. Nickel- plated 5-way binding posts

Can I use these speakers as front main hanging alongside the TV screen?

I’m not sure but it’s usually used as a center speaker.

What is the rms?

Up to 200 watts.

Does it have 3.5mm Jack?

no.

Any suggestions for what gauge speaker wire to use for these? Is 16 ok?

I used 16 ga wire and it is fine.

One section says 24x6x4 and another says 24x4x6, so what is the height of this speaker?

The height is 4 inches.

I don’t know much about surround sound, i really just wanted to use this as a “soundbar” for my computer. is that possible? and what wiring do i need?

Sorry, not going to work as simply as that. This is just a passive speaker, requiring a separate 3.1 or 5.1 sound amplifier. You’d have to essentially buy a full home theater receiver to make this work correctly.

I have a Bose Acoustimass 6 system with a woofer and 5 speakers. Will this be able to replace the central speaker and work well?

Yes. However, due to the change in brand/style and possibly impedance, you may find the sound level a bit quieter and will likely need to raise the center channel level on the receiver to compensate. Most audiophiles will also say that the tone/sound change between the different speakers will not be properly similar; but aside from snooty thoughts like that, it will work just fine. Likely better treble too.
