WARRANTY CARD

TECH company ensures the Buyer’s proper operation of the device for a period of 24 months from the date of sale. The Guarantor undertakes to repair the device free of charge if the defects occurred through the manufacturer’s fault. The device should be delivered to its manufacturer. Principles of conduct in the case of a complaint are determined by the Act on specific terms and conditions of consumer sale and amendments of the Civil Code (Journal of Laws of 5 September 2002).

CAUTION!
THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR CANNOT BE IMMERSED IN ANY LIQUID (OIL ETC). THIS MAY RESULT IN DAMAGING THE CONTROLLER AND LOSS OF WARRANTY! THE ACCEPTABLE RELATIVE HUMIDITY OF THE CONTROLLER’S ENVIRONMENT IS 5÷85% REL.H. WITHOUT THE STEAM CONDENSATION EFFECT.

THE DEVICE IS NOT INTENDED TO BE OPERATED BY CHILDREN.
Activities related to setting and regulation of the controller parameters described in the Instruction Manual and parts wearing out during normal operation, such as fuses, are not covered by warranty repairs. The warranty does not cover damages arising as a result of improper operation or through the user’s fault, mechanical damage, or damage created as a result of fire, flood, atmospheric discharges, overvoltage, or short-circuit. The interference of an unauthorized service, wilful repairs, modifications, and construction changes cause the loss of the Warranty. TECH controllers have protective seals. Removing a seal results in the loss of Warranty.

The costs of an unjustifiable service call to a defect will be borne exclusively by the buyer. An unjustifiable service call is defined as a call to remove damages not resulting from the Guarantor’s fault as well as a call considered unjustifiable by the service after diagnosing the device (e.g. damage of the equipment through the fault of the client or not subject to Warranty), or if the device defect occurred for reasons lying beyond the device.

In order to execute the rights arising from this Warranty, the user is obliged, at his own cost and risk, to deliver the device to the Guarantor along with a correctly filled-in warranty card (containing, in particular, the sale date, the seller’s signature and a description of the defect) and sales proof (receipt, VAT invoice, etc.). The Warranty Card is the only basis for repair free of charge. The complaint repair time is 14 days. When the Warranty Card is lost or damaged, the manufacturer does not issue a duplicate.

Safety

Before using the device for the first time the user should read the following regulations carefully. Not obeying the rules included in this manual may lead to personal injuries or controller damage. The user’s manual should be stored in a safe place for further reference. In order to avoid accidents and errors it should be ensured that every person using the device has familiarized themselves with the principle of operation as well as the security functions of the controller. If the device is to be sold or put in a different place, make sure that the user’s manual is there with the device so that any potential user has access to essential information about the device. The manufacturer does not accept responsibility for any injuries or damage resulting from negligence; therefore, users are obliged to take the necessary safety measures listed in this manual to protect their lives and property.

WARNING
A qualified electrician should install the device.

Description

  • EU-R-8z room regulator is intended for cooperation with the EU-L-8 external controller.
  • EU-R-8z room regulators are installed in the heating zones. Temperature information sent by them to the external controller is used to control the thermostatic valves (by opening them when the room temperature is too low and closing them when the pre-set room temperature has been reached).

The current temperature is shown on an LED display. The user may also change the preset temperature permanently or for a limited period of time directly from the sensor.
Controller equipment:

  • LED display
  • built-in temperature sensor
  • wall-mountable cover
  • light sensor

Installation

The controller should be installed by a qualified person.

  • WARNING
Risk of fatal electric shock from touching live connections. Before working on the controller switch off the power supply and prevent it from being accidentally switched on.

  • WARNING
Incorrect connection of the wires may damage the regulator!

How to register the room regulator in a particular zone

Each room regulator should be registered in one zone. Enter the EU-L-8 external controller menu and select Sensor in the submenu of a given zone (Zone/Registration/Sensor)- after pressing the Registration icon, press the communication button in a room regulator placed on the back of the sensor. If the registration process has been completed successfully, the EU-L-8 controller display shows an appropriate message whereas the room sensor display shows “Scs”. In case of errors in the registration process, the room sensor display shows “Err”.

The following rules must be kept in mind:

  • once registered, the sensor cannot be unregistered, but only switched off in the menu of the EU-L-8 external controller by selecting Switched off in the submenu of a given zone.
  • if the user attempts to assign a sensor to the zone to which another sensor has already been assigned, the first sensor becomes unregistered and it is replaced by the second one.
  • if the user attempts to assign a sensor that has already been assigned to a different zone, the sensor is unregistered from the first zone and registered in the new one.

It is possible to set individual pre-set temperature values and weekly schedules for each room regulator assigned to a given zone. The settings may be configured both in the main menu of the EU-L-8 external controller (Main menu/Sensors) and via www.emodul.eu (using EU-505 or WiFi RS). The pre-set temperature may also be adjusted directly from the room sensor using the PLUS and MINUS buttons.

Description of the functions available in the menu

In order to enter the menu, press and hold the PLUS and MINUS buttons. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to navigate among menu functions.

  1. Cal – This function enables the user to view sensor calibration. After the Cal function has been selected, the screen flashes for 3 seconds and displays the calibration value.
  2. Loc – This function enables the user to activate the button lock. After the Loc function has been selected, the screen flashes for 3 seconds and you are asked if you want to activate the lock (yes/no). Confirm using the PLUS or MINUS button. In order to confirm your choice, wait 3 seconds. Once the lock has been activated, the buttons are locked automatically after 10 seconds of inactivity. In order to unlock, press and hold PLUS and MINUS at the same time. When Ulc appears on the screen, the buttons have been unlocked.
  3. Def – This function enables the user to restore factory settings. Once Deffunction has been selected, the screen flashes for 3 seconds, and you are asked if you want to restore factory settings (yes/no). Select using PLUS or MINUS. Wait 3 seconds to confirm your choice.
  4. Ret – exit the menu. Once Ret has been selected, the screen flashes for 3 seconds and returns from the menu to the main screen view.

How to change the pre-set temperature

The pre-set zone temperature may be adjusted directly from the R-8z room sensor using the PLUS and MINUS buttons.

During controller inactivity, the main screen displays the current zone temperature. After pressing PLUS or MINUS, the current temperature is replaced with the pre-set temperature (the digits are flashing). Using PLUS and MINUS the user may adjust the preset temperature value. After setting desired value wait for 3 seconds – after this time the display shows a panel to define how long the new setting should apply.

Time settings may be adjusted:

  • permanently – press PLUS button until Con appears on the screen (the pre-set value will apply all the time regardless of schedule settings)
  • for a specified number of hours – press PLUS or MINUS until the desired number of hours appears on the screen e.g. 01h (the pre-set value will apply for a specified period of time; after that, the weekly schedule will apply)
  • if the temperature value defined in the weekly schedule settings should apply, press MINUS until the screen displays OFF.
