THERMOS F5000NY6 Funtainer Food Storage System
GENERAL CARE
-
Before first use, and as soon as possible after each use, wash all parts with warm, soapy water. Rinse all parts thoroughly and allow time to dry.
-
This product is top-rack dishwasher safe; however, washing by hand is recommended as the dishwasher uses harsher detergents and hot water that may affect the appearance of your product. Both methods require removal of all parts, including tray, to ensure proper cleaning and sanitization.
-
Contents should not be left in the container for longer than 24 hours. As soon as possible after each and every use, wash all parts with warm, soapy water. Rinse all parts thoroughly with clean water. Allow all parts to dry completely prior to next use or storage.
-
DO NOT use abrasive cleaners or scrubbers since they may dull the finish.
-
DO NOT use bleach or cleaners containing chlorine on any parts of the product.
-
Residual liquids, foods, or other contents may become trapped between product components, such as lid parts, container parts, tray parts, gaskets (flexible band around lid and/or stopper), or any outer shell parts. Although this
product is top-rack dishwasher safe, washing by hand is recommended to ensure that all parts of the product are thoroughly cleaned. -
Lid (B) is hinged and is not meant to be removable from the outer shell (A).
ASSEMBLY & USE
Removable components (some components may not be included):
TO USE FUNTAINER® FOOD STORAGE SYSTEM:
-
Pull the front latch (A1) down and lift lid (B) to open.
-
Remove all components. Wash outer shell (A), lid (B), tray (C1), lid insert (C2) removable components (D, E), and polypropylene containers (F, G), separately and allow to dry.
-
Once all parts have dried:
a. Insert tray (C1) into outer shell (A) first. Singular cutout (C1.1) on the rim of the tray should line up with the front latch (A1) and the two cutouts on the opposite side of the singular cutout (C1.1) should line up with the hinges.
b. Insert lid insert (C2) into interior of lid (B) by putting the back surface below the notches in the lid (B) and pressing the front side down until it snaps into the front clasp. (To remove, push knob toward middle until the clasp releases, then pull upward and out.) -
Fill the removable components (D, E) and polypropylene containers (F, G) with contents. Do not overfill. Leave space to close polypropylene containers (F, G) with lids and avoid overflow. Tray (C1) can also be used without the removable components (D, E) and/or polypropylene container (F,G).
a. Tray (C1) and removable components (D, E) are not leak-proof. The polypropylene containers (F, G) are recommended to store wet contents. -
Place all removable components (D, E) filled with contents back into the tray (C1).
a. Place removable components (D, E) in the largest rectangular section of tray with textured tabs back to back.
b. Place polypropylene container (F) into the round section of tray (B).
c. Place polypropylene container (G) into the smaller rectangular section of tray (B).
d. Ensure components (D, E), tray (C1), and lid insert (C2) are properly seated in the tray to minimize movement of contents within the Storage System. -
After closing lid (B), lift up latch (A1) and snap securely into place.
TO USE THE 8 OZ POLYPROPYLENE CONTAINER (F) WITH FUNTAINER® FOOD STORAGE SYSTEM:
-
Remove the lid (F1) by twisting it counterclockwise.
-
Remove gasket (F2) from underside of lid (F1).
-
Wash all parts separately and allow to dry. Once all parts have dried, re-assemble gasket (F2) in lid (F1).
a. Ensure gasket (F2) is properly seated to minimize leaking. -
Fill container with contents. Do not overfill: leave space at top of container for lid (F1) to avoid overflow.
-
Replace lid (F1) by twisting it clockwise.
a. Ensure lid (F1) is closed all the way to minimize leaking. -
Place the container (F) in the circular section of the tray (C1).
TO USE THE 2 OZ POLYPROPYLENE CONTAINER (G) WITH FUNTAINER® FOOD STORAGE SYSTEM:
- Remove lid (G1) by pulling upwards.
- Wash all parts separately and allow to dry.
- Fill container with contents. Do not overfill: leave space at top of container for lid (G1) to avoid overflow.
- Replace lid (G1) by snapping it back on.
- Place the 2oz container (G) in the smaller rectangular section located towards the front of the tray. Note there is a circular indentation in the base of the tray (C1) configured to receive the container (G).
IMPORTANT
Pack and open Funtainer® food storage system with care, as contents may shift
during transport. While the divider tray (C1) and lid insert (C2) (when used
together) are intended to generally hold the food or other contents in
separate areas the storage areas are not intended to be airtight, so some
comingling or mixing may occur. If comingling or mixing is unwanted,
additional receptacles, wrappings, or cases may be used to further secure food
components.
The storage system may be used with or without divider tray (C1) or lid insert
(C2) for alternative configurations. When using the storage system without
divider tray (C1) or lid insert (C2), contents are more likely to shift or
comingle without the structure of the tray (C1) or lid insert (C2).
In any configuration – with or without divider tray (C1), lid insert (C2), removable components (D, E), or polypropylene containers (F, G) – we recommend testing the product in a variety of orientations to confirm satisfactory or intended storage results (e.g., that the food stays in the compartments or containers, food does not get bruised or deformed from other contents, etc.). The results may vary, depending on how storage system is configured, how the storage system is transported, and which types/consistencies of food are stored in the respective storage spaces. Liquids and viscous or gelatinous substances are more likely to move around if not fully contained, so transport with caution.
The Funtainer® food storage system fits in a Thermos® brand standard lunch box for easy carrying.
WARNINGS:
- DO NOT use product in microwave, on stove-top, or in any type of oven.
- Never leave child unattended while using this product.
- Always test temperature of contents before consuming and before feeding to your child.
- This product is not intended to insulate food or beverages, unless used with a Vacuum-Insulated Food Jar or a Vacuum-Insulated Bottle (both sold separately).
- DO NOT overfill the container: Leave space at top of container for lid and stopper (if present), to avoid overflow. Hot contents may burn or scald user if overflow occurs.
- Open Storage System with lid facing upward, and outer shell base sitting on a horizontal surface. Take care when opening as contents may have shifted during transport
- Check periodically to make sure any gasket (flexible band around lid and/or stopper) is present and properly positioned to prevent contents from passing through lid when lid is closed (if applicable to product). Missing, worn or misaligned gasket may cause product to leak. Leakage of hot contents may burn or scald user, or may cause damage to property stored nearby.
- In general, contents should not be left in container for longer than 24 hours. However, the rate at which contents spoil depends on several factors. Certain contents that include, for example, dairy, homemade soup, and/or tomato may start to spoil much sooner. Also, spoilage may occur faster when contents have been partially consumed. In addition, spoilage may occur sooner with the opening and reclosing of a product holding contents. Proceed with caution when using the product with quick spoiling or partially consumed contents, as pressure may build up in the container and possibly cause forceful ejection of the stopper or contents.
- If contents are left in the container longer than 24 hours, or you suspect spoilage, use caution when opening the container. Contents spoilage can cause pressure inside the container to build, possibly leading to the forceful ejection of the stopper or contents. In such circumstances, before attempting to open the container, ENSURE THE OPENING IS POINTED AWAY FROM THE USER OR OTHER PERSONS TO AVOID INJURY.
- DO NOT use tools or devices to force container to open.
- If you are unable to open container by hand, do not open it and dispose of it at your local waste facility.
- DO NOT use to store or carry carbonated drinks or dry ice. This may cause lid/stopper and contents to eject forcefully or leak.
