Introduction

The Rocketbook resembles a conventional notebook in feel, yet it is connected to all of your preferred online services and is endlessly reusable. Any pen from the Pilot Frixion series will make your writing adhere to Rocketbook pages just like conventional paper. But if you add a drop of water, the notebook magically disappears. For those who desire an eternally reusable notebook that will last for years, if not a lifetime, we created the Rocketbook. The pages of the Rocketbook are comprised of synthetic materials, which offer an incredibly smooth writing experience. Send your handwritten notes to well-known cloud services including email, iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, Box, OneNote, Slack, and more using the free Rocketbook application for iOS and Android.
HOW IT WORKS
- WRITING: Use the Fusion exclusively with Pilot FriXion pens and markers. Give the ink 15 seconds to bond to the page to avoid smudging. Try moistening the tip of the pen if it skips.
- ORGANIZE: arrange the notes you have made
- SCAN: Scan your page with the free Rocketbook app, then upload it to the cloud. At the bottom of the Rocketbook page, mark a symbol. Take a scan on the app’s Scan screen and then follow the on-screen directions to send it to email or cloud storage.
- REUSE: Wipe the page with a wet portion of the provided microfiber cloth. Then use the towel’s dry side to clean it. Before rewriting on the page, make sure it is completely dry.
HOW TO STOP ROCKETBOOK FROM SUMUDGING
Only use FriXion pens or markers, and frequently scan and delete your notes. Ghosting, or the staining of the pens or markers, can happen to notes that have been left on a page for more than a couple of weeks. The FriXion pens’ eraser should only be used occasionally.
HOW TO GET RID OF FRIXION PEN MARKS
Due to Pilot’s unique thermo-sensitive ink technology, FriXion ink “erases”. Simply “Frixion-It” by rubbing the page with the FriXion eraser tip as if using a standard pencil eraser if corrections need to be made. The ink becomes transparent and warms up to above 60°C when it is rubbed.
FAQs
If I scan a page of notes to word or google docs, would it be an image or would it essentially type it out for me and allow me to edit the text?
If you email the document to yourself, it can do OCR transcription in the text of your email or as an attachment as well as PDF. You then have to copy/paste it to word or docs. It requires pretty neat handwriting and of course isn’t perfect, but it definitely can save some time typing.
How many pages the notebook has?
If I read correctly in the description, it states it has 36 paper pages. If it comes with less, I would recommend returning the item and getting a refund. Seller needs to either correct his/her description or add more pages to the notebook.
Can you use any pen to write in the notebook?
No, you have to use Pilot’s Frixion line of writing products – the notebook will come with one to get you started. They offer a few different types of pens, markers and highlighters.
What type of material is the book made of? Is it hard, sturdy plastic? Water resistant?
Space age materials!! It will not soak up water. Water will not destroy it but if you get it wet all the ink will be removed. It is a plastic like material. It is flexible and not rigid.
Can you scan a drawing as a jpg? or something that can be used in photoshop or as a vector for illustrator?
When you send a scan to your cloud destination(s), you can choose either JPG, PDF or GIF as the file type. You can actually set each destination to have its own file type, so you don’t have to choose one file type for all destinations!
What is the safest agent to clean the cloths with without ruining the book afterwards?
Hand washing is the best method for cleaning your microfiber towel. If you do, however, choose to machine wash, make sure to avoid the use of any fabric softeners, as this can damage the notebook pages.
Will the transcription work with cursive writing or do you have to “print”?
Cursive works as well.
Is this the Rocketbook Everlast?
No. In the description of the title says nothing about Rocketbook Everlast. I actually searched Everlast. Everlast notes are erased differently. Plus Everlast has 32 paper pages.
How does it transcribe the notes ? There is an option for email transcription but it doesn’t say how one can do so ?
Adding on to J. Kind’s response, if you send notes to OneDrive, you can only send as a PDF or JPG. But if you send to a writing app like OneNote, it gives you the option to turn on OCR Transcription. With OCR turned on, you get to choose if you want to receive the PDF and the transcription as one file or two separate files.
Is this compatible with Salesforce??
Yes, it is compatible with Salesforce.
How is this packages? Planning to gift this
I love it, I plan on buying the planner one for work, and a small notebook for my wife to journal (she wants to steal mine). This product is better than I thought it would be. It’s easy to clean, very easy to scan and send to different cloud services and it transcribes to txt which is super convenient. Honestly this notebook is amazing and I recommend it. As a teacher who has to teach online, I’m going to recommend to my students for upload homework easier.
Can you use different color pens? If so will different colors be visible in the scans?
Yes, you can use different color pens. But they must be the Pilot Frixion pens. I have a whole set of colored pens that I use in addition to the black pen it came with. The colors are all visible in the scans.
Do you have to pay for a subscription or anything when you get the app?
Nope! The app is free to use. All you got to do is download it!
Can you use pilot frixion point extra fine pens as well?
Yes. That’s all I write with.
How is this different than just taking a pic of your handwritten notes in a regular notebook and uploading as a PDF to various data clouds?
Actually the scans are perfectly sized & look like an actual pdf document that you download. I’ve tried taking pictures of a page & uploading it as pdf but it didn’t look good at all.
