BATTERY INSTALLATION
- Remove the battery cover by pushing down the recess part on the door. Slide the battery door off the radio.
- Install the rechargeable Lithium Ion (Li Ion) battery provided.
- Slide and snap the battery door into place
CHARGING THE BATTERY / RADIO
- Place the multi unit charger on a flat surface.
- Insert the plug of the power cord into the jack of the charger.
- Plug the cord into an AC outlet.
- Turn the radio off.
- Insert the radio (with battery installed) into the charging slots. LED will light up. The LED is solid red when battery is charging and solid green when charging is complete.
- Charge the radios at least 4-6 hours prior to use.
BASIC RADIO OPERATION
- To talk, press and hold the “Push to Talk” button and speak into the microphone. Hold the radio 2-3 inches away from your mouth.
- To listen, release “Push to Talk”.
- NOTE *When using an earpiece, you must use the Push to Talk button located on the earpiece wire, not on the radio.
SCAN FOR ACTIVE CHANNEL
- To scan for active channel, press the S/M key. The scan icon will display, and the radio will begin to scan the channels.
- When the radio detects activity, it stops on that channel and displays the channel number.
- To talk to the person transmitting without switching channels, press the Push-to-talk button before scan resumes.
- To stop scanning, press the “S/M” key.
