LINORTEK NETBELL-NTG-W External Trigger

You may program your NetbellNTG to play a tone upon input from an external trigger such as a pushbutton or door contact switch.

Note: unless your trigger device supplies its own power, ensure your input switch is set to Pull UP (PU) (See Wiring the NetbellNTG page 5 and Board Layout Reference page 21 on the NetbellNTG User Manual)

ACTIVATING THE DIGITAL INPUT

Note: The following guide will assume you are using Digital input 1 and the tone EVACUATE.
Navigate to the Services dropdown menu and select Inputs. The top 4 items are your digital inputs. They are marked DIN 1 –DIN 4. Click on the pencil icon under DIN 1 and enter the following settings.
Name: You can set a 15-character name for this input. This name goes in the bar at the top of the display.
USE: Sets this input to active. When this box is checked, it will turn the input number indicator to green.
Type: Select State, this is for knowing if an input is on or off.
Display: This selections lets you change the display type used.
Relay L/T: E nter 1L, which means this input is linked to Relay 1.
Command Z/N/I: Enter I, which means Invert Input.
Click SAVE button.

SETTING TASK FOR DIGITAL INPUT

Now that your external trigger is wired to your NetbellNTG and your digital input is configured, you will need to set up a task.

  1. Navigate to the Tasks page
  2. Click the Edit icon on the first available task
  3. Name the task if desired
  4. Check the Use box
  5. Set Device A to Digital
  6. Set Data A to 1S=1 (1 represents the number of the digital input, S signifies to your device to refer to input state, the last 1 signifies the state is on)
  7. Set Device C to Send UART
  8. Set Data C to PEVACUATEOGG (to play sound file EVACUATE in this sample)
  9. Set Action to ON
  10. Click Save

If you are using a trigger such as a door contact switch, set Data A in the example above to 1S=0 to play the tone when the contact is broken.
