Safety, regulatory and legal information

Thanks for choosing LS830, a Fixed Wireless phone supporting LTE/UMTS/GSM network, and Android smart OS enriching the diversified desktop applications. A valid SIM card from your network operator is required before you enjoy it.
Battery:
The device contains a Li-on Polymer battery of 4000mAh capacity.
Don’t try to open the battery yourself. Attempting to disassemble the battery may cause burning and injury.
Don’t crush, bend, or expose the battery to heat or liquid. This may damage the battery and may cause burning and injury.
CAUTION RISK OF EXPLOSION IF BATTERY IS REPLACED BY AN INCORRECT TYPE.
DISPOSE OF USED BATTERIES ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS.

Power Adaptor:
Always use the original power adaptor with the device. An unqualified 3-party power adaptor may damage this device and may cause burning and injury.
Operating Environments:
Respect special regulations in force in any area, and always switch off your device when its use is prohibited, or if it could cause danger. When connecting the phone or any accessory to another device, read the user manual for detailed safety instructions. Do not connect incompatible products. It is recommended that the equipment should only be used in the normal position for proper operation and personnel safety.
The device operates at the environment temperature -10℃~ +45 ℃ or 14℉~ 113℉. The usage out of this temperature range may damage the device and may meet device auto power off.

Medical Devices:
Most medical devices can be protected from the RF signal of LS830, but not all of them. If you have any questions or need more information, consult your doctor or the manufacturer of your medical device.

High Volume Usage:

Exposure to loud noise from any source for extended periods of time may affect your hearing. The louder the sound, the less time is required before your hearing could be affected. To protect your hearing:

  • Limit the amount of time you use handsets or headphones at high volume.
  • Avoid turning up the volume to block out noisy surroundings.
  • Turn the volume down if you can’t hear people speaking near you.
  • If you experience hearing discomfort, including the sensation of pressure or fullness in your ears, ringing in your ears, or muffled speech, you should stop listening to the device through the handset or headphones and have your hearing checked.

Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss.

Start to use

Follow the steps shown below

  1. Turn the LS830 device upside down.

  2. Push the button and pull out the battery door as the picture shows.

  3. Insert SIM card.
    Follow the arrow indicator to open the connector;
    Insert SIM card;
    Push the connector in the opposite direction to lock.

  4. Insert an optional memory card.

  5. Put in battery and lock battery door to its original position.

  6. Insert power adaptor till you see blue color LED light indication.

  7. Insert a curly cable in the device as well as the handset.

Home screen, apps, and notification

The home screen is what users see firstly when the device is turned on. From here, the User may access frequently used apps and quick settings.

Press and hold the screen to change favorite apps, wallpapers, and widgets.

Make a call

Users may make a call through three optional activities:

  • Press ‘Dial Key’
  • Press ‘Number Keys’
  • Press ‘Handsfree Key’
    A dial pad will appear on the screen. In case of error number input, the User may press ‘ ’ to correct.
    Be noted that the user needs to press ‘Dial Key’ after finishing the numbers input to make a call.

Call from handset:
On the home screen, the user may pick up the handset directly to enter the dial pad. There will be a ringing notice from the handset earpiece till the User press any key. After finishing the numbers input, the User needs to press the ‘Dial key’ to make a call.
Call in Handsfree mode:
Once the User press any ‘Number Key’, ‘Dial Key’, or ‘Handsfree Key’, the device will enter the dial pad in hands-free mode. There will be a ringing notice from the loudspeaker till the User press any key. After finishing the numbers input, the User needs to press the ‘Dial key’ to make a call.

Answer an incoming call:
Once there is an incoming call, the User may answer the call by taking the handset or pressing ‘Dial Key’ to answer the call. Users may reject the call by pressing the ‘End Call Key.

Operations during a call

  • Call interaction in application progress
    Once a call income is in the progress of some application, for example, Internet Radio, a notification will appear on the screen.

Reject call:
Press the End Call key’ or the ‘DISMISS’ icon on the screen. The call will be rejected and on hold, and the application will resume. Some applications will be in pause status for a user to activate again.

Accept call
User press the ‘Dial key’, ‘ANSWER’ icon on the screen, or pick up the ‘Handset’. Incoming the call will be accepted and the application will be put on hold. Some applications will resume as soon as the call ends while other applications request the user to activate again.

  • End a call
    After finishing a call, the User presses the ‘End Call key’ or puts down the Handset to end the call process. In some VOIP applications, for example, SKYPE does not recognize LS830 hard keys. Once the User press the ‘End Call key’ or put down Handset, the VOIP call will be put in the background instead of ending this VOIP call. The user should press ‘End Call Icon’ on the application screen interface.

  • Call modes
    LS830 device supports Handset, Handsfree, Headset, and Bluetooth mode for voice communication. Please note that the User should have a CTIA standard cable headset or Bluetooth headset, which is excluded from the sales box, to use the optional Headset mode or Bluetooth mode.

Handset switch to Handsfree:
During a call in Handset mode, press the ‘Handsfree key’ and put down the Handset. This call will switch to Handsfree mode. The user takes up the Handset again then this call will switch from Handsfree to Handset mode.

Handsfree switch to Handset:
During a call in Handsfree mode, the device will switch to Handset mode once the User takes up the Handset.

Headset mode switch:
During a call in Headset mode, the device will change to Handset mode once the User plugs out the headset. Users need to pick up the Handset to continue this call or press the ‘Handsfree key’ to switch to Handsfree mode.

