Operations

To change Input / filter mode

  1. Press the button on the panel to change input
  2. Press the button longer to change filter modeaune-X8-XVIII-BT-Magic-DAC-Bluetooth-FIG-3
    • Press for 2 seconds to indicate the current filter mode
    • Press for 4 seconds, the lights will be on and off in turn. Let go when the lights of the desired filter mode is/are on.

Introduction

The X8X VIII DAC uses the FPGA researched and developed by aune, and supports PCM 768k DSD512 high resolution music files decoding. It has the special op- amp interchangeable design and seven filter modes. The Bluetooth edition supports LDAC + aptX HD receiving. It is a DAC purely focusing on sound quality.

TRS balanced output definition (aune cable recommended)

  • Tip: Positive(+or hot)
  • Ring: Negative(-or cold)
  • Sleeve: Shield or ground

Operations

Via USB

  1. Connect the X8 XVIII and a computer with the USB cable in the package (diagram 1)
  2. Set input to USB
  3. Play music on the computer
  4. Connect the X8 XVIII and an amplifier / active speakers via AUDIO OUT (fixed line out) or via PREAMP OUT (variable; you can use the volume knob to control volume)

Via Coaxial / Optical

  1. Connect the X8 and a digital audio device (eg. digital transport, computer main board with digital outputs) (diagram 2)
  2. Set input to COAX or OPT
  3. Play music on the connected device
  4. Connect the X8 XVIII and an amplifier / active speakers via AUDIO OUT (fixed line out) or via PREAMP OUT (variable; you can use the volume knob to control volume)

Via Bluetooth (Bluetooth Edition Only)

  1. Search for device “aune X8 ” on the Bluetooth transmitter device (smartphone, computer, etc.)
  2. Set input to Bluetooth
  3. Play music on the connected device
  4. Connect the X8 XVIII and an amplifier / active speakers via AUDIO OUT (fixed line out) or via PREAMP OUT (variable; you can use the volume knob to control volume)

About Balanced Output

  1. All inputs of the X8 XVIII support the variable balanced output
  2. Connect the X8 XVIII and an amplifier / active speakers with the corresponding TRS cable – the dual-6.35mm plug for the X8 VIII TRS input
  3. Use the volume knob to control volume
