PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES!

For reasons of safety and to prevent damage when using the multimedia device always follow precautions defined by a car dealer from whom you bought the car.
Before installing Menaco make sure you know the 4‐digit code of your radio! For vehicles up to 2015 the system may ask for this code during the installation. This code can be found either in the operating manual of
the car or in the instructions to the radio. If you do not have this code – contact your car dealer.
Software installation or update shall be made with the engine running. During installation do NOT turn off the engine, do NOT drive the car, do NOT switch a neutral transmission into reverse (switch to rear camera)! These actions may cause interruption of installation and completely destroy the headunit.
Install the software and send the file to obtain a license key only on computers running Windows. MAC devices (iMAC when unpacking archives, iPhone when sending files) distort files and cause problems.
Prepare a blank USB stick memory of 4GB‐32GB (taking into account the storage of navigation maps, and your audio and video files). Be sure to read our recommendations and tips on USB Stick.

FOUR MAIN STAGES

Installing Menaco custom ware on Media‐Nav consists of four main stages:

Check and update (if necessary) the firmware version.
Download the installation files and unzip them to the USB stick.
Insert the flash drive into the USB port (automatic installation starts).
Get the license key and copy it to the USB stick.

FIRMWARE UPDATE

The current firmware version detection

Before installing Menaco, make sure that the current firmware version is 4.0.2 or above.

To do this, perform the following:

Turn on the radio power button and wait until the radio is fully loaded.
In the Media Nav menu go to Settings / System and then select System version. The screen shows the current version of firmware, for example, 4.0.1, 4.0.6, 4.1.0.

The current firmware version update

To update the current firmware version choose one option that suits you out of 3 possible below:

If the current firmware version is lower than 4.0.2, for example 2.0.9, 3.5.7, 4.0.1, then update it to 4.1.0. To update use the Firmware Upgrade Instruction (see below).
If the current firmware version is within the range of 4.0.2 ‐ 4.1.0, then you do NOT need to perform any
update, go to the INSTALLING MENACO CUSTOMWARE section herein after. If desired (but not required), before installing Menaco, you can update any of the above versions from the range to firmware version 4.1.0.
To update use the Firmware Upgrade Instruction (see below).
If the third‐party customware is installed (6.0.3md mediaskin customware), installing Menaco on a third‐party customware is unacceptable. Before installing the Menaco firmware, be sure to uninstall the third‐party
custom ware and install the native firmware version 4.1.0. To do this, use the Firmware Downgrade Instruction (see below).

Firmware UPGRADE Instruction

Download the archive file (upgrade4.1.0original.rar) to your PC from the link below.

Unzip the archive file to your PC.
Copy the unzipped file (upgrade.lgu) from the PC to the root of a new blank USB stick.
Extract the USB stick from the PC.
Start the engine of your car (DO NOT turn off during installation), turn on the multimedia.
Insert the USB stick into the slot of the multimedia.
You will be prompted to update to 4.1.0. Click Update. The update will start automatically.
After a successful update, the device will reboot and offer the update again. Click Cancel so that this procedure does not repeat.
Wait until the process is complete. Attention! Update process consists of two parts ‐ before and after restarting. If, after the first part the radio is switched off and will not run on their own ‐ turn it on manually.
The device is successfully updated to the correct version.

Firmware DOWNGRADE Instruction

Restore the firmware from version 6.0.3md to the original version 4.1.0 by following steps 1 and 2 below.

General instructions for clauses 1 and 2

Download the archive file from the link below.
Unpack it.
Copy the upgrade. lgu file to a blank USB stick.
Start the engine of your car (DO NOT turn off during installation), turn on the multimedia.
Insert the USB stick into the USB slot of the radio. A message will appear indicating that the firmware can be upgraded to version 9.9.9.
Click the Update button. The installation of the required firmware version will start automatically, after which the device will reboot.
After rebooting, you need to immediately remove the USB stick so that this procedure does not repeat.

Then install the program for forced installation (recovery) to the original firmware version 4.1.0 (force‐4.1.0‐ original.rar): https://yadi.sk/d/0gYYUfnt1sIzmQ

INSTALLING MENACO CUSTOMWARE

ATTENTION: Installing Menaco custom ware to the Media‐Nav Evolution radio is possible only over the original firmware version 4.0.2 ‐ 4.1.0.
Unzip the archive file on your computer Menaco‐4.1.0.3.rar (password: menaco). Copy archive contents (internal folders and files) to an empty USB stick, pre‐formatted in FAT32 and of not less than 4 GB.
Insert the USB stick to the multimedia system (hereinafter referred to as “radio” or “head unit”).
Turn on the radio power button and wait until the radio is fully loaded.
The message “Update information” about the possibility of firmware update to version Menaco_4.1.0.3 shall appear.
Click “Update”.
Wait until the installation process is complete (do not turn off the radio, the installation takes place in several stages: one runs the progress bar, then the radio reboot window is displayed for some time, then another progress bar runs).
Attention: Update process consists of two parts ‐ before and after restarting. If, after the first part the radio is switched off and will not run on their own ‐ turn it on manually.
As soon as the installation process is complete the message about the possibility of renewal shall appear again. Update is no longer needed. At this time press the on‐screen button with “a house” (or the left arrow). The Main Media‐Nav menu displays (Menaco software is already installed, but visually regular screen will not change until you copy the license file).
Turn off the radio. Remove the USB stick from the radio.
Remove the file of upgrade.lgu from the USB stick.
A file of menavrus.did should appear in the folder menavrus\ on the USB stick. Remove the USB stick from the radio and check this file. This file is required to obtain the Menaco license file. If menavrus.did does not appear:
- Insert the USB stick back to the radio and turn it on, wait for a full load, turn off the radio and check the file again or
- Perform a complete formatting of the USB stick and repeat steps 2‐11 again).
Remove the USB stick. Go to the Menaco License page and submit this file by filling out the special form.
In a response letter (over time) you will receive a license file of menavrus.lic, copy and paste it into a folder of menavrus\ on the USB stick. Do not delete the menavrus.did file.
Copy the navigation map files from your PC to a certain folder on the USB stick (set of programs depends on the Menaco configuration you ordered. For Navitel desired folder can be created in the root directory of the USB stick manually, or this folder will be created automatically later when your first start Navitel):
for Navitel (file .nm7) ‐ a folder NavitelContent\Maps\;
for Seven Ways (files .7w and / or * .dat) ‐ a folder 7ways\maps\;
for Progorod (folders of junction and/or maps) ‐ a folder Progorod\.

Restart the radio (for 30 seconds the ignition key in position 0). Insert the USB stick to the radio and switch the radio on. The message about successful update of the license file shall appear. Reboot the radio by pressing YES. After the second reload Menaco custom ware is installed.
To check the Menaco functionality press “Map” or “Way” in the Media‐Nav Main Menu.

The Menaco Main Menu with additional program buttons shall be displayed.

Note:

If Menaco menu buttons are not displayed, check if the ON button is enabled in the Media‐Nav Menu / Settings / System / Navigation).
If after Item 16 the Menaco menu buttons do not appear, then the only reason is the USB stick. Format the USB stick (full format or take a new one) and repeat the installation of Menaco, starting with Item 2, the license file of menavrus.lic will remain the same (save it previously).
