  • Never use the gas burner if it is leaking.
  • Always point the nozzle down and at a 45° angle away from your legs.
  • Always allow the burner to cool after use and before putting it away

DESCRIPTION

Gas cylinder

The weed burner uses butane/propane. The cylinder must have a valve and thread in accordance with the standard: EN 417. See Jula’s current range of gas cylinders at www.jula.se.

ASSEMBLY

Fitting the gas cylinder

  1. Check that the valve is closed.
  2. Fit the gas cylinder by screwing it into the thread.
  3. Check for leakage – see section “Leakage and tightness check”

Removing the gas cylinder

  1. Check that the valve is closed.
  2. Unscrew the gas cylinder from the weed burner.

USE

Lighting

  1. Turn the regulator.
  2. Press the automatic lighter one or more times until the gas lights. Always point the nozzle down at a 45° angle away from people and animals.

Adjusting the flame

You adjust the flame by turning the regulator valve.

When burning

  • Take care when using the burner in very dry areas – fire risk.
  • Check the gas cylinder if there is a problem with the supply of gas during the burning. If the cylinder still contains gas the problem can be rectified by cleaning the nozzle (see Cleaning the nozzle).

Switching off

  1. Turn the regulator until the flame goes out.
  2. Residual gas in the regulator may prevent the flame from going out immediately

MAINTENANCE

MAINTENANCE

  1. Removing the regulator tap
  2. Remove the nozzle with a spanner.
  3. Clean the nozzle by blowing in the hole.
  4. Fit the nozzle again.
  5.  Check that the nozzle is tight (see Leakage and tightness check)

Leakage and tightness check

Spray soapy water on the area to be checked. If bubbles appear in the water this means there is a leak, and the burner must not be used until the seal is replaced and the burner is tight.

Replacing the seal in the valve

  1. Remove the old seal with a flat screwdriver. Make sure not to damage any of the other components.
  2. Insert a new seal. Use a flat screwdriver to put it in place. Be careful not to damage the seal or any other part.

NOTE:

Be careful at all times when using the gas burner and always keep it at a safe distance from children and animals.

Storage

  1. Always remove the gas cylinder after use, and store the burner in a cool, dry place.
  2. Do not expose the gas cylinder to direct sunlight. Do not store the gas cylinder where the temperature can exceed 50°C.
  3. Store out of the reach of children.
