PROPER USE OF THE PRODUCT

The fan heater is used to heat vehicles in winter and to cool them in summer. The fan heater is connected to a 12 V vehicle socket. The fold-out handle allows the device to be hand-guided enabling you to specifically heat or cool individual locations. This device is not designed to be used by children or people with limited mental abilities or without experience and/or lack of required specialist knowledge. Keep children away from the device.
Use according to the intended purpose also includes the reading of all information in these operating instructions, particularly the reading of the safety notes. Any other utilisation is considered to be contrary to the intended purpose and may lead to material damage or personal injuries. EAL GmbH assumes no liability for damage resulting from improper use.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  • The warning triangle labels all instructions important to safety. Always follow these otherwise you could injure yourself or damage the device.
  • Children may not play with the device.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance may not be carried out by children without supervision.
  • Do not treat packaging material carelessly. This may become a dangerous plaything for a child!
  • Only use this product for its designated purpose!
  • Do not modify or disassemble the device!
  • For your own safety, only use accessories and spare parts that are stated in these instructions or that are recommended by the manufacturer!
  • Only use the fan heater in a vehicle, never outdoors.
  • Connect the fan heater to a 12 V socket only. Other voltages may destroy the device or cause a fire.
  • Never leave the fan heater unattended when it is switched on.
  • Secure the fan heater in such a way as to ensure that it cannot come unattached in the event of an accident or under emergency braking and thus does not represent a risk to those in the vehicle.
  • The fan heater may not be mounted in the vicinity of the air bags or on head impact zones.
  • Mount the fan heater in such a way that it does not obstruct your vision when driving.
  • Lay the connection cable so that it does not hinder you when driving.
  • Lay the cable loosely and openly. Do not lay the cable between seat cushions or under foot mats. Do not cover, for example, with clothing, blankets or seat covers. This is a fire risk.
  • Always disconnect the connection cable from the socket when you are not using the fan heater. Always disconnect the cable from the socket using the plug, never using the cable itself.
  • Make sure that the inlet and outlet openings are always kept free. No flammable materials may be located in the vicinity. Do not place cloth, newspapers or similar on top of the device. Do not insert objects into the openings. Always pay attention to sufficient ventilation.
  • Only operate the fan heater when driving or when the motor is running, otherwise there is a risk that the starter battery of your vehicle may be discharged.
  • Do not expose the device to damp or rain. Ensure that no dew or condensation is able to drip onto the device.
  • After 4 hours of continuous operation, switch the device off for at least 30 minutes to allow it to cool.

CAUTION:
When using for a longer period of time, the heat elements become very hot. Risk of burning.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Fixture using adhesive pad
Combine the fixture pedestal (Position 7 in the overview) and the housing (Position 3 in the overview), see Figure 2.

Look for a suitable location in your vehicle to position the fan heater. The fixture surface must be smooth and even (no grainedsurfaces). Pay attention to the appropriate points in the safety precautions (section 4). Clean the surface and the underside ofthe fixture pedestal to remove dust and grease. Pull the protective film from one side ofthe adhesive pad (Position 8 in theoverview). Place the adhesive pad onto the fixture pedestal, with the adhesive surface on the bottom, and push firmly intoplace, see Figure 3. Now remove the other protective film of the adhesive pad. Place the fan heater in the cleaned spot in your vehicle and pressfirmly into place.

Connecting the fan heater
Lay the connection cable so that it does not hinderyou when driving. Check whether the switch (Position 6 in the overview) is in position „0“, see Figure 4. Plug the connector into the 12 V vehicle socket. The fan heater is now ready for  operation.

Operation
Only operate the fan heater when driving or when the motor is running, otherwise there is a risk that the battery of your vehicle may be discharged. Using the switch (Position 6 in the overview), you can choose between two modes: If you set the switch to „Heat“, the fan heater acts as a heater, in the „Fan“ setting, the fan is operated without switching the heating element on. You can switch the device off by bringing the switch to the „0“ position.

Use as hand-held device
In this mode, the device may not be used when the vehicle is in motion. Carefully separate the housing from the fixture pedestal. Fold the handle out (Position 5 in the overview). Hold the device with one hand, and use the other to pull the handle out of the device by the metal ring, see Figure 5. Plug the connector into the 12 V vehicle socket. Switch the device on using the switch. Now you can target individual areas to warm or cool them. Pay attention to ensure sufficient safety distance to surfaces. After completing your task, switch the device, bring the switch to the „0“ position, and pull the connector out of the socket.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

Maintenance
The fan heater is maintenance-free if used according to its intended purpose.

Care
Before cleaning, switch the fan heater off and remove the plug from the socket. Clean the housing of the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents or solvent-based cleaners. Never allow liquids to ingress into the housing. The inlet and outlet openings may be cleaned with a paintbrush, a small brush or carefully with a vacuum cleaner.

NOTES REGARDING ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Do not dispose of electrical devices with the household waste! Electrical and electronic scrap must be collected separately and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner for recycling. Please contact your community or city administration regarding disposal options for electrical and electronic scrap.
