Introduction

Anywhere you are, you can easily control ALL of your Avatar smart light bulbs with the “Smart Life” App once you have connected to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. No hub is needed, and the bulbs have a brightness of 910 lumens. With 16 million different hues, you can create the perfect lighting environment. The smart light features a number of color options that can be changed depending on the situation. depending on your needs, lighter or darker. The Alexa light bulbs are compatible with Alexa and Google Home, and you can use voice commands like “Alexa, Turn on the light” to reduce the brightness and colors of the smart lamp. The light source is an LED bulb post, which has a long service life of 30,000 to 50,000 hours and low energy usage.

PREPARATION CONTENT

• AvatarControls APP (Also compatible with the “smart life” app)
• AvatarControls APP account (users need to register their own account)
• Smart Bulb
• Reset switch on-off-on-off-on within 10 seconds Until the bulb fast flashing state. If not operate within 3 minutes, the bulb will restore to stable white light.
• 4 GHz Wi-Fi environment (turn off 5GHz)
• Add device

• REGISTER AN ACCOUNT IN AVATARCONTROLS Open AvoatarControls into account registration page, click on the “Register” After Successful registration, you can add device on your App now.
• ADD DEVICES ( SMART BULB) After login to AvatarControls APP, click on “+”.
• AvatarControls APP supports two types of distribution network modes: EZ mode and AP mode.
• EZ MODE: The Smart Bulb is in a state of fast flashing. (About two times a second).
• AP MODE: The Smart Bulb is in a state of slow flashing (About once 2 Seconds) If the bulb cannot be paired in EZ mode(rapid blink), please switch to AP mode(blink slowly)
• After entering the “Add Device” page, confirm whether the Smart Bulb is EZ mode. if not, can switch to EZ mode by a continuous operation of “on-off on-off-on”. Then click on “indicator light is flashing fast” to start adding Smart Bulb
• Select the Device Work W-Fi and enter the password, then start the configuration of the device. “Device added Successfully” will be displayed after successful operation.

RENAME THE DEVICE

After the device be added Successfully, click the device description text to modify device name. The name of the device is recommended to use easy pronunciation of the English words. (Amazon Echo only supports English temporarily).

Multiple devices can be added and renamed according to the above procedures.

CONTROL YOUR SMART BULB WITH ALEXA/GOOGLE ASSISTANT

Before you start, make sure that:

• Your smart bulb is connected with Wi-Fi and can be controlled by app.
• You have an Alexa-enabled device (.e Echo, Echo Dot and Amazon Tap) or a device enabled with Google Assistant (i.e. Google Home).
• The Amazon Alexa app or the google Home app which is already installed on your smart device and you have created an account.

TO CONTROL YOUR DEVICES WITH AMAZON ALEXA

1. Open the Alexa app and select Skills8Game from the menu in the top left corner of the homepage
2. On the Skills & Game screen, search for “AvatarControls”
3. Enable it in Alexa app.
4. Login with your AvatarControls account to authorize Alexa to access to your account.
5. Discover new smart devices via the “Smart Home” menu in the Alexa app or Alexa voice control.
6. Say simple commands to Alexa:
   • “Alexa, turn on/off bedroom light. (Turn on/off the light)”
   • “Alexa, set bedroom light to 50 percent. (Set the light to any brightness)
   • “Alexa, brighten/dim bedroom light. (Increase/ weaken the brightness of the light)”\
   • “Alexa, set bedroom light to green. (Adjust the color of the light)”.

