How do I know when the pads need to be replaced?

For best cleaning results, replace your Dirt Grip pads every 3 to 4 months following normal use.

How often should I wash the Dirt Grip Pads?

For optimal performance, wash Dirt Grip pads after every use, and start each cleaning with a freshly laundered pad. Machine-wash the Dirt Grip pads separately with warm water, using liquid detergent. Never use bleach, powdered detergent or fabric softeners as they may damage or leave a coating on the pads. Dirt Grip pads should be line-dried or tumble-dried on a low setting.

How do I turn the Steam Mop off?

To turn off your Steam Mop, unplug the cord from the wall outlet and the unit will automatically cool and shut off.

How do I store my Steam Mop?

Empty all water from the unit before storing. Remove the Dirt Grip pad if it has been used, and clean it after every use. Never store the mop with a dirty pad on the mophead. It is not necessary to remove the Genius Mop Head when it is being stored.

-Triangle Scrubber with Steam Blaster: the triangle shaped head is perfect for getting into corners and other hard-to-reach spaces. The Steam Blaster offers a concentrated burst of powerful steam for tough stains.
– Dirt Grip pads:
2-pad package that fits the Genius Mop head

-Pad storage bag: comes with separate storage compartments for both new pads and used ones, so your new pads always stay clean.

What surfaces can I use the Steam Mop on?

The Steam Mop is designed for use on all sealed hard-floor surfaces. We recommend that you first Test an isolated area of the floor surface to be cleaned as well as review the use and care instructions from your floor manufacturer.
WARNING:  Do not use on leather, wax-polished furniture, synthetic fabrics, velvet, or other delicate, Steam-sensitive materials.
NOTE:  on surfaces treated with wax and on some no-wax floors, the sheen may be removed by the heat or Steam action of the unit.
Test an isolated area of flooring first to see if sheen is affected.

Which accessories can be stored onboard the Spray Pocket Mop?

The filling flask can be stored onboard the Steam Mop for quick access. If your unit comes with the Spray Pocket Mop the Spray bottle can be stored on the handle of the Spray Pocket Mop so your cleaning solution is always handy and ready

Will the lights burn out?

The LED lights in the front panel should not burn out.

Can I put something other than water in the water tank of the Steam Mop?

Can I use the Steam Mop on carpets?

The Steam Mop is not designed for carpet cleaning.

How do I attach the accessories to my Steam Mop?

In order to attach a mop head to the body of the Shark Genius Steam Pocket Mop, simply align the red portion of the Genius Mop Head (which reads “WARNING: HOT STEAM”) with the Head Release button on the front of the Steam Mop Body. Push the mop head and the mop body together until you hear a click, which indicates that the two parts are joined properly.
