Mcfk Road Handlebar
Thank you very much for buying our products. Please read the instructions carefully and follow the installation details. Have your Mcfk product assembled exclusively by a specialized dealer and present this manual to him for guidance. Please note that the manual is part of the product and as such should be kept safely.
Intended use
The Mcfk road handlebar is approved for up to 100 kg rider weight and can be used with road bikes and cyclocross. The road handlebar must not be shortened. Replace all parts without delay after a fall/accident or when they have been used improperly. Even if you cannot see any defects such as a crack, deformation or mechanical wear, we cannot warrant the safe use of such parts.
Assembly to handlebar stem (for specialized dealers only)
Before starting the assembly, check to be sure that the clamping diameter of the stem fits the road handlebar. It must also be ensured that the clamping unit you use is compatible with carbon handle-bars. Read the use instructions of the bicycle/handlebar stem manufacturer before you start the assem-bly. Remove all sharp edges and burrs or other impurities at the clamping unit before the installation. If necessary, at first, remove bar tape, brake and speed change levers from the handlebar. Slacken the screws of the handlebar clamp at the stem and push the handlebar sideways into the stem. Set the handlebar to center. Tighten the screws of the handlebar clamp alternately and crosswise. Do not over-tighten; observe the maximum permitted tightening torque. Also observe the permitted tightening torques of the stem. Suitable carbon fitting lubricant can improve the twist resistance of the handlebar. Tighten the screws at the handlebar clamp to maximum 4 Nm. Higher torques can damage the stem and the handlebar and create a safety risk for the rider and others.
Brake lever installation (only for specialized dealers)
Before starting the assembly, check to be sure that the clamping diameter of
the brake bracket fits the racing handlebar. It must also be ensured that the
clamping unit you use is compatible with carbon handlebars. Read the use
instructions of the brake lever manufacturer before you start the assembly.
Remove all sharp edges and burrs or other impurities at the clamping unit
before the installation. The racing handlebar must be clean and free of
grease. Adhesive, if any, should be removed before the assembly
For assembly, completely remove the brake shift lever brackets and position
them where required; make sure that the bracket is installed only in the
reinforced segment. Then attach the brake shift lever to the clamp bracket and
tighten the screw to the permitted tightening torque. Tighten the clamping
screws of the brake shift lever to maximum 4 Nm. If you tighten more, the
hand-lebar can be damaged, which is a dramatic safety risk for the rider and
for others.
In use
Check all screws for proper torque regularly. If necessary, have the tightening torque adjusted to the maximum permitted torque by a specialized dealer. Make regular checks of the handlebar and the mounted parts to be sure that they do not turn easily.