TO CONTROL YOUR DEVICES WITH GOOGLE ASSISTANT

1. Open the Google Home app and select “Settings” on the home page.
2. Find “More Settings” on the bottom of the page.
3. Choose “Devices”, and Tap the “+” add, then you will into “And a device ” page. Click “Link a Smart home device”, and “SEARCH” icon, input “AvatarControls”
4. Login with your Avatar Controls account to authorize Google Home to access to your account.
5. After successful configuration, say simple commands to Google Assistant to control the light with your voice.
   • “Ok Google, turn on/off bedroom light. (Turn on/off the light or other device”
   • Ok Google, set bedroom light to 50 percent. (Set the light to any brightness)”
   • Ok Google, brighten bedroom light. (Brighten the light)”
   • “Ok Google, set bedroom light to red. (Set the color of the light, only color changing lights support this function)”

TROUBLESHOOTING

1. CAN NOT CONNECT TO WI-FI

• Check if you have selected a 2. 4 Ghz Wi-Fi which is the same that your phone is Connected with. (If your router is dual band make sure your phone and the smart bulb are connected to the 2.4 G signal)
• Check if you have entered the correct Wi-Fi password.
• Check if there are any internet problems. If necessary, reset your Wi-Fi router and try again.

2. CANNOT CONTROL THE DEVICES WITH ALEXA/GOOGLE VOICE CONTROL

• Check if you have enabled “AvatarControls” in Alexa or Google APP.
• Check if the bulb is online on the app(Do not turn off the bulb through your wall switch otherwise it will go offline.)
• Check if you are using proper commands when talking to Alexa/ Google Assistant, repeat your question, speak clearly to Alexa/Google Assistant in English.
• Check if you have modified the name of the bulb in “AvatarControls” app. if yes, you need to rediscover the devices through Alexa/Google app.

FAQs

Do you need a smart plug for this to work?****

Definitely not….but a smart plug is easier to set up. You only have to say…… Alexa, discover devices. All these other bulbs which do not require a hub are a challenge to set up. But it’s doable and easier with a smart phone.

Can these be dimmed with a conventional dimmer as well? I want to use them in a spot with a hardwired dimmer switch.****

Sure, it has an intensity limiter. Through your app your reduce and increase the intensity.

How to share the bulb to my father?****

by using the google home app you can add family members to your account so he can use the app independently.

Does this work with the basic Ikea uplight lamp as well?****

If a regular light bulb will work, this will too.

Does it work with tuya app?****

Yes, All Avatar Controls smart item work with tuya app, Smart Life app, AvatarControls app.

Can I use these bulbs outdoors?****

I use one as my front door porch light. It’s outside but it’s covered by a patio, so it doesn’t get any rain.

Does the light cast shadows? Looking for a bulb for a cut-out pattern shade that’s meant to cast shadows. Most now are too diffuse/soft.****

These bulbs are very much like normal incandescent bulbs but not particularly bright. I don’t think that they are what you are looking for.

My Wi-Fi changes between 2.4G & 5G depending on signal strength. Will this cause issues?****

A year later but, if your router is set up properly it will broadcast 2.4g and 5g simultaneously and the device will connect to what it’s compatible with.

Has anyone found a way to ramp up the brightness with Alexa? I can only get them to click on to the brightness level I set but not come on slowly.****

I’ve told my google home to turn the brightness to 100%. That works for me.

Unable to control each light with the smartapp, but works when you group them. How do you control them individually? The firmware is updated.****

Sorry to hear your problem with these bulbs. It can be very frustrating, right. If you haven’t already, try re-installing them while standing right next to the bulb and your wireless router. I really hope that works.

My light is blinking every 7 seconds. What does this mean?****

Every 7 seconds is the slower set up option. If you want to try it with the fast blinking, turn the light off. Wait a few seconds. Turn on, off, on, off, on, off. Wait. It doesn’t immediately start blinking. It takes a little bit. Once it does, then begin trying to set up.

Do these work with the SmartThings Hub?****

Not directly. Must use a service like IFTT or similar.

Is it a cool white bulb?****

Yes. It’s very bright.

I want to control a set, how to do?****

my downloading it’s app first then you can link it to google home.

Has anyone else had their lights stop working after only 12 months?****

Try reset. Mine has 3 years and no problem.
