  • When using on gas stoves, the pressure cooker should be properly centered over the burner so that the flame does not hit the side wall and the handles. For use on electric or vitroceramic stoves (electric heating element), make sure the pot is centered over the heating area so that there is uniform heat transfer and distribution. Always remember that the heat source (flame/heating region) should not be larger than the bottom of the pressure cooker.

INCORRECT USE OF THE PRESSURE COOKER CAN CAUSE DAMAGE
When steam begins to escape through the working valve, lower the heat to save electrical energy or gas.

  1. SLOW COOL DOWN: let the cooker cool down to room temperature.
    • Lift the working valve slowly with a fork to check whether all the steam inside is completely
  2. FAST COOLING: : keep the pressure regulator in place and pour cold water over the lid. This will reduce the pressure inside the pot. Lift the pressure regulator again with the aid of a fork to check whether the internal pressure has been completely released.
  • The working valve should never be removed while the cooker is After the cooker is cool, carefully remove the working valve.
  • Remove the lid only after checking that no pressure remains in the cooker. To remove, turn the lid counter clock-wise until the arrow on the lid is aligned with the arrow on the handle (figure _8).

_

  • When turning the lid, do not push the handles upward. Simply turn the lid gently until the arrows are Then lift and remove the lid. This will avoid damaging the parts.
  • If there is resistance in opening the cooker, it means there is still some pressure inside the If this happens, do not force the handles open.

Safety valves and systems

For your protection, the Tramontina Pressure Cooker comes with the following safety valves and systems

WORKING VALVE: (PRESSURE RELEASE): This valve is triggered into action when the cooker reaches its operating pressure (12 psi). It should be wound down to the bottom for the correct working position

NOTE: For proper operation of the cooker, the working valve does not have to be moving, but the pressure must be released from the cooker evenly

To set the safety valve in place

SAFETY VALVE : will come into operation relieving pressure when the Pressure Regulator is blocked. In this case, the Valve pin moves upward, decreasing internal pressure, figure When this occurs, turn off the heat, cool it down, and make sure that there is no internal pressure before opening the pot. Remove the Pressure Regulator, unclog the orifices of the Steam Vent Pin and put it in place again. Return the Safety Valve Pin to the right position (original position), figure B, by pressing it downward. Only restart the process when the pin is in the original position. If there is frequent steam vent through the Safety Valve, and the Pressure Regulator is not blocked, replace it with a new, original one.
SAFETY VALVE
SAFETY VALVE

LATERAL SAFETY SYSTEM : will be engaged when both the Pressure Regulator and the Safety Valve are obstructed simultaneously, generated excessive internal pressure. If this happens, the pressure will be released through the side vent on the lid, which will have a partially displaced Seal Ring. Turn off the heat and after the pressure is fully released, open the lid and clean the Pressure Regulator and Safety Valve. When the lateral safety system is triggered, this indicates that the seal ring needs to be replaced. For replacement, contact the nearest Tramontina unit at one of the addresses found on the website (www.tramontina.com.br).

  • If the Safety Valve or the Lateral Safety System starts operating, liquid and food will escape from inside the cooker

SAFETY LOCK BUTTON: If the cooker is not properly closed, this button will prevent the build-up of internal pressure. However, when the cooker is properly closed, this valve will prevent the lid from being opened when there is internal pressure. Open the lid only if you are sure that there is an absence of internal pressure. To open, turn the lid counterclockwise until the arrow on the lid is aligned with the arrow on the handle
SAFETY LOCK BUTTON

NOTE : Never use force to open your pot. It should open with minimal effort. When it does not, this indicates that there may still be internal pressure

How to safely use your pressure cooker

  • Before closing the cooker, be sure there is enough liquid to produce steam when heated (see the table for food and liquid quantities). However, never exceed the maximum limit indicated on the cooker, considering food and water _(fig. 9).

_

  • When making soup or broth, do not fill the pot more than halfway with food and water. Overfilling the pressure cooker with food can lead to the obstruction of valves due to broth leaking through the working valve, which can compromise the performance of the cooker

WORKING VALVE (PRESSURE RELEASE):

  • After each use, make sure the pressure regulator and steam outlet pin are unclogged. If they are not, clean as described in the section below:
  • Take the lid off your pressure cooker, remove the Pressure Regulator and place the lid against the light to check whether the Steam Outlet Pin is unclogged. If it is not, clean it with a wire, as well as the four holes of the Steam Outlet Pin on the inside of the lid; look at it again against the light to make When they are all clean, assemble the Pressure Regulator.

SEALING RING (SILICONE):

  • Remove the sealing ring (silicone).
  • Wash with warm water and mild
  • Place ring in the
  • Check the condition of the silicone sealing ring regularly for wear and tear and replace when
  • For the Sealing Ring to last longer, we recommend storing your pressure cooker with the lid inverted on top of the cooker
  • Special attention should be paid to the cooker’s sealing ring and safety systems. The sealing ring should fit snugly inside the lid and the lid should fit properly on the cooker

For your own safety, use only original Tramontina parts and accessories.

Safety tips

  1. WARNING: To avoid accidents, never open your TRAMONTINA PRESSURE COOKER without first releasing all the pressure inside
  2. When adding food and water, never exceed the maximum level indicated on the inner wall of the pot
  3. Due to the condensation of excess steam, water drops might form on the lid and the handle
  4. When the VANCOUVER or VANCOUVER SPOT PRESSURE COOKER starts working, it is normal for steam or water droplets to escape through the internal closing Valve of the upper handle. After a few moments, the pressure regulator will start working
  5. Do not bang the edge of your pressure cooker with kitchen utensils, because this will damage the ceramic coating and may compromise its perfect seal
  6. The cooker should never be used without water, because this could damage the silicone ring and the safety valves may Moreover, overheating may cause warping at the bottom of the pot, altering its functioning. We do not recommend using it in these conditions.
  7. When removing the pot from the heat, do not force the lid to Check the internal pressure by lifting the pressure regulator (pressure release) with the aid of a fork.
  8. When storing your pressure cooker, place the lid upside down on the Do not store with the lid closed.
  9. Do not rub the locking tabs on the lid excessively to avoid wearing them out.
  10. The handles might come loose over time due to normal expansion of Retighten them sufficiently with a cross-head screwdriver, without force.
  11. Do not use the cooker if any parts are damaged.
  12. With the lid in position for use, press the handle trigger (bottom) back so that the handle’s internal valve pin is turned down in rest This will ensure that the lid does not lock when closing the cooker.
  13. Avoid accidents by using Tramontina original parts when replacing valves and other parts of your cooker. The use of non-original parts or parts for other models will result in loss of the warranty as well as causing the product to function incorrectly, which can result in accidents
  14. The cooker should not be used on a countertop burner or hot plate.
