INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
MENACO GEN1 for KIA and HYUNDAI
Universal software package to run third‐party navigation software in standard car multimedia and navigation systems
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
- For security reasons, and to avoid property damage, be sure to follow safety precautions when using the multimedia device (hereinafter referred to as the “headunit”), defined by the manufacturer or the dealer from whom you purchased the car.
- Software installation or update shall be made with the engine running. During installation do NOT turn off the engine, do NOT drive the car, do NOT switch a neutral transmission into reverse (switch to rear camera)! These actions may cause interruption of installation and completely destroy the headunit.
- Install the software and send the file to obtain a license key only on computers running Windows. MAC devices (iMAC when unpacking archives, iPhone when sending files) distort files and cause problems.
- Prepare a blank USB stick on 4‐32 GB (to store navigation maps, as well as your audio and video files). Familiarize the useful tips for USB Stick.
4 MAIN INSTALLATION STEPS
The Monaco installation process to the GEN1 headunit consists of 4 main steps:
- Check and update (if necessary) the current firmware version.
- Download the installation files and unzip them to the USB stick.
- Insert the USB stick drive into the USB connector of the car multimedia (automatic installation will start).
- Receive the license key and copy it to the USB stick.

Before you install Monaco, make sure that the current original firmware
version is 7.7.4.
To do this, you must:
- Turn on the headunit with a power button and wait until it is loaded fully.
- Press and hold for 10 seconds the Gear button on the front panel of the headunit (if you have a car of 2010 or 2011, then the Setup button is instead of the Gear button).
- The screen displays the current firmware version (in the line “Software Version: …”)

-
ATTENTION! Installation of Menaco is only possible over the original firmware version 7.7.4!

-
Unzip the archive file LG8900‐2100‐HMC‐ххх.rar (for Hyundai) or LG8900‐2100‐KIA‐ххх.rar (for Kia) to the PC (Note: xxx indicates the release number). Copy internal folders and files to the USB stick.
-
Check that after unpacking both archives, the following folders and files should be on the USB stick (in the root directory):
-
Start the engine, switch on the headunit and insert the USB stick into the slot next to the lever of the CPR.
-
If everything is done correctly, you will see the Monaco Installer message. Wait till completion of operation (the INSTALL SUCCESS message) and automatic reboot. If the installer shows an error – turn off the ignition for 15 minutes (to reboot the headunit). Switch on the ignition. Switch on the headunit. Remove the USB stick and turn off the ignition. Send the menavrus‐install.log file (this file is created automatically in the root directory of the USB stick) to e‐mail support@menaco.by (technical support).
-
If the Installer does not show errors and the headunit rebooted, wait until it is loaded fully (Monaco firmware is installed but the headunit menu stays unchanged until the license file is copied to the USB stick). The meandrous. did file shall appear in the Menara’s/ folder on the USB stick. Turn off the ignition. Remove the USB stick. Check this file.
-
meandrous. did file is required to obtain the Monaco license file of meandrous. lic. Go to the Menaco License page and submit this file by filling out the special form.
-
In a reply letter (over time), you will receive a license file meandrous. lic. Copy it to the Menara’s/ folder on the USB stick. Please note that you do not need to remove meandrous. did file or others from the USB stick.
-
Copy the maps files from the PC to the certain folder on the USB stick (the set of programs depends on the ordered completion of Menaco). For Navitel you can create the required folder in the root directory of the USB stick manually, or this folder will be created later when you start Navitel for the first time):
for Novatel (file .nm7) to folder Navitel Content\Maps\;
for 7ways (files .7w and/or *.dat) to folder 7ways\Maps\. -
a). Car engine must be turned off at least 15 minutes (to restart the headunit).
b). Insert USB stick into the slot next to the lever of the CPR and switch on the headunit.
c). File initialization occurs. Monaco is installed. -
To verify that Monaco is in service click a Map button (or 5 times on the Gear button to start the new
software) ‐ you should see the Monaco Menu with the buttons for additional programs.
Note: If Monaco does not start after Clause 10, please format the USB stick (or take a new one) and install Monaco starting with Clause 2 again. Please note that a license file meandrous. lice will remain the same (save it first).

this may completely disable the headunit operability! Also, you cannot
format the Storage Card partition!

can lead to the complete unavailability of the headunit.
All the ways to run programs can be configured in the /Storage

syntax.
To close random access to the Total Commander CE, rename (or delete) the file
