INTRODUCTION
Despite being created for the digital age, the Rocketbook Mini notebook offers the feeling of writing with a pen and paper. The Mini is endlessly reusable and pairs with the Rocketbook app to connect to all of your favorite cloud services, despite feeling like a conventional pocket-sized notebook. Any Pilot Frixion pen will adhere to Core pages like ordinary paper while writing with them. But if you add a drop of water, the notebook magically disappears.
HOW TO STOP ROCKETBOOK FROM SMUDGING
Only use FriXion pens or markers, and frequently scan and delete your notes. Ghosting, or the staining of the pens or markers, can happen to notes that have been left on a page for more than a couple of weeks. The FriXion pens’ eraser should only be used occasionally.
HOW TO GET RID OF FRIXION PEN MARKS
Due to Pilot’s unique thermo-sensitive ink technology, FriXion ink “erases”. Simply “Frixion-It” by rubbing the page with the FriXion eraser tip as if using a standard pencil eraser if corrections need to be made. The ink becomes transparent and warms up to above 60°C when it is rubbed.
HOW TO CLEAN ROCKETBOOK CLOTHS
Use your hands to agitate the soiled microfiber towels and assist them release the dirt and grime while letting them soak in cool or warm (not hot) water. Rinse thoroughly and let air dry. Rocketbook advises against washing the microfiber towel in the washing machine.
HOW TO TEXT A HANDWRITING ROCKETBOOK
- Go to Menu. Turn on Smart Titles under Settings > Handwriting Recognition OCR.
- In your Rocketbook notebook, place the desired title in between double hashtags.
- Tap Done after scanning the page.
- The text that is transcribed in between the double hashtags will serve as the file name.
FAQs
does frixion make a pen that would fit into the notebook spiral for storage? it would then fit in my jeans.
I just picked up a leather notebook cover and it has a loop for the frixion pen. Love this, carry it everywhere in my back pocket.
How many pages are in this book?
There are 24 sheets or 48 pages.
Does this mini version have the icons on the bottom to easily file notes?
While the mini version does not have the icons at the bottom of the pages, you can easily select the destination in the Rocketbook app when scanning your images.
Is a pen included with mini?
To reiterate Kenneth’s answer, a Pilot FriXion pen is included with every purchase of a Rocketbook Mini! We include a pen with every purchase of one of our reusable notebooks.
Can I use permanent marker to make a template for notes that I don’t want to be erased?
Not 100% on this I have not tried it but I would assume that would work perfectly. Then, the same as you would on a white board, you can probably use dry erase marker over the top of the permanent marker to erase it easy peezey!
Will the writing fade if left in the heat?
I left my notebook and pen in the truck on a hot summer day. The ink on the pages didn’t fade much, but the pen was useless afterwards, even after being in the freezer. I had to buy a new pen, but that’s a lot better than losing all the notes in the book.
what is the Frixion pen eraser made of? latex-free?
I don’t know what it is made of. It is harder material than your usual eraser. It only works within the first 10 seconds or so. Once it dries you need water to wipe it away.
Does this work with frixion Ball point pens?
That’s correct, any FriXion pen will work on your Rocketbook Mini.
Are there any recurring charges to use the rocket Book app, or is it completely free? Is this Everlast notebook all I’ll need?
I have several different Rocketbook tools, and I have never seen any hint of a charge for using the app. Typically, app developers will add charges for extra features, but I don’t know what those would be in this case.
Can I use my tongue and saliva to lick the pages clean in lieu of the damp cloth method suggested?
Indeed you can!
Can I sanitize the note of with alcohol wipes without ruining it?
Hmm, I actually don’t see why not, but I certainly can’t say for sure. It’s wet like water which we know is how to currently clean off what’s written on pages. And alcohol dries so fast it didn’t stay in the page long. But that being said, there may be a reaction from the alcohol that might change the way the “paper” performs long term. I would ask the company directly.
does it come with the pen holder?
Mine did come with a pen but not a holder.
Replacement pen size? What size ink replacement should I purchase for the mini? I see fine as an option but not sure if interchangeable for refills.
I have tried 3 sizes of ball… .7mm (the standard one), .5mm, and .38mm. For me, the .7mm is too thick (I write small), and I have problems with the .38mm working on the Rocketbook pages. I think it doesn’t provide enough friction. The .38mm works very well on regular paper.
will it fit in the front pocket of a pair of men’s jeans?
Yes, but only the smallest of the 3 available notebooks. In a pants pocket it will likely distort with running, sitting, etc. The smallest notebook will fit into an ordinary shirt pocket.
Does the scan and beam service work with Samsung Notes?
It’s an app, so you should check with the App Store that works with your smartphone to see if it’s there. I imagine it would though.
