Product Usage Instructions
Using the App on an existing Wi-Fi Network

Open the app to access the Home screen.

If you want to monitor devices using UDP, ensure your Android device is connected to the same network as your Linortek devices.
The Home screen will populate with devices automatically as the app receives information from them. -
For advanced configurations, proceed to step 2.

Tap the + icon to go to the Add Device screen.

Select the Device Type (Hour Meter is the only option currently available).

Enter your device’s MAC address (not case-sensitive).

Select Communication Type.
* To use MQTT, configure an MQTT broker and connect the iTrixx app to the broker (Refer to Using MQTT with iTrixx Mobile).
4. Tap Add. After connecting to the device, the app will return to the Home screen.
- You can generate a device log as a .CSV file from the Home screen. A message will confirm the file has been saved and provide its location on your device.
Creating a Mobile Hotspot Where No Wi-Fi is Available
- To use the mobile app in an area without network access, create a Wi-Fi hotspot on your phone and connect your iTrixx hour meter to it.
- Setting up a Mobile Hotspot:
- Access the Wi-Fi page by tapping the Wi-Fi icon.
- Open your mobile device’s connections menu by tapping the Connections icon.
- Select Mobile Hotspot and Tethering, then tap Mobile Hotspot.
- Configure a network name and password for your hotspot, then turn on the hotspot. Note: Check your cellular data plan for hotspot usage.
Provisioning a Device
- Navigate to the WiFi page by tapping the Wi-Fi icon.
- Put your iTrixx Wifi Hour Meter into provisioning mode by holding the DFLT button.
- Connect to the Wi-Fi AP hosted by your iTrixx device using password ‘wifihmpsk’.
- Return to the Linortek mobile app to add the device after connecting.
Using MQTT with iTrixx Mobile
- Connecting to MQTT Broker:
- Tap the Settings icon.
- Enter the Host Address (IP address of MQTT broker).
- Enter the Port number (typically 1883 or 8883).
- Choose Client ID or generate a customized one.
- Enter the broker’s Username and Password if required.
- Tap Connect. The button will change to Disconnect upon successful connection.

- With the Linortek mobile app, you can monitor the status of your equipment from your Android device. This app includes features to ease in provisioning your iTrixx devices to a Wifi network to connect either to your facility’s local network or if there is no
- WiFi coverage in range, a mobile hotspot hosted from your Android device.
- Begin by downloading the app from Google Play at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.linortek&hl=en_US&gl=US
- This is a preliminary version of the mobile app, and does not yet contain all of its planned features.
Note: Names and locations of Android settings outside of the iTrixx App may change depending on the Android device and OS version.
Using the App on an existing Wi-Fi Network
- Open the app, you will be brought to the Home screen.
- If you wish to monitor your devices using UDP (This is the simplest method), simply ensure your Android device is connected to the same network as your Linortek devices and the Home screen will automatically populate with devices as the app receives information from them.
- For a more advanced configurations, proceed to step 2.
- Tap the “+” icon to navigate to the Add Device screen.

Select the Device Type you wish to monitor (At this time, Hour Meter is the only option)

Enter your device’s MAC address (this is not case sensitive)

Select Communication Type
- To use MQTT you will need to configure an MQTT broker and connect the iTrixx app to the broker. See Using MQTT with iTrixx Mobile

Tap Add

After a moment to connect to the device, the app will then return to the Home screen.

Creating a Mobile Hotspot Where No Wi-Fi is Available
If you want to use this mobile app at area where no network is able, you can
use the Wifi hotspot on your phone and connect your iTrixx hour meter to the
same hotspot.
Setting a Mobile Hotspot

Tap the Wi-Fi icon to go to the Wi-Fi Page

Tap the Connections icon (left) to open your mobile device’s connections menu.

Tap Mobile Hotspot and Tethering

Tap Mobile Hotspot

First, tap Configure to set a network name and password for your mobile hotspot.

Then, tap the slider to turn the hotspot on.
Note: Use of a mobile hotspot is subject to your cellular data plan
Provisioning a Device

Tap the Wi-Fi icon to navigate to the WiFi page

Tap the Wi-Fi icon to navigate to your mobile device’s Wi-Fi page.

Push and hold the DFLT button on your iTrixx Wifi Hour Meter to put it into provisioning mode.

Select the Wi-Fi AP hosted by your iTrixx device and connect to it using the password: wifihmpsk

You may get a pop-up notification informing you the connected network does not have internet access. Select Stay Connected

Use your mobile device’s Back button to return to the WiFi screen. A link will appear to take you to the iTrixx device’s provisioning page. Tap this link.

The app will open a page in your web browser automatically. Enter your WiFi network’s name and password, then tap Connect. You may get an error massage saying stating a failed connection, disregard this message.

Return to the Linortek mobile app to add the device to the app.
Using MQTT with iTrixx Mobile Connecting to MQTT Broker
- Tap the Settings icon
- Enter the Host Address. This is the IP address of the MQTT broker you wish to use
- Enter the Port number (Typically 1883 or 8883)
- Choose Client ID
- This can be customized or generated by tapping the icon to the right of the text field
- Choose Protocol
- MQTT – standard
- MQTTS – secure (Not yet implemented)
- Enter the broker’s Username and Password (Depending on your broker’s configuration, this may or may not be necessary)
- Tap Connect
- Upon connection, the Connect button will change to Disconnect, and the text above the button will confirm there is a connection to the broker
Add MQTT Device
- Select the Device Type you wish to connect to (Currently the only supported device is Hour Meter)
- Enter the device’s MAC Address (Not case sensitive)
- Select MQTT as the Communication Type
- Tap Add
- After taking a moment to subscribe to the device, you will be returned to the home page.
- The device may not appear until its next publication.
