Warning!

Installation and pairing

  • Connect to a Wi-Fi network with your mobile phone.
  • Download the Smart Lifetap to your mobile phone from Google Play or the Apple Store . (You can use the QR code scan to download.)

  • New users must register and create a new account. Users who already have an account can log in to the Smart Life app using their login credentials.
  • Connect the smart socket to a network near the router. You can change the position within WiFi range later.

Remark: The socket supports only 2.4GHz network. If your router supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks, choose 2.4GHz.

  • Briefly press the button on the socket. The LED will light up to indicate that the device is switched on.
  • In the Smart Life app, select the “+” in the top right corner of the screen and select “Power outlet (Wi-Fi)” in the “Electrical” category .
  • Select a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password for that network. Press the “Next” button to connect to the network.
  • Hold the button for approximately 5-10 seconds. The LED will flash. The socket is reset to factory settings and is ready for pairing. Continue with the “Next” button.
  • Press “Next” to confirm that the LED is flashing. Then select “Blink Quickly”.
  • Select the desired socket by pressing “+”. Pairing the socket can take 1-2 minutes.

Remark: If the app displays a pairing error, return to the app’s home screen and try reconnecting your device by following the steps above.

  • After successful pairing, you can rename the device using the pencil symbol. Then click on “Done” in the top right corner.
    Warning: The individual steps may vary for Smart Life updates.

Remark: Each device can only be paired with one account. If you want to use the socket on multiple devices, share devices via the Smart Life app (Pencil symbol – Shared devices)

Functions
Select the desired function “Countdown”, “Plan”, “Cycler”, “Random”, “Stepping”, “Geolocation”
Deduction: The device switches off or on after the set time has elapsed.
Plan: The device turns on or off at the time and day you select.
Cyclist: Set the start and end of the cycle execution (Main cycle) and the days when the cycle is to be executed.
Then set the “On Time” and “Off Time”. These two intervals will alternate for the duration of the set Main Cycle.
Random: If the set time interval is equal to or more than 1 hour, the socket will turn on within 2-30 minutes after the start of the set timer and turn off within 2-30 minutes before the end of the set timer. If the set timer is less than 1 hour, the delayed on time is 2-X minutes and the delayed off time is 2-X minutes. (X= (time interval / 2) -2)
Example: You set the timer to start at 8:00 and end at 8:30. The device randomly switches on between 8:02 and 8:13. The device randomly switches off between 8:17 and 8:28.
Stepping: This function causes the device to switch off after the set time has elapsed. If this function is enabled, the countdown starts every time the device is switched on.
Geolocation: After setting the GPS location, the socket keeps track of when the sun rises/sets in that location. You can then use this changing data accurately, or in advance, or with a delay. This program is ideal for lighting, Christmas decorations or pergolas.

Measurements

The consumption measurement is displayed in a clear graph. You can choose to view by month or by year. You can switch between time periods.
Above the chart, the current consumption is displayed.
The daily and monthly consumption can also be found on the main screen of the smart socket.

Settings

Relay status:
After a power failure, the socket will be maintained according to the settings:
Off: the device remains off when power is restored. On: the device turns on when power is restored.
Remember the last state: when the power is restored, the socket will return to the state it was in before the outage.
Remark: The relay status is automatically set to “off”. LED light: You can choose one of the following:

  • Socket off/on indication: LED is on when the socket is on and off when the socket is off
  • Socket position indication: The LED is not lit when the socket is switched on and is lit when the socket is switched off.
  • LED off: The light is always off.
  • LED on : The indicator light is always on.

Childproofing:
Turning this function on prevents the socket from being operated manually. It can only be controlled by the app. When you press the button on the device four times in quick succession, the child safety switches off.

Working with Google Home
Open your Google Home app and select “Smart Life” in Home Control. Enter the correct login details for successful pairing.
Your device will be displayed in the Home Control list.

Pairing with Amazon Alexa

  • Link your Tuya account to Alexa.
  • Open the Alexa app, select “Skills” from the menu and search for “Smart Life”. After selecting “Smart Life”, click “Enable” to enable Smart Life skills.
  • You will be redirected to the login screen. Enter the correct login details for your Tuya account. Then select “Link Now” to link your accounts.
  • Take control of your device
  • Identify the device: Echo first needs to recognize your device before you can control it. Tell your Echo “Alexa, discover devices.” Echo will recognize devices that have already been added in the Smart Life app. An alternative for recognizing a new device is to select the “discover devices” button. – The recognized devices will be displayed in a list.

Remark: Whenever you change the name of your device in the Smart Life app, Echo will have to rediscover the device.

Share a device: Shares equipment with household members. Enter the household member’s login in the Smart Life app.
Create a group: Devices in the same group can be controlled simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions -FAQ

  1. What should I do if I can’t turn the device off or on? Make sure your mobile device and the socket are connected to the same WiFi network. Make sure the devices connected to the socket are switched on.
  2. What should I do if the socket failed to pair?
  3. Check if the device is powered.
  4. Make sure your mobile device is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network.
  5. Check that the device is within WiFi range or move the socket to another location.
  6. Check your internet connection. Make sure the router is working as it should.
  7. If the router allows both 2.4GHz and 5GHz signal, select 2.4GHz and then add a socket.
  8. Enable the router’s broadcast function. Configure the encryption method as WPA2-PSK and the authorization type as AES, or set both to “automatic”.
  9. Check for WiFi signal interference or move the device to another position with a stronger signal.
  10. Check if the devices connected to the router are within the limit. Please try disabling some features on WiFi-enabled devices and try reconnecting the socket.
  11. Make sure the wireless MAC filtering feature is enabled. Remove the device from the filtered list and make sure that the router does not prohibit the use of smart device connections.
  12. Make sure that you have entered the correct password into the app to connect to the WiFi network.
  13. Make sure the device is ready for pairing: Blue light flashes fast (twice per second) for fast connection mode, flashes slow (once every two seconds) for Access Point connection mode.
  14. Repeat the application configuration process.
  15. Reset the socket to factory settings and try pairing it again.