Contacts

To add contacts to a new device may choose two options:

  • Contacts Synchronization
    Press the icon ‘ADD ACCOUNT’ to synchronize contacts saved in a cloud server, for example, Google account or MS Exchange server account.

  • Import Contacts file from Memory
    Press the icon ‘IMPORT CONACTS’ to import the contacts files from the device storage.

  • Import Single Contact
    Press the icon to to add a single Contact.

After filling in the Contact information, press the icon on top of the screen to finish.

Settings-Network

The device LS830 supports kinds of Wireless Network capability, 4G LTE or 3G UMTS data, short range 2.4GHz WIFI, and Bluetooth data.
The user has two options to access the Network configuration. One option is to slide down the notification bar on top of the screen, to access the frequently used menu. The other option is to press the ‘Settings’ icon to access the full list.

The default setting is ‘Off’ status for WIFI or Bluetooth. Press the button from left to right and the device will switch to ‘On’ status to activate the connection. Then available WIFI hotspots or Bluetooth devices in range will display. Choose one of them by pressing to connect WIFI or pair it with Bluetooth devices.

In the Network&Internet menu list, the User can activate airplane mode, Hotspot&Tethering, VPN, or Cellular data general settings.

Settings-Device

Apps&Notifications: Users can stop, disable or uninstall applications. Note that the Android default application may not be uninstalled. Users can customize the notification state for installed applications: Block all; Show silently or Override Do Not Disturb.
Battery: This sub-menu shows battery consumption percentage and approximate usage time left. It is recommended to always connect the power adaptor in usage.
Display: The user can customize the below display elements to a personal preference: Brightness level; Wallpaper; Sleep timing; Fond Size.
Sound: The user can adjust sound volume, and customize sounds from media files on the device.
Storage: This sub-menu shows used storage by each classification and available storage size. The information contains reasonable tolerance.
Security&Location:•Some apps require location data submission. The device LS830 is capable of high accuracy A-GPS technology. This feature requires User network service provider support. The device’s default status is ‘On’. Users can switch it off if does not want to share the location data. •User modifies security parameters in this menu, Device management application, permissions, Data Protection, etc.. •Screen lock Default setting is ‘No’. Users can define a favorite Swipe, Pattern, Pin, and Password to lock the device. The unlock key is required each time of screen displays the sleep status of the system power off.
Users&Accounts: Any registered cloud service accounts will appear in this menu. Users can add a new email or Google account here

System

Languages &Input: The user manages the device language and input method here.
Date& Time: The default setting is automatic time zone, date, and time according to inserted SIM card. Users can switch Automatic status to ‘Off’ status and modify it manually.
Backup: User can activate data backup to Google account by switching Backup, status to ‘off.
Reset options: The user can reset Network settings, and DRM licenses or erase all data of the device and reset to NEW device status from this menu.
Warning: Data cannot recover if the User chooses to RESET PHONE.
About phone: Users can view phone status information, version number, and other information.

Troubleshooting and tips

Cannot make a call or cannot receive any incoming call

  • Check the device’s wireless signal in the notification bar.
  • If the signal is weak, then try to move to another place till the signal is better.
  • If the signal is strong, showing a white color icon, then please try to move your SIM card to another mobile phone to compare the call capability or contact operator service for more suggestions.

Cannot access internet service

  • Check the device wireless data signal in the notification bar to make sure WIFI or Cellular Data is activated. The effective connection will show moving arrows randomly.
  • Please check the menu, ‘Settings-Data usage’, to see if Cellular data is put off in an area out of any WIFI coverage.
  • To make sure the WIFI connection, check WIFI router access to the internet is fine.

The system slows down after some time of usage
The device LS830 uses 16GB eMMC for data storage and 2GB DDR3 memory for programs. The default Android system and some pre-installed resources require some space for storage and running memory size. If you install new applications from Google Play or other sources, it may slow down the system.

  • Check the menu, ‘Settings-Storage’ to review the available storage size. The device support an external T-flash card extension.
  • Check the menu, ‘Settings-Memory’ to check the running memory size. You need to uninstall some applications to release memory size if it is very few Free memory sizes. In the menu, ‘Settings-Apps’, the User can check the list and uninstall any app.

Ring tone, notification, media, handset earpiece volume too high or too slow
In-home screen, the User may adjust ring tone volume by pressing ‘Volume Adjust Keys’; In call progress, the User may adjust handset earpiece volume by pressing ‘Volume Adjust Keys’; In the Media Player app, the User may adjust media volume by pressing ‘Volume Adjust Keys’.

FCC Statement

This 4G FIXED WIRELESS PHONE meets the government’s requirements for exposure to radio waves. The guidelines are based on standards that were developed by independent scientific organizations through periodic and thorough evaluations of scientific studies. The standards include a substantial safety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons regardless of age or health.

FCC RF Exposure Information and Statement
the SAR limit of the USA (FCC) is 1.6 W/kg averaged over one gram of tissue. Device types: 4G FIXED WIRELESS PHONE has also been tested against this SAR limit. This device was tested for typical body-worn operations with the back of the 4G FIXED WIRELESS PHONE kept 0mm from the body. To maintain compliance with FCC RF exposure requirements, use accessories that maintain an 0mm separation distance between the user’s body and the back of the 4G FIXED WIRELESS PHONE. The use of belt clips, holsters and similar accessories should not contain metallic components in its assembly. The use of accessories that do not satisfy these requirements may not comply with FCC RF exposure requirements and should be avoided.
