Humidity Calibration Procedure
In order to calibrate the meter humidity calibration standards are required (REED R9933, R9975 or R9980). If the meter has been exposed to extreme conditions or it has not been used in a long period of time the meter should be calibrated by following steps 1 through 7 below.

  1. While the meter is off, press the HOLD, °C/°F, and POWER buttons simultaneously and release.
  2. When the LCD flashes, press the REL button to enter calibration mode. This will be indicated by “CAL 1” on the LCD.
  3. Insert the tip of the meter into the 33%RH Humidity Calibration Standard (REED R9933) and press the MAX/MIN button once the reading has stabilized which may take up to 10 minutes.
  4. The calibration adjustment will be confirmed by a long beep.
  5. The meter will then display “CAL 2” to calibrate the second calibration point (75%). Insert the tip of the meter into the 75%RH Humidity Calibration Standard (REED R9975) and press the MAX/MIN button once the reading has stabilized which may take up to 10 minutes. Disregard the actual final reading on the meter once it has stabilized before pressing the MIN/MAX button.
  6. The calibration adjustment will be confirmed by a long beep.
  7. After both calibrations are complete, the meter will resume normal operation.

Note: The calibration steps can be cancelled at any point by pressing the ON/OFF button.
